Having a parrot is never ending cycle of cleaning, being in a clean room for a few minutes and needing to clean again because feathers, poop, feather dust, food will be everywhere again :D My computer needs constant vacuuming because inside of it looks like if someone put sand inside. Oh and those desk mats are great, I have one under the cage because Bruno somehow poops outside even when he is inside, plus those are easier to clean than wooden floor. Vinegar +water is great to clean poop stains, nothing work like vinegar, it smells but is non toxic way to clean that never ending mess :D When it comes to cage bedding I found out that paper towels works good, especially because Bruno throws the water bowl in that cage and soaks everything so it is cheap and eco friendly way to keep that cage clean. When it comes to his big cage, I use old paper sheets I was sketching on, now I am happy I wasn't throwing those away, just kept those since i was a teen and now those are working as a cage bedding, obviously those with pencil and pen sketches, nothing heavily colored or painted, since those can be toxic. Otherwise I am buying those paper rolls in IKEA, also works great.
my late conure had a real good idea to keep his cage clean. he would poop in/on the other 2 parrot cages and the parakeet cages. he would even take his bath in the other parrots cages water dishes to keep his water clean, many good memories of this guy.
I've used washable dog/puppy mats (that soak up liquid and protect the wooden flooring) under the birds cages and tree for about 2 years now. Mine are about 180*180 cm and it works really well. I usually just have to pick up fresh food pieces and vacuum the dried poop once in a while, while machine washing the mats every couple weeks. I don't use detergent when washing them, since they soak up liquids, to protect the birds from harmful chemicals, and they turn out clean. Would recommend!
the fun of cleaning the bird room!!! they get possessive of cages and don't want you in them,. they want to keep their piles of shredded wood, toys, blankies, etc. my jenday conure would watch my cleaning duties like a hawk seeing if i missed a spot. my 17 yr old jenday died on 10-30-23. i really miss him hoping on my shoulders and back watching my movements and being a part of things. my qp and green cheek want a clean cage and room but will squawk when i pull out the vacuum cleaner or mop bucket. maybe i missed a spot to them. i miss my little yellow buddy. room cleaning isn't the same w/o him. my jenday named "snarky" for his attitude clung to me and even tuned in to my gal pal of 3 yrs now. she was the only he'd let take pictures of him and respond to her talking. he would watch her close when she changed the poopy papers around the cages.
Your flock sounds amazing 🥺 Im so sorry for your losses, may they rest in peace and you knowing you gave them a wonderful life. They sound so full of personality haha 😂 meanwhile my sun will make the mess right over me and watch me clean it up 🙄
mine do the same things.make messes to watch us clean them up and egg us on. thanks for your comment. it means a lot to me. i gave my jenday a good life and no guilt feelings now.the rest of my" flock " miss him. too quiet in the birdroom now.@@mimisbirdhouse
i'm sorry for your loss.my jenday conure passed away last week. i'm grieving hard, don't care what people say about getting emotional over him. we've heard the ' it's justa -----" from ignorant people. they get in our daily life and are like family members in my opinion. they pass away and it cuts deep. @@SimBits

Ahh thank you ❤️
Hi I really like how you clean your bird cage love your videos
Thank you 🥰🥰
Hi Mimi have you tried a steam cleaner for your mat??
Ive been interested in it! I know another person who uses it for their cages too and it looks really good.
Where is kiwi
Kiwi sadly passed away awhile ago 😭
O my god I have some time from watching this channel and awww well rest in peace little guy
😔
What kind of mat are you using in the bottom of the cage? Is it like a waterproof one? 9:38
They are polycarbonate office mats :)
My birds lose a lot of feathers so a friend has asked me to keep them to make dreamcatchers with them haha
What a clever idea!
Hi.. are those branches from a outside tree ? 🌲
Yes they are, they are from tree wood that is safe for them such as maple, apple and willow. They have been sanded and cleaned prior to use :)
@@mimisbirdhouse how do I clean them? 🤔 Thank you for quick response. 😊
Ya. Where is kiwi. I haven’t seen him in a while.
Kiwi tragically passed away over a month ago, she took a break from youtube to grieve.
Oh my. That’s terrible
