Now, let's talk about student visas in Australia. A student visa is a temporary visa that allows you to stay in Australia for the duration of your chosen course. There's a wide range of courses to choose from, but it's crucial to select a CRICOS-accredited course. CRICOS stands for the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students, ensuring that the course meets the necessary standards for international students.
When applying for a student visa, you have the option to include your family members, such as your partner, dependent children under 18, or your partner's dependents. Once you've obtained a confirmation of enrolment from your chosen university or education provider for the relevant course, you can start preparing your visa application.
One of the most critical factors in your application is the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criterion. You'll need to provide a written statement demonstrating that you and your family have no intentions of overstaying your student visa in Australia.
For families applying together, once the visa is approved, the entire family can migrate to Australia as a unit. Alternatively, if your family members plan to join you after you've started your university journey, they can apply for a subsequent entrant visa. In some cases, families opt for the main applicant to migrate first, making arrangements for accommodation, work, and school selection, with the rest of the family following on subsequent entrant visas.
It's important to be aware of the "one fails, all fail" rule. For most visas, including student visas, all family members must meet the requirements for good character and good health. If one family member fails the character or medical tests, it can lead to the refusal of all other family members' visa applications. So, it's crucial for everyone in the family to meet these criteria for a successful application.
Disclaimer: Before we dive into today's topic, I want to make it clear that I am not a migration agent. I am a student advisor or counselor, here to provide you with some valuable information. However, if you're looking for professional assistance with your Australian visa journey, we can connect you with MARA-certified agents who can guide you through the process.

Sir, my wife wants to go to Australia and do Masters. But my wife completed bsc food science in 2019. Then there was a 4 year gap after marriage, child and so on. Is the year gap a problem for my wife to master there?
