(I have given preference to accommodation near the Athirapilly waterfalls on the banks of Chalakudy river)
1) River cottage (9074888100) :
Most of the time, this cottage will be BOOKED. They charge Rs. 6500 for weekdays and Rs. 7500 for weekends.
This place is at a distance of 2km from the Athirappily waterfall entrance. This villa has 2 rooms. They accommodate up to 8 people with extra beds. I would prefer this place for five people.
2) La cascade resort (8089280200) :
This resort is at a distance of 1.5km from the Athirappilly waterfall entrance. The main highlights of this resort are the pool and the food.
They charge Rs. 3500 for the room.
3) Forest villa (Dorm) : (8330024804)
This place is at a distance of 1km from the Athirappilly waterfall entrance. This one may be the only dormitory in Athirapilly. They charge Rs. 400 per bed.

(The people living near the forests are joined in Vana Samrakshana Samithi (VSS), and, with their support, the forest department manages various activities related to forest protection.) It's sad to see each video or news report, including mine, reporting and spreading wrong information that hurts the real people who built it.
