One of the number 1 rules when assessing Ireland is never judge how a song will do based on its LLS performance. It needs to be elevated massively but I fully expect that to happen.
What about all others that did nothing on LLAS and then also nothing in eurovision? Bambie wasn't the norm it was an exception, so there is no guarantee she will massively elevate it like bambie did.
@andrebastos8932 even Brooke had a massive boost in staging and costumes. Her song wasn't this good vocally. Her late late performances was dreadful but passable at the eurovision just in a tough semi
I was full Bobbi Arlo before the show, but unfortunately the performance in the studio didn't really work in the night (i think it wouldve done AMAZING with Eurovision production, but that Late Late studio is hard to work with) Before last night i thought Laika Party was generic europop throwaya but Emmy's performance completely turned me aroujd. Most polished on the night, fun staging and vibe that i can seeing growing with eurofans over months and oress tour etc Also its hooky and catchy and growing on me more and more. Norway & Ireland have a big connection anyway, so overall ik actually happy!
I love anything that sounds like modern Aqua so this is obviously going to the top of my playlist and favorites along with Belgium's Red Sebastian with Strobe Lights! Here's to Birgo tomorrow in Iceland winning with Stormchaser too, eh?
Both of them are the same level... sure, and true! And best at it there, as I watched both shows... Now... let's wait for the super Saturdays and the other countries... For what I have checked and heard.. these two you mentioned will have to work really hard to even get into the final!
I was torn between Powerplay and Laika Party however I see the sonic writing on the wall this year after selections in Belgium amongst others... 90's House Music is finally old enough to be cool again. So dust off those Aqua, Venga Boys and Eiffel 65 CD's y'all! They're gonna be worth a fortune to Gen Z hipsters real soon!
Bobbi Arlo didn’t performance wasn’t great. I did read she had been ill, it was very quiet, no energy. Possibly a mic issue. I think a lot of people voted for Laika Party instead. Powerplay is a fab song but the performance let it down 😕
To be fair guys, there is a Bruno Mars song called APT that is storming the charts and it's another "childish" song that became an earworm so who knows
Most of the other singers didn't sound great tbh. That's why Emmy won. And the TV show is so low budget that it makes it hard for the more arty songs to come across at their best, so that means an obvious pop song comes accross ok. I think Ireland needs to give their artists more budget otherwise it's just really easy for an experienced scandipop singer to just come on and wipe the floor.
"Laika Party" is futuristic cuteness, boundless joy, an outburst of sweetest energy and the epitome of catchiness: Such a heart-melting combination of modern pop appeal and solaceful nostalgia, wrapped in a lyrical story that makes me freak out in the most positive sense because it is so endlessly lovely and cute!💖🐶🚀 And all of this is being performed by a lovely lady who made me grin like a Cheshire cat immediately, and who comes across as so genuine and humble! I'm usually listening to quite different genres, and Bambie was much more up my alley when it comes to my usual taste, but EMMY is pure gold and she looks to incredibly happy to represent Ireland! I'm absolutely sure that this will do really, really well in Basel, and I'm so proud of the Irish people who realized that this was the performance they had to vote for! And now I will be spending night and day only thinking about this special dog that got her rightful tribute after all these decades, while having this ecstatically addictive chorus in my mind all the time!👽🐶💚 Go, Éire - you know I love you and I will have your back no matter what!💖🐶🚀 Congratulations to Emmy - a more than well-deserved victory and I will be rooting for you all the way!⭐️🌌
I just don't find this endearing. Im not annoyed by it, I don't hate it, im mostly just ?????? Unless she has the same level of staging bambi had, I don't see this going far.
We had an opportunity to continue the move forward and instead we've stepped back......the stupid Late Late set up gives no sense of what an artist (Bobbi!!!) can produce when given a fair shot. Bobbi had the best song & look but she had zero opportunity to showcase the product in its entirety because of the LLS limitations. I don't expect us to qualify but if we do that's about as good as it'll get 😢
I wish I could bring myself to like this one, but it just feels childish and simple and a little too flippant given the subject matter, coming off as juvenile revisionism and not a respectful ode to Laika. I think I could forgive that in junior Eurovision, but this just ends up rubbing me the wrong way. It also doesn't feel connected to Ireland, which it doesn't have to, but if it isn't going to, then I really want to love the song and understand why it's the best option. I'm so sad that neither Bobbi nor Niyl did particularly well. Oh well, not what I was hoping for, but best of luck, Ireland. I'm always rooting for you regardless.
@lunar4614 I get that, I don't really mind the bits imagining Laika having a party in space or heaven or what have you. When I said juvenile revisionism, I'm more referring to lines like "she saved the world" or "she wasn't afraid" or "she loved to fly," which all just feel like questionable ways to portray the event. If I knew someone who couldn't swim, and they died drowning after being pushed off of a dock, I wouldn't eulogize them by saying they loved to swim. It wouldn't be true, and it feels gross, even if I want to live in a world where they either didn't die or at least died doing something they loved, that's just not an appropriate reimagining of events in my mind. So when the song basically says that this scared dog died doing what she loved and saved the world doing it that feels gross and inappropriate, even if we do concede that for humans to go to space we needed practical knowledge about what space would do to living creatures. I hope Laika is somewhere peaceful, awesome and great as well and if that's a party in the sky that's great but I just get the vibe that this song's lyrics minimize the real event to make a more convenient and cute song out of it and that ruins my ability to enjoy the song.
As if being an MGP finalist from the past is a bad thing... /s If anything that's a stamp of approval from arguably the second best national final after Melodifestivalen of course!
The winning song is quite catchy. Probably the only song for years that actually will give us a decent chance. Samantha Mumba, The Girl from Galway and the girl from Dublin (the trained soprano) were good too. Don't know how the guy from Limerick got selected to sing. He can't sing. He was flat. And the dancers were bad too.
It's totally different from last year. It's very catchy, but doesn't allow much development for dramatic staging and cinematography concepts like last year's song.
I was actually in the studio. That is genuinely how she sounded live. Pretty much the same as the recording but you could tell it was live.
Yup, I watched it with a VPN, ok, but yes... she does sound like that 100% .. all real!!!! I thought she was the best of the bunch...!
It’s not autotuned she just has a high voice!
nooo... seriously... that is her voice... she sounds like that even in a conversation...
@ yeah and she is the SWEETEST!
HOLY HIGH GHOST OF AQUA! AKA LENE!
It's auto tuned
She sings on tiktok live alot and its like that all the time baby voice ish
One of the number 1 rules when assessing Ireland is never judge how a song will do based on its LLS performance.
It needs to be elevated massively but I fully expect that to happen.
On the basis of Bambie Thug this is true. What makes.me think twice is that this entry looks more complete than Bambie Thugs was at that stage.
What about all others that did nothing on LLAS and then also nothing in eurovision?
Bambie wasn't the norm it was an exception, so there is no guarantee she will massively elevate it like bambie did.
@ Brooke was massively elevated also…the only entry that struggled just as much on the LLS was WY largely because they had a nothing song.
@andrebastos8932 even Brooke had a massive boost in staging and costumes. Her song wasn't this good vocally. Her late late performances was dreadful but passable at the eurovision just in a tough semi
I love it , I heard it today for the first time and reacted to it and literally can't stop listening, it's on repeat 😂🎉❤ I can't help it
To give context this is kind of music that a lot of Irish people just eat up, it will be all over Irish radio and get loads of streams too.
Pre Bambi?! … it’s not like Ireland hasn’t won it 7 times or anything! It’s a great bop! 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
What a unique voice ella has
Her normal speaking voice is an indicator of how good she would sing
You know how desperately wanted this so win! Omagaa! Eurovision needs a songs like this one❤ a meaningful banger!
Loved your intro 😂👌
Also loved your comment... "it's about the dog that went to space... random" 😂😂😂👍
I was full Bobbi Arlo before the show, but unfortunately the performance in the studio didn't really work in the night (i think it wouldve done AMAZING with Eurovision production, but that Late Late studio is hard to work with)

Norway & Ireland have a big connection anyway, so overall ik actually happy!
OMG you and OZ together!!
so 2021, love you guys!!
🤮
Norway might actually give us a point this year.
No cause you wont qualify with that song
This did better than I expected and was actually fun! With some hard work and better staging it should qualify.
It's just fresh but yeah the staging needs to be a lot better
It will be for sure, the Late Late show does not lend itself to good staging
I love anything that sounds like modern Aqua so this is obviously going to the top of my playlist and favorites along with Belgium's Red Sebastian with Strobe Lights! Here's to Birgo tomorrow in Iceland winning with Stormchaser too, eh?
I have this tied for first with Luxembourg. Both of them are so good.
this one is not
@@radosawrusnak7700 I’m just saying that’s my opinion.

@@radosawrusnak7700 To each their own, this is much better and catchier than Luxembourg for me
I hate how everyone’s saying Luxembourg is too JESC coded, yet I’ve seen no one say that about Laika Party. IMO Laika Party is more JESC I think
I'm not worried about staging. Bambie's at Eurovision was completely different to what we saw on Eurosong and this definitely will be as well.
This is a party anthem masterpiece ❤

Powerplay sounded like 90 % playback / backing vocals.
@@Maypril1894 I agree. I couldn’t put my finger on it. That’s exactly what it sounded like and a bad one at that.
Its a Brilliant Song, thank the Lord for EMMY to represent Ireland…costumes need work from Samantha Mumba for the Dancers…enjoy the Votes :) 🎉
To be fair guys, there is a Bruno Mars song called APT that is storming the charts and it's another "childish" song that became an earworm so who knows
Even tho the final is tomorrow please react to Heaven Sent, Juno, and Kant from their semis. Malta is serving Kant this
Winner winner
I prefer her song from MGP 2021 but I’m so happy to see her at Eurovision because I know it was one of her dreams! 💜

it's ridiculous...

Babe... Not always Ireland has to win ok?
Just deal with it 😂
It doesn't need the dramatic Bambie staging as such.
Can't see us getting out of the semi finals
Oh but for sure…..😊
C’mon now… 😂 this sounds like a junior Eurovision song, Ireland could do so much more
I,m spaniard and i' ve heard that eurofans said that our song is outdated....and what is this thiiiiiis?..have we come back to the 90's??
And people are also saying this is outdated, both are.
And Luxemburgo..Latvia..Albania...Eurovisión is another planet outside of the real world
Yes music is going back to old sounds. Google APT. by Rosé and Bruno Mars. You will see this.
Just reacting to the songs in the Danish melody grand prix??

Emmy was the deserved winner
Yeah it's definitely live, there is some vocal on the track but she's definitely live. She sounded the sane when she was in MGP in 2020
One of worst Irish entries; the song is bad and the singer's voice sounds like child
It sounds like "the Vengabus is coming"
If they put them in Fantastic Four type 50s outfits I will love this.
It's the winner
I fear Ireland is NQ this year again 😢
Not going to happen 😂
💯

I think of it differently, that shes paying tribute to laika hoping shes having a party up in space even to this day.

@lunar4614 Laika died horribly. Her heart nearly exploded
Noosh, when are you going to react to PZE25? Serbia waits for your reaction :D
They can pull on pet lovers to push them through the semis if they can communicate Laika in the staging
Good luck to her and her brother on the keyboard there ,,

BAMBI THUG: CAN I COME TO SPACE?
EMMY: NO YOU CANT. LAIKA PARTY IS JUST FOR ME MY DOG AND IRELAND IN BASEL.
YOU HAD YOUR TURN
You sound so drunk 😂
The song is so cute but poweplay was a much stronger entry
It is ok not as good as last year
It’s better
It's totally different from last year. It's very catchy, but doesn't allow much development for dramatic staging and cinematography concepts like last year's song.
Bobby should have won, we are back to basic ahh song… but I’m in for this song ig
I totally agree . Bobby had a WAY better tune . Very catchy. Why on earth is this girl representing Ireland?
Bobbi gave a weak performance on the night though
I voted 8 times for bobbi just to get her through but it wasn’t enough unfortunately
@ It's a shame. I think Bobbi could have won it for Ireland ,this year.
For me it’s a copy of Keiino.
it's just a copypaste from My superhero Rob
Okay, so Ireland is not qualifiying this year.
They will Q easily lol
Maybe in outer space without any competition 😂
Well she's from Norway so maybe the Scandinavians will support
It won’t qualify. Will just blend in with the likes of Poland and Iceland last year
We're hipsters!
I am.. 😅...a success in the streets of Berlin! 😜
so epic seeing you guys all together!!
hey yo react to czechia acustic version! please
So Ireland is being represented by foreigners ,Samantha Mumbas song was better but hay wtf do I know
Nahhhhh this is definitely better than Samantha’s song
Samantha Mumba is only half Irish so this is an ironic comment. Ireland represented Norway in 1996 and won so chill
worst Irish song in 20 years😢😢😢😢😮😮😮😮
Like Mickey Mouse in the Disneyland - didn’t like very cheesy
I sense NQ for Ireland this year 😐
Horrible vocals
???
