Great job MCN loving the changes and HD videos :)
MV grab yourself a fuel injection bod from Triumph!!.......Triumph grab yourself a designer from MV......job done!
+Neil Cole (Smoothound675) Throttle is perfect on the newer ones with the updates
Exactly what I wanted to say ! Mv looks so sexy Daytona not so much
From the things you guys discribe in the video, the MV Agusta's problems seem to be due to inferior programming/electronics.
I bet if you hand it to the right tuner, the F3 will make a fantastic bike. But it's a shame that they couldn't figure things out properly from the factory
They both look great. I think MV is best at big, exotic super-sport bikes when cost is not an issue. To make a top middleweight for a competitive price is harder, specially going against Triumph, who is been doing it now for many years, often taking top honors when compared to the best Japanese, Italian and German bikes.
F3 looks amazing, sounds amazing, and my understanding is very flick-able. I just think it needs a different engine mapping. Looking forward to it coming to the states.
Nice work again Mickey! Thanks!
having owned a speed triple and ridden my friends daytona, id say their right, its ridiculously smoothe, power roll on its powerful and progressive, the clutch has amazing feel, and the gearbox is svelt. i have no complaints, triumph makes a good power train
Great work. Keep it up guys.
Please do a Track Comparison with these two bikes!
i think looks have to play in the buying process and the past. Between the two i would say the triumph looks like a 848 ducati and the mv would stand out.
nice test and the sound is improving....
if you need a motorcyclist to monitor the sound...
hey,
where can i get this nice leather suite from alpinestars with all these nice mcn logos etc.?!? is it possible to buy it somewhere?????
thanks.
I figured the Daytona would get it, but I love the sexy looks of both bikes.
I'd be over the moon to be given either one of these two bikes, both look stunning, especially the MV and i'm a big fan of triple engines, they go great and sound great.... but if i had to buy one with my own money i'd go for the Triumph 675R. And yes i am British so maybe that sways me too, but so what.
Also why do people insist on having a go at the testers, it's thier job to give their opinion and thats all it is..... too many haters all over youtube if you ask me.
love the sound of that MV
Is it me or do the front ends of the 675 and Ducati 1098 look similar?
Great bikes, naturally MCN will choose the Triumph, it's a British bike and MCN is a British magazine. EVEN IF THE BIKE IS MADE IN TIWAN!
In this head to head, the choice is simple. If you want a great handling yet butt ugly bike, get the Triumph. If you can live with all it's faults but want a gorgeous machine, get the MV.
97% of the time i agree, but occasionally i do get to go out to the track :D
Daytona is the best looking bike available in my opinion, Them headlights! Need to be sensible-ish and get the street triple R :)
@mattmp5 so you're saying all the japanese bikes have ripped each other off?
I'm a Triumph man through and through... I would have the 675r personally. The MV looks great don't get me wrong, I just think the 675r is a better bike. And oh, it's British.
Does sound as if they are reading from the same que card...smooth, yeah very smooth in comparison, yeah smooth.
0:10 Sounds like a siren.
Motorcycling isn't about numbers anyway, it's more about emotions.
Are you serious mate? Have you ever ridden these two? These exact two bikes, have you? If yes, then please let all of us hear your verdict.
@greebo954 I live in Michigan.. there was only 2 days so far that I could of rode.. :(
could you sign link?
No surprise there, really. Now where's the Oro version ? :D
people who say which is better.....how the hell do you know, how many of you has actually ridden both?.....exactly, so don't go around complaining about MCN's opinions just because they prefer one to the other, that's why there road testers and your not.
I own a Speed Triple 1050 and pleeeease... Drive one three cylinder motorcycle before saying anything about these bikes! :) but better than that, as gareth said, we're all bikers at the end of the day, and apart from ONE motorcycle I drove once, there is no motorcycle or scooter i didn't like to drive!! Again, Trimph "wins" based on daily useability, just like the Speed Triple wins over the Ducati Streetfighter despite the Ducati is the most beautiful "streetfigher" motorcycle in the world :)
High mountains, winter, snow all around and sport bikes? Respect for enthousiasm but this can not be a serious comparative test for this kind of machines ... sorry.
Im american , so what are the 1/4 times 0-60 an top speed on em
Well I'm stoked with my 675r. The F3 is pretty...but not in this colour, it looks fucking hideous. And very few bikes can pull off the single swingarm and look good, and this ain't one of them! But that's my opinion, and I may be biased
Il muraglione!!! Tra un paio di mesi sarò li a fare su e giù :)
gengiz when the mv has won as many accolades as the Triumph your statement may be half worth reading until then you should do some research. the Daytona does'nt have to prove itself. its done that many times over.
Someone doesn't like the rear break. :)
Don't like the sound of that engine braking system on the MV.
I'd still buy the MV....
I found the Daytona to be vibey fucker.. Haven't ridden the MV yet though... Bloody impossible :( as they sell to well here.
they based most of their design off of the gixxer, but perfect the gixxer's flaws.
legend..
+ abs in the triumph
R6 please ^_^
@iTziLLUMY
675 sheeps? You mean I4 sheeps? You do realize that WAAAAY more ppl ride I4s thatn I3s right?
I am still waiting panigale vs bmw
F3 is the winner !!
That daytona is really pretty, but man it's just looks like a pile of horse crap next to the Mv Agusta.
f3 for the track, daytona for city
The MV looks much cheaper... love the thriumph
All the posers will still buy the MV.
일장기 헬멧 불편 ㅡㅡ
F3 in amazing
British all day long 😍daytona😍
LOL!
Simple as this buy the standard 675 triumph and spend the 1500 quid on trashing it weekend:)
and its the ugliest bike too so plain looking
The amount of times they use the word "refined" it can almost be a drinking game.
Daytona 675 all the way baby
2012 Daytona 675R was the best looking Daytona Triumph has made. Really pissed they switched from the under tail exhaust. Ruins the classic Daytona look.
+1Slo_Daytona i much prefer the bottom exit design. looks less bulky and race oriented.
We all have our preferences I guess. I do like the added fuel gauge on the 13+ though.
+1Slo_Daytona I agree with the other dude for the same reasons really...
Agree
IAmTheGreatST2 I agree bro ive got the 2013 model but imo the 2012 does look 👀 better 😍
Agusta is nice no doubt about it, but give me the Daytona any day!
they sum it up themselves. difference between the two. the Triumph is more "civilized" where the MV is a true performance bike (with all the faults that go with it). as for my choice - everybody has a civil bike, how many have a true performance bike? MV all the way!
i stop at my local bike dealer, they sell many brands including Triumph and MV. one of the salesmen said the MV is not even in the same league as the Daytona sure, it looks the goods but that is were it ends he said the fueling is like riding a 2 stroke and they do not handle as good as the strandard 675 let alone the R, and he does know bikes he has raced bikes for over 25 years. anyway im taking one for a squirt saturday. have to agree alexi626 they are the best looking bikes on the market.
@greebo954 Well I guess that's all it takes to determine the riding style and good/bad of the bike lol It's kind of how people take a test-drive (pretty sure that's less that 100miles lol) and then they buy the car :) haha
I love my 675 so much.. Only had it for a week or so. I already have about 100 miles on it!
I appreciate your input, really want a daytona 675/R for a first bike though probably should get a cheap one first though that won't break my heart if i try learn wheelie it and fall off
Thomas GLover you can buy r6s from like 2002 cheap as fuck
i went into a ninja 300 when i started riding about 8 months ago and i found that to be good fun. about 3 months after i upgraded into the 2016 triumph 675R and it is souch a gorgeous, powerful and magnificent bike. very race oriented. but i always felt that fear of droping her and being extra careful for the price it governs. the best 600cc all around but it is expensive. if i could re do the purchase i probably would of gone with a used 2011 model and paid cash to enjoy the hell out of it
if you want to be a skilled rider, i recommend going smaller for a first bike.
@schickpack erm... it aint an english housewife, i am english and live in england and most girls over here are far from house wifes, but thats beside the point, i am defo going to get a daytona one day
Daytona is just sex, in terms of sound and looks. Daytona 675 is a class of its own for me.
@StigRossi 2001 Honda CBR600F4i.. I like the Triumph way more. Feels better, looks better, sounds better.. WAY better on gas too.
I love the sound of the bikes. It souds like Lamborghini miura. Thumbs up if you think the same :)
I have owned a 2009 Thruxton a 2010 Daytona a 2011 Speed Triple and now a 675R. none have ever missed a beat. unlike a friend who has MV Brutale. he has had the bike 3 of the 9 months he has owned it. the rest of the time its been getting repaired. last time he spoke to the dealer. the engine had been sent somewhere ? for repair. customer service is fucking shocking. "WHEN" he gets it back he's selling it. anyone want to buy a Brutale ? uummm I dont !!!!
@DSJeffers
Cool. My last bike was an 05 Ducati Multistrada but Id like to get into sportbikes now. Dont want a 1000 yet but tbh, the last I4 i rode was a ZX6R and it was crap (tho we were on a supervised testride where no spd limits were ever broken!). Certain magazines say the GSXR600 is "better" but personally I prefer the Triumph but I dunno we'll see I guess. Japanese I4s to me are all the same whereas the Triumph has character. Enjoy your bike dude :)
hey you englishman, the throttle is adjustable. check out their first test on that french track. he complained about it at the start of the test then said it was perfect at the end after adjusting it to suit. i think these guys are biased when it comes to english bikes. they have to blow their own whistles its just very obvious with them.
i have tryed both and i can only say all they are saying but opposite :) the daytona is like a stiff "unmodern" bike compared to F3, if i was to buy a 600cc sportbike i would not doubt buying the F3 against the daytona. And the daytona seat is a terrible piece of *"#! :P
Tottaly agree. The MV is a looker but that doesnt mean she's comfy. On the other hand I know u can presonalize the F3 so she isn't so jerky. So they should be able to fix that. It's like on my S1000RR. I don't like riding it in race mode on the street cuz he's more jerky then. More refined in sports.
I'm still not sure as to why you would say, quite blatantly that "The triumph will never be as good an mv NEVER". Are you suggesting what they said was all lies? Or do you simply mean that a "road-bike" should only be judged on how it performs on a track?
the MV has been built for one purpose
win the WSS championship
that alone will make it sell, and and its prettier that Kelly Brook in nothing but channel No5 covered in honey.
own money, I have the Triumph (and Kelly)
everyone is losing theyre nut to the new mv....jeez its a good looking bike but its nothing that floors you like everyone claims. the desmocideci is leagues better looking if you ask me.
@0Airsnark0
what would you rather?
An English housewife or Italian race mare
what would U rather? an English housewife or italian race mare
Two brits picking the Triumph.....mhhhh
@Eric you do know triumph was founded by a German.
And scots, Welsh and English are British like it or not. And the tough sods in Scotland were some of the few that stopped an expanding roman empire. Not many can say that until the romans were in decline. British history is far more impressive than English history alone. Notice the royal navy fly the union flag/jack as well as the st George's flag for many reasons.
@Eric there have been loads of languages in England alone, and besides unlike north/South Korea for example Britain is countries that are united to make them a nation. There are different people with different heritage who have lived in local to each other for centuries all over the world, we're all from all over if you go back enough in history. Besides we were invaded long before then, but the lads up north and the scotts were stubborn sods in those situations back then.
The Germans are from somewhere else, they will be fome somewhere else and so on.
@Eric well then you are simple aren't you. It was only relevant to your comment, nothing else in the history of the world.
@Eric you said the British or English were all germans all i said was basically everyone is from somewhere else if you go back far enough in there ancestry.
@Eric all i said the Germans are from somewhere too
@burpyak Really? Really? He's doing a street review of a street bike. And you're wondering why something that revs like crazy, and can't keep still didn't win?
I knew u were a triumph owner or english or both. your right its just not refined enough to be as good as a triumph. in yours or their eyes.
Please do a video review of the new MV Agusta Brutale 1090R (not RR)
After dealing with Triumph and Italian brands, I gotta go with Triumph. I won't even consider an italian bike.
What was going on at 1:55?? I looked like he stopped paying attention for a moment but the video cuts out
European bikes affect me, they have a sort of charisma and personality that I don't feel in the Asian ones.
Triumph owners should take it as a complement someone smart enough to copy the brilliant Daytona !!!!
I'd rather have one of these 3-cylinders then any one of the 4-cyl sportbikes they sell right now.
what could tell an english man about triumph?
not so good?
joke..
there is only 1 bike .....MV
c'mon, did you really expect a couple of Brits to pick an Italian bike over a Triumph??
Triumph wins again, so thats MV and Ducati in the bin whoes next?
Ferrari VS Jaguar?
White Van Man Ferrari VS Aston Martin*
Theses guys like their bikes as they like their men. Smooth and foreign.
triumph sounds better even with stock exhaust
Triumph sound is much better than MV. True??
@abunjahal
Nope! THey liked the G6 better than the 675R!
Hell that's crazy, I would. However the MV Agusta comes complete with broken radiator.
19 SEPTEMBER 2011
KingCast presents: Crossing Delancey, Cube Sushi and Mack's new MV Augusta F4.
Cut paste Google, I know the owner.
we need biased tester!!! .......MV AGUSTA f3 all life
Daytona 675R it's like Honda 600 rr just copy it
Even if you have all the money in the world “ triumph”
Need to know what that Japanese flag helmet is plz
