Jered, Thank you so much, I purchased the “ Quick charge” for my Zero….. it was a pain in the butt until I found the perfect spot at my job. Except one day I forgot I was going to rain….. Well good bye quick charger, We had floods all over Northern New Jersey. Obviously I purchased another and I built a clear hard plastic cover and its water proof and 1’ off the ground. I only have to plug in the bike 2 times a week… actually we have snow on the ground at the moment… And our darn groundhog didn’t do his job properly. I have another few weeks. But Thanks again.
great production, i just picked up a 16' sr a couple of months ago and am keeping an eye on future public quick charging solutions. lots of fun so far though
Awesome video! If you're charging your bike at a ChargePoint station, is there any way to use the Delta-Q quick charger? Or you're only able to use the Quick Charger at home?
This is a helpful video. Just want to make a point about the cord. i just bought a 2017 FX two days ago. The current manual says the bike can pull as much as 12 amps when charging so the "PC cord" is likely to small to carry the load with getting hot. You might be risking a fire hazard. Manual recommends a 12 gauge cord no longer than 25 feet.
Do you know if there is any device that will allow you to charge the fx batteries outside of the motorcycle( I live in a city and don't have a garage to charge my batteries at)
It's been so dam difficult to find this information, the manual is vague, the unofficial zero manual states you can use just the quick charger if you make sure the bike is turned on first, then turn on the quick charger. The bike can then be turned off. (I've not tried that yet). Turning on the quick charger with the bike off throws up an error message on the charger (two blinks) and the bike won't charge.
1. You would need an adapter to charge the battery when not installed in the bike. 2. The batteries are Very heavy (over 40 pounds each). You could technically do it, however carrying all that weight on your back may not be too much fun
I noticed the plug was the same as a computer. It's ironic, because with Zero Motorcycles, especially the other models, the batteries look like computers.
Nice job mate and just what I was looking for. Have you had any same-circuit trip ups yet since shooting vid? Would it be possible to carry along the quick charger, on-board, somehow? Or is it too heavy to ride around with? thanks!
I'm definitely not buying an electric bike until the tech is more common. I remember being one of the first people to start carrying Type-C phones, it took 2-3 years till everyone started using them. So unless I brought my own Type-C cable on outings, if my phone died. I'm shit out of luck.
Zero hasn't seen all the 220V free chargers all over town? J1772? Chademo? No way am I going to plug in two or three wires. Why not just tell us the amps?
+Alex Cacares If you're talking about a place that you're employed with, I'd imagine mentioning that you have a full electric vehicle and you'd like access to a plug (to the management), and explain what all it is, they'd probably be more receptive than you might think. If you're talking about moto camping and long distance touring, most RV campgrounds won't charge you a dime to plugin. There's info all over the web about touring on the Zero. If your company won't let you plug in, just make sure your commute isn't farther than the charge range and you'll have no issues.
Excactly the video I was looking for! Was wondering where you put the second charger! Thanks

Thanks a lot for making this video. Its exactly the information I was looking for. Ride on

A pc cord can handle it. Some are thicker than others. They make pc power supplies up to 1600 watts.
whats the weight of the quick charger? why they dont integrate qc in the bike.
Why does the onboard charger need to be plugged in in order for the quick charger to work? FXS owner here.
very informational video. thank you!

Excelent video very informative, exactly what I was looking for... Congratulations!
Do the Zero brand bikes charge while riding?
I'm looking at getting one of these bikes. Back when I had a 450, I only rode it about 30 miles at a time.
awesome, thanks for making the vid!
does this work with the 2010 zero s does that model have the quick charge port on the bike?
How much does it travel in one charge?
Hows the range on the Zero FX?
90miles city 60 miles highway
What are the measurements for the Quick charger? Height length width 😄

Have you tried buying an extra battery and doing swaps? I'm wondering how viable it would be to keep an extra in a backpack, seems pretty big.

+Proximidude what's the music ?)
If you were to take your zero to europe would a plug adapter work?
Yeah can you take the batteries out and charge them?
I noticed the plug was the same as a computer. It's ironic, because with Zero Motorcycles, especially the other models, the batteries look like computers.
So you have carry the quick charger with you if you want to charge while not at home?
Cutler Cycles only if you want a faster charge. All you need for a regular charge is one power cable and a wall outlet.
Thats exactly when I want a faster charge. I could never make a long trip because I can't carry such a big charger
thank you great..useful video..
thanks for sharing, and a need to know thing
God God, that "music" is bloody appalling...

Some people put them in rear mounted top boxes, like a Givi top box.
THANK YOU!!

No way!! LOL
best video ! but you have not shown how to change in 2 seconds and charge the batteries...
that's what I wanted to know
FOCUS
Should have been standardized so you could use it at charging stations
what business is going to let you just roll your bike in and charge it for 2+ hours?

jeez that distorted background noise is annoying.
DUMP THE MUSIC.
IT IS DISTRACTING AND DOES NOT
ADD TO YOUR VIDEO ONE BIT.
pain in the assss
Hey so I go to work everyday by foot and on a low budget wanna gift me a zero fx I could really use it now in time
I would get the bike if it had a faster speed and could charge faster like within 4 hrs or so.
