Jefferson County Longrifle Winter Rendezvous

The Jefferson County Longrifles is a blackpowder shooting club dedicated to preserving the art and usage of flintlock and sidelock percussion muzzleloaders.
The annual Winter Rendezvous is a weekend of competition shooting and reenactment with authentic dress and living conditions from the 17th century.

I was at that shoot my first winter shoot was fortunate to be taken in by some of guys there who allowed me to stay at their camp and share their fire hope to make it this up coming winter!

Funny thing, in the Colonial period, men took pride in being able to hit their target with one shot. On the way west they had repeaters or faster loaders, not so much.
