Discovered modaf when I found my 70 year old Dads stash lol. What a better life to choose when compared to adderall. Adderall is meth and a complete narcotic. Modafinil is fucking magic
I wish doctors were more willing to try this drug out. I’ve had terrible depression and insomnia for years with myriad cognitive problems such as lethargy and poor memory but my doctors refused to let me try modafinil. They want me to max out 4 other drugs before they would even entertain prescribing this to me. I told them that the other drugs weren’t even helping and I’ve been on higher doses of them before but they wouldn’t budge.
@@RoastedToastedPoops I live ọ Rochester, MN, so Mayo Clinic is really all we got. I’m sure they have exceptional healthcare but they make you jump through so many hoops before you can get anything. I emailed my doctor today about refilling my med for heart arrhythmias and she told me I need to make an appointment. They have to see you for an appointment for every effing thing. I have never asked for any sort of narcotic either so it’s not like I’m drug seeking. It’s literally for things like hydroquinone and the modafinil was an absolute no. And I actually talked to several docs about the modafinil because I was very persistent. It’s like, you can prescribe things for off label usage, I don’t have narcolepsy but I do have chronic insomnia and think modafinil could possibly be beneficial. They didn’t see it that way…
The most wonderful drug on earth. Truly life changing depending on your situation. It can give you your life back, this is not an exaggeration. Won’t work for everyone of course. You’ll have endless jitter free energy, improved social interactions and anxiety, productivity, better workouts, focus and just more passion for whatever task you are on. Perfect for jetlag and makes 1hr of sleep seem like 8. Does not give you addiction. Personally i use 50mg (using a pillsplitter) + 200mg caffeine with breakfast. I also take it with an antihistamine to avoid possible rashes. The drawbacks for me are that it’s harder to switch off, you also photosensitivity with larger dosages and slight anxiety You have to absolutely nail the dosage through trial and error, the effect on higher dosages can feel extremely different or unpleasant, the caffeine combo is magical. The positive changes and gains in my life since taking modafinil have been unbelievable. I suspect I had undiagnosed ADHD.
I took this medicine probably 17 years ago and it worked for me but I took it three times a day and I have severe ADHD and I’ve tried every stimulant known of that has been prescribed me for the last 17 years. I’m trying to get my Provigil back because I want to be able to function like a normal person. I’m also bipolar And I have other mental health diagnosis is but I thought I have thyroid issues but I swear this medicine works but I was on three pills a day I don’t remember what the strength was but for me and only last for like four hours and then I’d have to take another pill. But I’m either going to get the medication back from my general practitioner or my nurse practitioner. I pray they give it back to me and I’ve tried other stimulants, but this one actually worked for me. Also phentermine works for me for a couple of hours, so maybe they have the same components in them because I’ve tried Adderall and Vyvanse and Ridellan, etc they didn’t do anything I didn’t fill anything didn’t feel better and didn’t feel worse just nothing

Hello Doctor, I am currently taking Modafinil. I suffered from TBI at work. I was working on a split rim tire at work without the steel cage, a necessity to use the forklift to unload the truck on the weekend. I haven't worked since 2006. My neurologist prescribed Provigil many years ago, my first try to get Modafinil filled was denied because it was 850-900 dollars for a month's supply. I gave up, but in a moment of clarity I asked my neurologist again to represcrible Modafinil again and I went to Costco, which was the best Idea yet. Modafinil only costs 38.00 for a month's supply. I'm on 200mg each day and I am a new person. I can help my family and give my father a better quality of life. Thank you for this video and your attention to detail. God Bless You and I will add you to my prayer list .

I think it’s a horrible thing that doctors are so willing to put kids on these drugs I have had conversations with people who work in schools .. teachers or teachers aids. And some seem to think the moment a kid acts up, that they need to be put on these drugs.. school nurses telling parents they need to do this.. I think it’s a crime. All kids act up.. some might have issues going on at home, some might be inclined to day dream … so what, day dreamers often tend to be the creative ones The end result is there’s a good chance that a kid who grows up on adhd meds will become a drug addict as an adult

Is Modafinil an alternative to Adderall? That'd be helpful with the shortage that's occurring right now. I know there's no cross-tolerance and I'd still have to taper off of Adderall. But, is it possible to receive a prescription in the US?
I've been taking this for years for hypersomnia and d/t shift work. I've seen a decrease in the overall length of effectiveness even though I feel it is still effective. Any ideas?
It's great to hear that you've found something that works for you! It's possible that your body has become accustomed to the medication over time, which is why you may not feel the same level of effectiveness. Have you tried adjusting the dosage or frequency of taking it?

Sometimes chemicals in your brain need to be correct which cant be done by meditation, a healthy diet, etc. Sometimes you need medication to help correct these chemical imbalances. Not saying you shouldn't meditate or eat healthy, I do that myself but these medications can help get to the very root of the problem and correct whatever imbalances there are in the brain.

It works but has LOTS of side effects, just like adderal it’s a little safer tho. The newer version Nuvigal is a lot better… But Methelyne Blue works better wo the side effects or crash. It’s quite safe prevents dementia cancer brain fog & protects the brain long term increases oxygen & mitochondrial function It’s so effective I have severe CFS & I stopped taking NVG since being on MB. Look into it the science is off the charts . It’s an Rx that works too well for too many things while actually improving health so big RX stopped selling it & it became a supplement. Shit works & turns the brain on like nothing else & helps perform in ways modafinil can’t. Mo & NVG both definitely help w alertness focus & energy but aren’t good for ur health & enable an unhealthy life style by patching up the consequences. MB does something similar but wo the negative. Just try it first. Worse case u may need something stronger once in a while & can get an Rx for that but MB makes a huge difference & is user & health friendly long term & actually helps prevent disease especially in the brain. It’s a true nootropic meeting the precise definition, unlike Modafinil adderal etc that can increase performance temporarily but can harm the brain in the long term
It sounds like you have done a lot of research on this and have found something that works for you. It's great that you have found a way to increase your alertness, focus, and energy without risking your health. That's wonderful! Have you noticed any other benefits from taking methylene blue?

For some people it slows down so much that it could lead as well to heart dammages (1g at once). But within a medical survey, it helped me quit with cocaïne.
With having severe " undiagnosed" adhd my entire life and finally being diagnosed as an adult. i have tried several different adhd stimulants, they work well also, but differently, but for some reason my brain and body work very well with modafinil . i would like to thank you Dr. Jay, you have excellent content.
I have been proscribed modafinil . Mainly for focus , and loss of memory . I have a n history of depression and anxiety chest pain .. it's been a week since I started taking 50gm of modafinil i do feel awake but related to memory i think it will take time .. i loved this video a lot . Will keep looking forward for more video such as this . ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! It can be difficult to adjust to new medications, and we appreciate that you took the time to share your story with us. How have you been feeling overall since starting modafinil?
Hace un tiempo me cambiaron el metilfenidato porque me causaba taquicardias y ahora con modafinilo todo es más claro, me siento más despierto sin sentirme agitado.
Go to a different doctor. Not all doctors are equal. Go to an urgent care and they're actually willing to help in my experience.
They didn’t see it that way…
awesome. short and to the point. very informative. keep up the awesome uploads
I've suffered from tiredness my whole life!
would this be ideal meds?
The most wonderful drug on earth.
Truly life changing depending on your situation.
It can give you your life back, this is not an exaggeration.
Won’t work for everyone of course.
You’ll have endless jitter free energy, improved social interactions and anxiety, productivity, better workouts, focus and just more passion for whatever task you are on.
Perfect for jetlag and makes 1hr of sleep seem like 8.
Does not give you addiction.
Personally i use 50mg (using a pillsplitter)
+ 200mg caffeine with breakfast.
I also take it with an antihistamine to avoid possible rashes.
The drawbacks for me are that it’s harder to switch off, you also photosensitivity with larger dosages and slight anxiety
You have to absolutely nail the dosage through trial and error, the effect on higher dosages can feel extremely different or unpleasant, the caffeine combo is magical.
The positive changes and gains in my life since taking modafinil have been unbelievable.
I suspect I had undiagnosed ADHD.
Also Perfect for vacations if you wanna skip sleep for one night and go clubbing till the next day 🤪
It doesn't work for me, any solution?
@@funtcat2011 not smart to mix with alcohol though.
what about for creative activities such as write or compose? would you recommend it for a exam or test?
Most doctors aren't educated on modafinil to be honest most are like what and have to look the drug up and think it's something like adderal
Thats exactly what they think. I work 14hr shifts driving a tractor trailer. Already fell asleep behind the wheel. I asked my doc for this and she had this disgusted look on her face as if I was asking her to prescribe me crack. Drs are clowns. Needless to say I acquired my own modafinil because the dr didn't help
That's crazy
My Sleep Medicine doctor prescribed it. He said it should also help with fatigue from my psoriatic arthritis that has caused me to be almost bedridden for the last 3 years. So grateful! My rheumatologist never suggested it.
Can we take modafenil for concentration and propanolol for anxiety together? Bcoz Already am on propanolol. Kindly reply
Im doing my best Doctor, but my life has many options to work with. Be safe on loved. Good night
Look into Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy/Transcranial Magnetic and exogenous ketones
@Xtstyrs Look into Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy/Transcranial Magnetic and exogenous ketones
WTH 900 a month for a couple pills LOL
Simple question: Doas it fk up liver or not.? I'm taking stronger version nuvigil ( armodafinil) for chronic fatigue, but don't know how safe is for liver. Don't wanna end up with fibrosis cirrhosis or drug induced liver injury
I think it should be considered for patients who are struggling with adrenal insufficiency postoperative successful Cushing's syndrome treatment.
Informative. Thank you!
Started taking it for chronic fatigue from my M.S. Day one-massive headache. Day two- drank lots of water with liquid IV and I was ok. Taking 100mg for first week and then 200mg the second week. Hoping this will help give me energy and I won’t be so tired.
thanks for the video! any information on Modafinil's long term effects would be great...
I was just prescribed this medication to help me with my foggy headedness due to parkinson's I am so excited and hope that I have great positive results out of this.
I just picked up my 1-month trial for a couple of chronic medical conditions. I wish us both success!
How is it going for you? I just started 100 mg yesterday for my MS fatigue. I hope it helps. 🙏🏼
On 200 MG a day now. I see a difference when I don't take. But not a super pill
@@justinj4827 i just started this for my chronic fatigue from my neurological condition. how did it work for you ? i started at 100 and now trying 50 and 50 seams to be good for most days
@@john1182 sorry, I am just now seeing this. My neurologist up my dosage to 200 mg a day. Would definitely say it’s helping my cognitive issues and keep me awake through the day.
I think it’s a horrible thing that doctors are so willing to put kids on these drugs
I have had conversations with people who work in schools .. teachers or teachers aids. And some seem to think the moment a kid acts up, that they need to be put on these drugs.. school nurses telling parents they need to do this.. I think it’s a crime. All kids act up.. some might have issues going on at home, some might be inclined to day dream … so what, day dreamers often tend to be the creative ones
The end result is there’s a good chance that a kid who grows up on adhd meds will become a drug addict as an adult
I take 1/4 tablet. It helps especially when I have no pot. It is anti depressive.
Good information. I would have liked to hear about the duration of the effects. Adderall for me is too long lasting and has many negative side effects associated with amphetamines that I don't like. Thanks for your work in putting this video together!
My daughter was introduced to modafinil 200mgthis term in school it's almost a month now she's complaining of headache dizziness and anxiety pls advice
maybe try a lower dose like half 200mg seems like a lot to start off on
I find if I take it while tired I stay tired for much longer. I have to be feeling good to start with before taking it.
I have been using it 2/3 times a week for more than 20 years. Dose 200mg
Great video & I like the Plague Doctor Mask that you have on display
4:51 you said Adderall. Are you referring to Modafinil?
What a good drug! No effect on the body, reduces your anxiety levels and everything... Modafinil is truly magic.
@@rev_schubert5289 any drug that effects dopamine unfortunately has a effect on you body and when you don't have it you will have side effects
Great review. Thank you
200mg is overkill. I cut the pill to 50 or 100. 50mg works synergistically well with coffee for me.
Same here I’ll refer you to this mate who sold em to me, he also deals with other psychedelic products and ships discreetly

Depends on the individual 100mg does very little to anything for me. I have to take 200mg. Each person has to find that optimal dose for them.
For the people that it’s intended for it’s not. I have narcolepsy
that's what i like about modafinil doesn't give you that nasty euphoric effect i would rather not be euphoric but would still want that awake benefit
Meanwhile I’m trying to get suvorexant prescriptions so I can fall asleep, because CBT-I is a useless placebo. Modafinal just sounds like a bipolar hypomanic episode to me, especially with the loss of appetite and trouble getting to sleep. Modafinal is banned in sporting events by the way, unless you have narcolepsy.
Modafinil does not help my memory. And sometimes I think it makes me feel ADD rather than focused. It's basically caffeine without a comedown.
How long does the drug take to be effective? I have been taking 100mg each morning for ten days but feel no improvement with adhd symptoms. Thank you. ❤️
20-30 min only. You'll notice it very quickly.
Is Modafinil an alternative to Adderall? That'd be helpful with the shortage that's occurring right now. I know there's no cross-tolerance and I'd still have to taper off of Adderall. But, is it possible to receive a prescription in the US?
Yes it’s a healthier alternative
Nothing will replace the feeling of an amphetamine
Dr jay, hi! can I intake lion's mane capsule and modafinil together?
I’m considering this, can I contact you? I have diagnosed ADD and Sleep Apnea.
It’s really good stuff , but for me 50mg is the max dose for me
I've been taking this for years for hypersomnia and d/t shift work.
I am on it a week with my antidepressants how long does it take to work for depression I don't feel any better
I'm sorry, but I can't provide medical advice here. Consult your doctor.
I have narcolepsy which is very rare and it made me lose my job my friend my law school degree. Modafinil saved my life.
What if you’re super sleepy taking 200mg? Not all the time, or each time, but can have super sleepy periods during the times it should be helping to stay awake? Also… can sleep very deeply during the day?
I’m also not sure that I “feel” much of anything in the way of focus? Had to stop straterra d/t horrible side effects. Any thoughts?
It sounds like the 200mg dose of your medication is not working as intended. I recommend consulting with your doctor about adjusting the dose or switching medications. How long have you been taking this dose?
@@DrJayFeldman been taking it less than a month. Titrated myself up to the 200mg dose he scripted. I’ve been trying a split dosing 100 AM and 100 before noon. It seems to keep me more awake, without the super sleepy episodes, but still not seeing an increase of focus or any of the other things people have commented benefiting from.
I really really liked Straterra, as it was the first time my brain felt like it was operating correctly… but… the side effects for me were horrendous. This was my doctors second choice because I also have GAD.
Do this pill help with human performance and better memory?

is frequent urination is a side effect of this drug?
I am having my competitive exam after 50 days & due to my bad sleeping habit , like I used to sleep for 12 hours like for whole day & now when I am trying to wake up at 11am I don't feel fresh I feel groggy can I take this medication just for 21days to form a habit
That's a really tough situation to be in! It's really commendable that you're taking initiative to improve your sleeping habits. Have you spoken to a medical professional about this medication? It would be important to get their advice before starting this.
Yes ,I have asked but he clearly disagreed by saying this has many side effects he even said heart attack...can you suggest should I use it or not

Modafinil gives me nasty anxiety. It used to work wonders, now not at all.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! Taking a break from medication can be beneficial but it depends on the individual. Modafinil is a stimulant and it can be helpful for staying focused and alert. It is important to consult with your doctor before making any changes to your medication. How long have you been taking Modafinil?

How do I even know you're a real doctor?
Yes, I am a real doctor! I am licensed and certified to practice medicine. How can I help you today?
That’s probably why some doctors don’t want to prescribe it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣they probably think oh this literally like the drug from limitles nzt-48🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have a lot of problems with anxiety, when I take Modafinil, it makes me so strong and secure and I get positive thoughts in social events. A little voice, like grow up, don't be a pussy and there just human just like you! I get so many other benifits from it as well. That list is endless, literally I feel like a rocket taking off. I don't need much, 50mg that I take twice. But there are side effects for me, sleeping is very hard and I'm getting pain above my ribs (not in the chest). I start doing things, I normally have problems with ADD. This medicine is wonderfull!
I just saw the same exact post on two other modafinil videos
That’s a great thumbnail buddy where’s the brain scans wtf

Let's get on it, 🤞 🖌️
Worse drug. Iv had almost every side effect thats listed. But i had to stop taking it because I had a rash and that's listed as a dangerous side effect .
Will these wake you up??
Modafinil can help with wakefulness, but always consult a physician.
Or change your lifestyle and include meditation and a healthy diet etc
This is a drug for sleep deprivation
unfortunately i've been trying that too, clean diet, more exercise, but every day at 11 am to 3 pm I always get narcolepsy, so either I trying to fight it (which useless cause in the end I will get more sleepy) or I just take a sleep (but that where is the time I must be productive), so yup modafinil really help me for fight the day
U said what naw to hard I’ll take the pill for 100
Sometimes chemicals in your brain need to be correct which cant be done by meditation, a healthy diet, etc. Sometimes you need medication to help correct these chemical imbalances. Not saying you shouldn't meditate or eat healthy, I do that myself but these medications can help get to the very root of the problem and correct whatever imbalances there are in the brain.
@@landyn8060 it's pretty amazing I read a study on modafinil on chronic pain patients and I have short fiber neuropathy among other pain conditions the study said something like it's good for us because it does have that antidepressant effect and it helps extreme fatigue so I can actually get up outta being bedridden ..Short fiber neuropathy I'd say is one of the most painful conditions you can have besides CRPS well I feel it is in my case atleast because it's affected my whole body but as I write this at 3am I know I'm gonna have to go to sleep soon I took it way too late in the day lie 8 but I usually stay up till 1 at the at the latest I started using it 2 days ago again for the first time in 4 years but back then before my disease I used it for stocking shelves 3rd shift for 10 hours a shift if I didn't have it back then I don't think I could of worked I asked my brother do you wanna try one he refused but but fast forward to now not only is it helping with the fatigue and such and my focus I can never stay on a paper or book I'm trying to learn to better my health or whatever..modafinil I am so focused and read forever and it feels like the information is understood better and lastly I'm going to search up modafinil and pain because my arms and legs haven't been at this good feeling in a long time..it helps pain for me for sure gonna try and get provigil prescribed and I wonder if it better? Theres always methamphetamine lol. Its prescribable.
Yeah, let’s give meth to kids and then not go to prison.
It works but has LOTS of side effects, just like adderal it’s a little safer tho. The newer version Nuvigal is a lot better…
But Methelyne Blue works better wo the side effects or crash. It’s quite safe prevents dementia cancer brain fog & protects the brain long term increases oxygen & mitochondrial function
It’s so effective I have severe CFS & I stopped taking NVG since being on MB.
Modafinil vs Teva Adderall? What's better people?
It depends on the person. Everyone reacts differently to different medications. What do you think?
@Dr. Jay Feldman Hey Doctor! I don't know, never tried Modafinil, but I'm thinking of trying it (because of the Adderall shortage, and my doctor suggested it). I was shocked to find out a few minutes ago that it's actually affordable. Saw it for $20 for 30, 200mg pills...cheaper than the 30mg er Lannett I had been taking. Can that be right?
