Nice looking scales. Love my little stubby wiha driver. Interesting choice for up next vid by youtube btw... "Make old toys great again: 11 fun ways to repurposed childhood stuff" Bravo algorithm, bravo.
That red is really good looking same for the navy blue on the dyed ones The replacements all look good but the blueish grey I really like. Have a great day.
I have not reviewed a Valet yet. None of the aftermarket scale makers offer the Valet that I know of. You can check Etsy or eBay to see if someone has them.
I put in my metonboss ti scales today and it took forever to lineup the copper washers and push th pin thru until 8 found out the trick to it. It have an precision screwdriver kit with very small flathead screwdrivers to help center the washers. I use a linger bit to align the washers and blade from the bottom and put the pin thru the top. When you hear a “click” you know youve gone thru the washers and blade with the pin. Also not that the pin has a “flat” side to it, so you will only be able to push the pin all the way thru if the flat part matches the flat sides of the blade/scale.
Looking good Zach! Wow. You're a regular Pro, with that driver set too. : - ) The next time you do this though. Put a little tape on that cutting edge. We don't want you to have to get into your first aid kit, and dig out some of those Benchmade Band-aids of yours!
Yeah I have thought about that after the fact! Thanks for the kind words! Needed to get s bigger bit for the pivot place holder but it worked half meat decent. Need to get a box of those Benchmade bandaids. For the next show I will hand them out!
Wow! That blue scale you just did is an awesome color! I may have to get a set for mine when they make more. Great collection of bugout. Im Definitely going to get a set of mollusk 940 scales, those are sick!
Great video and subscribed. I have 2 Bugouts but both came way off centered. Love the scales you put on in this video. Any thoughts on how to fix the centering on these?
You can always send it back in with the order to fix centering. I have always just taken mine apart and reassembled which usually helps with centering. They have a couple tweaks they can do at the factory.
If you're looking for a good deep carry clip for those scales the LynchNW TI pocket clips are really nice, I paired up a sandblasted one with my sandblasted scales and it looks badass!
Love the bugout from the clip blade and handle design I hope they come out with a sprint in cru wear or something else a little more exotic than s30v and a cool carbon or titanium handles even just full liners and g10 handles.I can’t even make a list because my minds always changing wish I could sell some blades or trade I have 60 high quality folders and 20 top grade fixed blades alone with axes tactical and not tactical tomahawks the beat tactical shovel ever the crovel but its heavy though they had a lighter version that I wish I got but I’m no internet seller and don’t know many people where I live that want high priced knives to me that $150-$300 no need to pay more than that unless your rich or a top notch collector.Very cool scales I’m thinking of getting some flytanium titanium handles for my mini FRN grip in 154 cm so I can be happy carrying it for the summer with shorts either that or the chaparral which is a great small knife by spyderco cant spydie flick it because it’s a back lock which looks great u can still open one handed and even close it with some practice plus you can’t go wrong with CT’s-xhp steel with spyderco’s wire clip which I love comes in titanium handles and carbon I own both there great knives for gym shorts than there’s the Benchmade outlast and the spyderco sage five with there back liner lock which I love and 100 more I could buy a new ikea with what I’ve spent on blades and gear.

Zach’s Stuff bro! You kidding this set up is so dope it needs to in a museum or a knife Hall Of Fame lol..it really is nice and they way you just breeze swapping scales it’s like you have done a million times and I’m sure you will find a set of dope ass scales and add to I’m truly impressed and every time I see them a little part of me inside 🔥 with jealousy but a healthy one cuz I want to do something cool like that. It’s funny cuz I saw that video of that guy that has what he calls “the bug out Benchmade should’ve made” its one knife and it’s actually pretty good but each one of yours is either better or as good mostly better. Let me know if you seen the video if you remember or want to respond.peace have a good one brother
Thanks for all the kind words Blade Man! I have watched a bunch of videos and I always enjoy putting out content and appreciate all the feedback! The scales are always fun to swap and upgrade the stock knives! Have a great week!
I like the carbon 1st than the brass and blue one and 3rd place goes to the baby blue handles.I love the micarta one alout but I hate those weird light brown lines without them it would be my second pick behind the carbon version.Great video u sure do like the Benchmade bugout which u should but wow I thats alout of buyouts and scales etc throw on my way 😘
I used some dawn dish soap to clean the scales of all oils/grease. Then heated up the rit dye mix. No color stripper used. I used the ranger green scales to get the red. The color took fast. About 1 minute to a minute and a half.
@@zachstuff thanks. I've got a couple sets of handles that I can play around with and I wasn't sure if I should mix something with the blue/green scales to get a color or if any color will soak in.
Thanks! Did a video on this one. Used synthetic racing red rit dye. Turned out good, just make sure to follow what I did in the video and not leave it in too long.
@@zachstuff I own very few knives, manix 2, zt 300st, crkt foresight, spyderco native, rat 1, but we're talking years in between purchases. And it's been 3 years since my last serious knife purchase. Can't begin to tell you about the selection process lol. The bugout is the first knife in a long time to get my attention. Love the options for scales.
Hey man, I’m not sure if you’ve made a video on this or not. What do you do to keep your bugouts smooth. On my bugout and mini bugout, the dlc coating on the lock bar always wears off where it comes in contact with the blade. That leaves bare titanium in contact with steel, which isn’t the smoothest combination. Is there any way in your opinion to prevent this or any way to fix this? Thankyou
Great idea for a video topic! I usually just use pencil lead and "draw" it on the axis bar. This lead/graphite helps with the stickiness that happens sometimes. Thanks for your support!
Hello Branden! Currently it does void the warranty. Most people keep the original scales in case warranty is needed. Hoping this becomes more welcomed in the future!
I ended up making an order today for their grey aluminum oxide critters since there supposed to be grippier. I look forward to seeing them in person Thanks for the info. The blue scales you have look almost like a gunmetal. I like it. I could t decide on the blue since he showed me a brighter blue color.
I'm partial to the factory scales, I will be trying some RBW scales at some point. I would also like some Rock Scale Designs but for my Para 3. I like his scales too but I don't want Ti on my Bugout.
I weighed the titanium scales installed at 2.59 ounces. Stock knife/scale run about 1.67 ounces. So net a little less than an ounce for the ti scales by themselves.
It was funny when you just started puting the knives on the table like it's never gonna end, and I was just sitting there, staring and being like ''one knife from this video is more expensive than my whole collection and you have eight of the same one''
The purple and red ones are just classy, damn that red is slick
This makes the knife absolutely perfect in my opinion. Makes the knife actually worth the price.
200+? With the scales it makes it more reasonable to the price they sell it without the scales. To bad the scales cost as much as the knife brand new.
You don't have to take the whole knife apart to swap scales. Just do one side at a time. So much easier.
Red, and the titanium bronze and blue. Great video!
Holy hell man.... what a collection of bugouts! a Good $1500-2k in bugouts
Carbon fiber got my vote
Great video on swapping those out. Showing proper way to take apart.
Thanks for the support and it’s fun to do if it all works out on camera!

The blue anno critter from Rock Scale is absolutely fantastic. I am obsessing over it
I'd love to buy A bugout and some ti scales. The scales have out of stock for a while now. Ill keep checking around though.
Great scales! Each Saturday Rock Scale Designs puts new products on their website in the morning!

Love those scales!!
Thanks they are pretty nifty!
What a collection! I love them all but am a sucker for purple. I like the idea of a backspaced to even out the weight distribution.
Tony the backspacer adds a perfect amount of weight and also stabilizes the scales wonderfully! Purple rocks!
Tony Canniffe I got the backspacer and I’m loving it! Rockscale Designs really has some quality products!
