    Have the same issue with having to move the light fixture over to be centered over vanity. This was very helpful, thank you!

    Did you drill extra holes to mount to the light bracket?, did you put your terminations in the j box?

    Do the wire connections not need to be stuffed back into the jbox?

    I don't have a junction box can you use a stud instead?

    Great video! How does one person do this as you do? How do we connect the wires while holding the fixture? It looks like you connected two wires, which you use to keep the fixture suspended while you connect the other wires. This part is not clear to me and thanks in advance for your guidance.

    Did you still connect the ground wires to the mounting bracket after you moved it?

    This is why I never mount a junction box for vanity lights during rough in. I simply weave the wire through the studs at roughly 6 1/2' off the floor. Once vanity & mirror are in, I am able to cut the box in perfectly centered with a hole saw, reach in and grab the wire, pop the box in, and mount the light.

      You don't install the pancake box during rough-in and prefer to retrofit it???? It sounds like you hide your joints In the wall... Gross

    greetings mr. paul; was there not two holes in the base plate that lined up with the wall box? seems it would be even stronger to use them all.put the bulbs in first, it would be easier......................g

    Good Job. Might add: Flip the breaker off and check for power at the box first.

    Always cover the drain if you are going to use the sink to hold screws. Stuff a piece of plastic or paper to temporarily cover the drain.

    They are easy to install but a bit of advice, never put bulbs in with bare hands. The oils on your fingers will shorten the life of the bulbs. A simple surgical glove on one hand will be all you need. I agree with the choice of directing it downwards. Up will only collect dust.

      Even with LED’s?

    • @thelostarchivesserialvault5353
      @thelostarchivesserialvault5353 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@htownelectrican yes, think of the fingerprints you leave and what happens when some bulbs warm up

      @@htownelectrican You're spot on Chris. LEDs emit very little heat so you don't have to wear gloves. Anytime a light source emits heat like halogens or incandescent bulbs you should wear gloves. The issue is the high heat from those bulbs heating up the oil from your hands, that creates a hot spots on the bulb.
