MV grab yourself a fuel injection bod from Triumph!!.......Triumph grab yourself a designer from MV......job done!
+Neil Cole (Smoothound675) Throttle is perfect on the newer ones with the updates
Exactly what I wanted to say ! Mv looks so sexy Daytona not so much
These reviews are getting even better, covering a wider range of technical info and ride issues that the average person wants to know.
Plus the sound issues have been tackled.
Great job MCN loving the changes and HD videos :)
The amount of times they use the word "refined" it can almost be a drinking game.
Nice work again Mickey! Thanks!
Great work. Keep it up guys.
First of all, I wanna congratulate to you for the bikes review you uploaded...This video is special for me because I'm italian and in summer i drive this road every week with my friends on our bikes and everytime we stop at the bar where you stopped at the beginning of the video...this road is awesome and it is called "passo del muraglione", let me know when you are gonna come back to my region!!
p.s. in summer out of the bar there are many many bikers with extremely rare and nice bikes
Fortunate to have owned a 675SE Triumph - best bike I have ever had since my RD350LC - total class and unbelievable sound
Daytona 675 all the way baby
great productions guys.. keep using that mic you are using .. no wind noise = thumbs up
I love my 675 so much.. Only had it for a week or so. I already have about 100 miles on it!
@Astosce where abouts is this as i'm riding to mugello for the moto gp is this on the way? roads look awesome i can't wait!
@DSJeffers
What did u have b4 the 675?
From the things you guys discribe in the video, the MV Agusta's problems seem to be due to inferior programming/electronics.
I bet if you hand it to the right tuner, the F3 will make a fantastic bike. But it's a shame that they couldn't figure things out properly from the factory
hey,
where can i get this nice leather suite from alpinestars with all these nice mcn logos etc.?!? is it possible to buy it somewhere?????
thanks.
What was going on at 1:55?? I looked like he stopped paying attention for a moment but the video cuts out
@StigRossi I was looking at a Ducati too but the Triumph dealership was closer to home lol.. Thanks enjoy yours too!
Agusta is nice no doubt about it, but give me the Daytona any day!
F3 looks amazing, sounds amazing, and my understanding is very flick-able. I just think it needs a different engine mapping. Looking forward to it coming to the states.
what does that mean quickshifter, working through the gearbox without using the clutch?
@MrWeasel1984 this is "Passo del Muraglione", you can find it on google maps, with street view also ;)... it starts from Dicomano, and it's about 30kms far from the Mugello circuit
Please do a Track Comparison with these two bikes!
how can you test these bikes with those temperature???
They both look great. I think MV is best at big, exotic super-sport bikes when cost is not an issue. To make a top middleweight for a competitive price is harder, specially going against Triumph, who is been doing it now for many years, often taking top honors when compared to the best Japanese, Italian and German bikes.
I appreciate your input, really want a daytona 675/R for a first bike though probably should get a cheap one first though that won't break my heart if i try learn wheelie it and fall off
Thomas GLover you can buy r6s from like 2002 cheap as fuck
i went into a ninja 300 when i started riding about 8 months ago and i found that to be good fun. about 3 months after i upgraded into the 2016 triumph 675R and it is souch a gorgeous, powerful and magnificent bike. very race oriented. but i always felt that fear of droping her and being extra careful for the price it governs. the best 600cc all around but it is expensive. if i could re do the purchase i probably would of gone with a used 2011 model and paid cash to enjoy the hell out of it
if you want to be a skilled rider, i recommend going smaller for a first bike.
Please do a video review of the new MV Agusta Brutale 1090R (not RR)
love the sound of that MV
Iv ridden both bikes and LOVE the Triumph but something about the F3 pushed my buttons. It fits me perfectly and I really enjoyed how the bike felt & behaved. It was the updated F3. :D
what exactly is a slipper clutch?
i stop at my local bike dealer, they sell many brands including Triumph and MV. one of the salesmen said the MV is not even in the same league as the Daytona sure, it looks the goods but that is were it ends he said the fueling is like riding a 2 stroke and they do not handle as good as the strandard 675 let alone the R, and he does know bikes he has raced bikes for over 25 years. anyway im taking one for a squirt saturday. have to agree alexi626 they are the best looking bikes on the market.
could you sign link?
@MrWeasel1984 It's near to Varese, where there is the mv agusta factory, there are a lot of hills here in Lombardy, but Mugello is in Tuscany :|
2012 Daytona 675R was the best looking Daytona Triumph has made. Really pissed they switched from the under tail exhaust. Ruins the classic Daytona look.
+1Slo_Daytona i much prefer the bottom exit design. looks less bulky and race oriented.
We all have our preferences I guess. I do like the added fuel gauge on the 13+ though.
+1Slo_Daytona I agree with the other dude for the same reasons really...
Agree
IAmTheGreatST2 I agree bro ive got the 2013 model but imo the 2012 does look 👀 better 😍
yeah, maybe you're right. I was talking about World Supersport wise.
It would be good for the championship if Triumph could put a little more effort on their wss program, since Suriano team doesnt seem to have it completely sorted out. Im not a particular fan of the MV brand, but I guess they will be faster on the track, due to The Giulliano Rovelli's team racing development. As we all know, they have proven their value in wss and this season with their sattelite aprilia.
Not surprised by the result. The electronics may kick start sales for MV, but surely the best will come with a few years to refine the package...
Best sounding too!
@31sk4l7
I think their suits are custom made. The one Micheal Neeves is wearing is called Alpinestars race replica.
@mattmp5 so you're saying all the japanese bikes have ripped each other off?
a good friend of mine living in luxembourg had an agusta 1000, he exactely said the same..... beautiful racing bike, powerful and so on, but a pain in the arse on a daily basis.... bought a multistrada...
That's near to my home!!!
Passo del Muraglione, ss67!
they sum it up themselves. difference between the two. the Triumph is more "civilized" where the MV is a true performance bike (with all the faults that go with it). as for my choice - everybody has a civil bike, how many have a true performance bike? MV all the way!
The MVA's headlight design makes the Suzuki cyclops look sexy.
Are the riders/reviewers from England?
Is it me or do the front ends of the 675 and Ducati 1098 look similar?
Wow, you guys have the best job in the whole world..... Don't be too hard on the MV, in the Daytona triple's first year release it had several teething problems as well. They have had several years to get it so nice. I think the MV will always be for a niche buyers market, they are almost always bought for looks. And Ohlins suspension for the same price ?? That's a no-brainer.
The MV... man, that's one pretty bike.
i think looks have to play in the buying process and the past. Between the two i would say the triumph looks like a 848 ducati and the mv would stand out.
nice test and the sound is improving....
if you need a motorcyclist to monitor the sound...
waiting for the new 3cyl R6 ?
having owned a speed triple and ridden my friends daytona, id say their right, its ridiculously smoothe, power roll on its powerful and progressive, the clutch has amazing feel, and the gearbox is svelt. i have no complaints, triumph makes a good power train
It's not about the adjustable throttle. It's about how the engine revs. These guys have a lot of experience. Being a Daytona 675 owner myself (07, sold it about a year ago) then an owner of a race bike, there is a huge difference in the way a race engine behaves and one that's intended for street use. I'm not saying the Augusta is crap, I'm just saying it's not a good bike for street and I can easily, very easily (because I've had experience riding both street and race) see how they conclude.
@DSJeffers
Cool. My last bike was an 05 Ducati Multistrada but Id like to get into sportbikes now. Dont want a 1000 yet but tbh, the last I4 i rode was a ZX6R and it was crap (tho we were on a supervised testride where no spd limits were ever broken!). Certain magazines say the GSXR600 is "better" but personally I prefer the Triumph but I dunno we'll see I guess. Japanese I4s to me are all the same whereas the Triumph has character. Enjoy your bike dude :)
if you change down a gear it stops the rear compression lockup, by slipping automatically. so that if you put the bike into a corner, change down and don't rev match the back doesn't step out on you. as much.
97% of the time i agree, but occasionally i do get to go out to the track :D
finally, both 675 are facing each other!
I thought they didnt come with a slipper clutch standard?
Damn Neeves has got the life!
congrats you not regret it, great bike.
theres still ice on the side of the road which means the tires will have a hard time getting up to temp so no reason to risk a lowside trying to "lean it"
@MrShipro yeah, i'll wait for a better review! :D
I figured the Daytona would get it, but I love the sexy looks of both bikes.
@greebo954 I live in Michigan.. there was only 2 days so far that I could of rode.. :(
legend..
0:10 Sounds like a siren.
i'd like to wheel both :D
Triumph 675 has been around longer than the MV,but it was a top performer in 07! Triumph just made it better..enough to win 2014 British Supersport:-)
two great bikes...
I'd be over the moon to be given either one of these two bikes, both look stunning, especially the MV and i'm a big fan of triple engines, they go great and sound great.... but if i had to buy one with my own money i'd go for the Triumph 675R. And yes i am British so maybe that sways me too, but so what.
Also why do people insist on having a go at the testers, it's thier job to give their opinion and thats all it is..... too many haters all over youtube if you ask me.
Hell that's crazy, I would. However the MV Agusta comes complete with broken radiator.
19 SEPTEMBER 2011
KingCast presents: Crossing Delancey, Cube Sushi and Mack's new MV Augusta F4.
Cut paste Google, I know the owner.
@crazydavemma
thats just a rumor though. I've spoken w/ BMW about it and they deny it, saying that the profit margins are too small
Im american , so what are the 1/4 times 0-60 an top speed on em
Tottaly agree. The MV is a looker but that doesnt mean she's comfy. On the other hand I know u can presonalize the F3 so she isn't so jerky. So they should be able to fix that. It's like on my S1000RR. I don't like riding it in race mode on the street cuz he's more jerky then. More refined in sports.
No surprise there, really. Now where's the Oro version ? :D
Does sound as if they are reading from the same que card...smooth, yeah very smooth in comparison, yeah smooth.
Great bikes, naturally MCN will choose the Triumph, it's a British bike and MCN is a British magazine. EVEN IF THE BIKE IS MADE IN TIWAN!
I'd rather have one of these 3-cylinders then any one of the 4-cyl sportbikes they sell right now.
Theses guys like their bikes as they like their men. Smooth and foreign.
675R:Odin, F3:Thor
The MV is definately the prettiest bike and very exclusive looking. It makes the 675R looking very cheap.
I reckon the MV is track orientated only.
I would have the MV just for trackdays or on display and the 675R for roadriding.
Motorcycling isn't about numbers anyway, it's more about emotions.
@mattmp5
So every 600 or 1000's out there are just rip off's off each other.
The reason for being 675 triple, is that it is the displacement allowed for super sport racing, with three cylinders.
As is 600cc for four cylinder.
Come on Mykel - you can do better than that.
I thought the mic noise problem was solved on MCN videos; the dead cat did do enough. Also, a tripod wouldn't hurt ;)
What lovely roads though, pity about the wet.
hey you englishman, the throttle is adjustable. check out their first test on that french track. he complained about it at the start of the test then said it was perfect at the end after adjusting it to suit. i think these guys are biased when it comes to english bikes. they have to blow their own whistles its just very obvious with them.
I love the sound of the bikes. It souds like Lamborghini miura. Thumbs up if you think the same :)
@StigRossi 2001 Honda CBR600F4i.. I like the Triumph way more. Feels better, looks better, sounds better.. WAY better on gas too.
Daytona is the best looking bike available in my opinion, Them headlights! Need to be sensible-ish and get the street triple R :)
ITALIA!! Number one!! Who care the smoothness!
Me encanta la MV AGUSTA F3 SERIE ORO
lucky i got my self 675R :D
ive only been riding since the age of 4 and im 36 now so you do the math ,but I am giving my opinion not what reviewers or others think thats why its called my opinion buddy.
Il muraglione!!! Tra un paio di mesi sarò li a fare su e giù :)
Daytona is gorgeous!
Someone doesn't like the rear break. :)
Am surprised @ the outcome but I suppose the Triumph is a brill bike
triumph sounds better even with stock exhaust
i feel for u.
So, if the Mv is a racing machine, I guess It will reach success nexr year in WSS, since the triumph is good on the road, but not so great on the track!!
That 675 is soooooooooo friggin' sexy.
@schickpack erm... it aint an english housewife, i am english and live in england and most girls over here are far from house wifes, but thats beside the point, i am defo going to get a daytona one day
I knew u were a triumph owner or english or both. your right its just not refined enough to be as good as a triumph. in yours or their eyes.
Are you serious mate? Have you ever ridden these two? These exact two bikes, have you? If yes, then please let all of us hear your verdict.
mmmh don't forget the Ducati evo...
