  • These commercials aired on NBC on December 15th, 1984
    1. TV Spot for "Protocol"
    2. Kodak
    3. Genesee (Their ad campaign seems to revolve around the concept of interviewing random men with mustaches)
    4. Navy
    5. "Saturday Night Live" Commercial Bumper
    6. TV Spot for "Starman"
    7. Mars (With Jamie Farr)
    8. Ponderosa
    9. Genesee Draft Ball
    10. Walt's Hobby & Craft
    11. USPS PSA
    12. "Saturday Night Live" Commercial Bumper
    13. NBC Sports Football Promo
    14. Andes Creme De Menthe
    15. Promo for "Essence"
    16. Kodacolor VR200 Film
    17. WSTM-TV Commercial Bumper
    18. TV Spot for "Dune"
    19. Chaps by Ralph Lauren (Captures the spirit of the West but with slightly less genocide!)
    20. National Parkinson Foundation PSA (With Dick Clark. That innocuous joke about shaking would definitely not fly today)
    21. Promo for "The Jeffersons" (These promos where they just play some short random clip are SO weird and fascinating to me)
    22. "Saturday Night Live" Commercial Bumper
    23. Nikon One-Touch
    24. TV Spot for "Johnny Dangerously" (I really need to watch this)
    25. Community General Capital Campaign PSA
    26. Promo for "Syracuse Bowls" (Oh man, exciting television!)
    27. "Saturday Night Live" Commercial Bumper
    28. Berkshire Place Commercial Bumper
    29. Promo for "Punky Brewster"

LOL @ Punky Brewster promo at second-hand smoke at 9:59. 1984 = innocent laughter. 2014 = protests, riots, public outcry demanding an appology, detraction, and public awareness.

I can't believe someone actually wrote a script where they had Dick Clark compare dance shaking to Parkinsons.

yeah .. its incredible irony, almost like he was talking about his future decline in health, which unfortunately was the beginning of the end for him :( New Year's eve isn't the same without him.

Re: The football promo. The games highlighted were the two that would determine the lone remaining AFC playoff spot open, the AFC Central championship. Cincinnati (who had overcome an 0-5 start) could clinch it at 8-8 by defeating Buffalo and the Raiders beating Pittsburgh.
The Bengals held their end of the bargain, trampling lowly Buffalo 52-17; but the Steelers beat the defending champion Raiders later that day 13-7; costing Cincinnati the division while forcing the Raiders to play the wildcard game vs. the Seahawks at Seattle instead of L.A.)

So the suit that Michael Keaton/Johnny Dangerously was wearing is blue & white striped and Michel Keaton/Beetlejuice's suit is black & white striped...so logically Johnny Dangerously died and in the afterlife became Beetlejuice!

Who ever wrote that PSA for Parkinson's for Dick Clark needs to be fired. Could you imagine a commercial like that TODAY?!

It's just a dumb joke from a time when people didn't care about offending everyone. No need for the manufactured outrage.

"Promo for "The Jeffersons" (These promos where they just play some short random clip are SO weird and fascinating to me)"
A lot of older WYAH/WGNT promos I've seen and uploaded seem to have followed the same concept of "putting a series of random clips together for a promo" pattern

Questions: Why Jerry Office look more like Bill Gates? I was confused with Joe's (from Kodak commercial) skin color because of the shading. I have no idea why did the little kid gave the gift for an older friend. Is Joe her dad or something?
