Showing how Ichikawa finally gained the, I believe, confidence to confess. Also the fact that he was a lot more stronger and able to face his emotions. Basically showing how far he's come. Knowing that was the cherry on top🎉❤

I liked the cram school poster foreshadowing, it's like they telling us but there is more to their lives past this point. Though they nailed the ending without altering the plot of what's next in the source material.

You cut out one of the most important lines in his confession "i would enjoy it even if you werent there -> but its because you were" its him acknowledging that she helped him grow, but that he isnt fully dependent on her (any more). It loses a fair bit of meaning eithout that second part.
