Ghana and Ivory Coast have simpler traditions. We did the same exact thing for my grandmother when she passed she was 108.

Wow 2 cows, when it comes to Muslims and donations they are the best, they do soo well in giving which brings a lot of blessings. 102 year wow. More food for everyone to enjoy thanks Tati for taking us along, this is indeed celebration not funeral 😀

I just love my people!!! You see how this woman (and others in this video) speaking the Twi language like their own? Also some of the food items mentioned here are not even Northerner/Muslim food; however, they're making them because they live in a diverse community and they want everyone to be welcome and find something to eat.

The tradition also means they are eternal friends if any tribe attack one the other will jump into the war without asking questions, there is a lot going on it is not just about communal cooking. A lot of ancient covenant fulfillment going on, representatives of tribes, family heads are all here representing.

I knew she was Muslim before her pictures pop up, I recognized my way of funerals right away.Three day cooking but I won’t call it celebration, no matter what people got to eat.Everybody socializing, praying for the passed soul, crying less and keeping busy, sharing memories about the person so be good 😂😂.

This is really wonderful, tradition to the core. I feel so happy watching the team work of the women cooking different foods as team. Though there was too much talking but in a place place full of women , that's what we do. Nigeria 🇳🇬 also eat Maasa but not as funneral snack , we used to eat every morning when I was a child before going to primary school with plenty of sugar sprinkled on it. I am not sure it still exist in Nigeria now. Africans , we are blessed. May the soul of the woman rest in peace. The most interesting part for me is the exchange of gifts between the family of the dead . What a culture ! 👏

Taty! This video is super amazing. Again this was a different twist from food being the central theme. What I gathered is that there is a community of people within Sunyani who hail from Mossi and Dagomba heritage. Beautiful to see, and the acceptance of diversity of origin is what makes Ghana also fun to live in. That highlights the diversity within Sunyani which otherwise others will not know about. You are educating us on many levels. Great Job💥💥! Great to see how the celebration of life is conducted, and how the funds are solicited and provided. Sister Amina and a few faces from past videos were seen. That to your audience demonstrates how plugged in you are into a very vibrant and caring culture. In addition, I did see one of your daughters (Sami?) in the background and must say she is the living experience of a great informal education which will serve her super well one day. You are a great mother. Thanks for sharing and keep the content flowing!

Point of corrections , not Muslim funeral but rather traditional. This is not part of Islam. Because in Islam if someone dies we don't cook or set fire in that house, the neighbours around are the ones supposed to bring food and drinks (water)ect into the house until three days before they start to cook but if there are no neighbours around then they can cook for themselves. Note: after three of funeral, what ever is done (40days , party, ect) is not part of Islam but rather tradition
