Hello everyone! Shiv and I have been singing fairly regularly over the past year (Side effects of the pandemic and having an enthusiastic mother!).
This is the first of the Thirupugazh to be uploaded onto our channel. We sang this for the UK Sangeeth Sangam in August 2020.
Thirupugazh is an anthology of devotional songs in praise of Lord Muruga composed by the poet Arunagirinathar. The Thirupugazh holds a special place in our hearts. Our mother learned Thirupugazh from T.K.S. Maama, whom she lovingly called 'Periappa'. She has passed on his beautiful music and legacy to us and we hope we are making him proud. Perhaps what makes this most special to us is our dear Gopal Thatha, who was an ardent Muruga Bhakthan, who I know is watching over us singing his favourite songs.
