GORGEOUS. STUNNING. EYE-CATCHING. All. The. Things. Dramatic, dark background cards are probably my most favorite of all the cards you design. You have such a talent with them and the color combinations you use which are always so striking! I’m in awe every time. 🤩😍
You have a gift for creating beautiful cards on dark cardstock! These are lovely! And it pushes me to experiment with some darker background colors, too. 😊
Ginak has some very nice dark cardstocks. Some of my favorites are Blue Denim, Tranquil Teal, In the Navy, Fresh Asparagus, and Blue Raspberry. She also has inks in those colors as well as some additional ones like Wild Wisteria and Plum Punch that you could use to create your own dark backgrounds with.
Such beautiful cards! I love the fantasy colors of the hummingbirds; I often get "stuck" trying to make things always look realistic. The dark backgrounds are so striking, and show that dark doesn't have to equal somber or serious! Thank you, Yana, for some first class inspiration!
Most of the comments appropriately so only use one word of their response to these cards today. It is beautiful or gorgeous. What else can we say? Stunning!? yes! I really like how you describe your thoughts on card making as you go too. You’re just a Winner! Lol.
These cards are gorgeous! I really do love the darker backgrounds. I admit I usually go the white, cream or natural, but I will be trying the darker colors to see how my loved ones like them as well.
I have always loved the contrast of a dark background... it really does make things pop. It was very evident on the screen as you first had your die cuts on your white surface... such a great video! Thank you!
These are beautiful cards Yana. I love the bold colours on the dark background and your arrangements are wonderful. You are a real source of inspiration for me with my crafting.
Stunning cards and loved what you did with them. The flowers really made the hummingbird stand out. Loved the colors of the cardstock and all your techniques. Thanks so much.
I am new to following you, and I love your cards here. I have used a few times a dark background but never thought of using ink in the background...on white cards but not dark. Thank you for all that you share to help us all.❤
I love these beautiful card designs and the bright colors you used. The dark backgrounds really make them shine. Thanks too for sharing alternative sources for ink, paper, brushes.. I have been looking for the dark paper at Spellbinders and not seeing them at all. Thanks Yana.
@Yana Smakula: Hi Yana! Love your creativity. Was wondering that I ordered cloudscape dies but they look different from your video. Is there a different set you used? Thank you
Gorgeous cards Yana! I have to disagree with you about the yellow Spellbinders tape. It constantly tears my paper, especially the new cotton paper for the betterpress. It's so frustrating and I'm not the only one with that problem. Argh! Anyhow, TYSM for sharing! Your cards are very impactful!
BetterPress paper is different, it is made differently, and it is porous, so the tape sticks much more to this type of cardstock. It does depend on the cardstock. It works great for me for the colored cardstock from Spellbinders. I'm glad you like the cards and enjoyed the video :) Thank you!
Yana the die you used for clouds does not look like the Spellbinders Cloudscape Background Etched dies. Did they change them or is yours something different. Thanks ❤

@@Yana.Smakula after looking I think it was the cloud die that came with the set. Sorry. ❤️ I just LOVE your videos. Thank you so very much for responding. ❤️❤️
Dark backgrounds are definitely stunning but your color combinations give cards that WOW factor. Gorgeous!❤
Thank you so much!
Absolutely beautiful cards. I love them all. The dark backgrounds with the bright hummingbird & flower colors really pop.

I don't have any other Cloud dies, so they must be Spellbinders. Let me check on the website
