Awesome video! Just took a 3 year hiatus from the game, but I've gotten back into it starting up a CW, and I really like this setup. Gonna give it a try, thanks!
Nice! Time to delete my SW (my main DPS toon since mod 5) best to make a true DPS class if i want to DPS and i chose a Wizard. Your guide is helping me a lot with it. Thank you.
Great video. Thank you for your time and effort as well as your in game knowledge. Couple questions right quick, what would be your rotation for Arcanist build? Does it chance when you get Power Surge or Rapid Recovery? And then how would it change if you had your daily up at the beginning of the encounter as well? I have a few ideas just wanted your take. Again thank you for everything you do. Glad your channel is taking off.
👀 I'm looking into creating either a wizard or a warlock but can't decide, I've heard wizard is harder to master it has good crowd control but lacks damage while warlock has better damage but lacks good crowd control. Witch would you recommend going for as I'm looking for one with decent damage and can handle larger groups of enemies and isn't difficult to learn 🤔 I play solo for the most part
Is this your first character? If it is I suggest going with the Warlock, simply because you can do DPS or Heals later on in the game, even though you mostly play solo, you will still want to queue for content, and it's a lot easier getting into groups if you have some flexibility. That ebing said everyone gets 2 character slots for free, s you might as well create both, and see which one you like to play more.
@@LordWillow I main a rogue (hands down my favorite class), with 1 slot left I've been re running wizard and warlock and having mixed thoughts/results on both, might just have to use a second account to truly compare them side by side hoping to chose 1 and take advantage of the current event (Neverember's recruitment), appreciate the reply I'll take this into consideration 😄
@@FLUXXEUS No problem, also remember that class balance is starting to filter into the preview server, and we might some significant differences on PC within the next month... what you see and experience in a class today probably won't be the same in a month (again on PC)
What do you think about the eyestalk wrappers? Your ranged powers do 3% more damage. Where as the terroed grips give 3% to you encounters. Also, will the ebony stained ward shirt stack with the enduring boots? Great vid appreciate your guidance and tutorials.
I play with all sorts of gear. right now I'm running the executioners Black Attire, and duel ebonized rings. Also keep in mind Mod 17 was announced today for release August 13th on PC, and the new trial will have a minimum IL of 24k, and enemies have a base stat rating of 30k.. which means armour pen, accuracy etc will cap at 80k, and CA will cap at 130k. Running the old % damage gear might not be an option for most players
I’ve tested and been checking other peeps builds around and all agree thaumaturge is best even on single target. Unless my rotation is not the right one you mention on your video to make arcanist shine, I don’t know. Can you elaborate on how to play ST arcanist efficiently, in your opinion?
I completely disagree, if you run the archanist perfectly it does insane single target burst damage. That being stated, the Thaum is much easier to operate on single target (more forgiving of mistakes), still does great damage... it's the easy button... just doesn't have the same potential in the right hands
I think I went into pretty decent detail in the video... ray on tab, disintegrate, entangling, repel, icy rays for at will, mix in storm strike to keep arcane stacks and chill stacks maxed, and use the daily... make sure you have the right gear.. and bam... melt bosses.
Again how is it for you to run it perfectly? What is the right gear you say you need for this? It was tested with ACT logs and after latest mod 16 updates and thaumaturge was the winner. That’s why I’m giving the benefit of the doubt to try and understand what’s the ideal build for your arcanist loadout to succeed on single target
@@adayf I showed my build in the video, and talked about the rotation. if you don't get interrupted, have full stacks of arcane and chill (you need to maintain these stacks), if you don't have a lot of action point gain, save your daily for the back half of the fight, use you daily + mount power+ artifact at the same time, and with the same party my arcanist puts out about 30% more damage single target than any thaum build I've tested in LoMM
Lord Willow To be honest, on mod 16 we don’t have decent sources of ap gain during single target to justify arcanist build. I appreciate your answer on your rotation, however I’m not sure why you say to stack chills, when this build is not based on chill damage...?? As you say, yeah, it could be very specific build for a perfect team and circumstance. I’ll give it a try again anyway
Lord Willow I went with arcane for the time being since I already had many of the encounters unlocked, but what's the reasoning behind thaum first? Thanks again
Bullete Pup is "best in slot" for Min Max DPS as it's summoned bonus included Power and Combat Advantage.. but only you can tell me if the extra AD to acquire one is worth an extra 2 - 3k Combat Advantage, or if you are fine spending a lot less for a different augment that still gives power. Use you companion to boost your stats where needed, depending where you are in the game really determines what you need to fill in, which in the short term changes what you may need to run.
@@ECS352 Bullete Pup for summoned, Deepcrow, Minstrel, Mercenary, staldorf, and ghost (all give power except the stalforf, which is CA). with potions my (as of last night) wizard is sitting on just over 200k power, and that is while still using the old percent damage bonus gear.
For your first character I suggest a versatile class with the ability to queue in as multiple roles for when you get your character to level 80, this will help you get into runs faster as well as learn multiple roles. Good fits for this are the Paladin, fighter and Barbarian. The barbarian is probably the easiest class in the game to master, as well as the most popular new player class, and does decent DPS, which means clearing solo content faster. The fighter is also good in this regard, but it's mechanics are harder to master with a steeper curve between dead and good, and really only has demand right now for it's tank path for group content. The Paladin doesn't have a DPS path, so it will be slower to clear solo content, but it can't be beat for end game utility with both tank and healer roles. If pure DPS is your thing, then I suggest going with a Ranger... right now (and for quite awhile) the Ranger's best damage meta is melee based, but it is still the most versatile DPS with multiple play styles to keep you entertained. The other classes either have difficult mechanics to master, or a large skill/ gear based divides that keep beginners out of runs... I've seen nearly identically outfitted players with the same builds do as much as 70% more or less DPS based on skill alone in classes like the wizard, rogue, warlock and cleric. Though.. at the end of the day, I suggest using both your character slots, level them both and see what you enjoy and play that.. the meta of what is best changes all the time, and as a new player the meta will most certainly be different by the time you hit end game
@@anthonyramirez9878 Race doesn't matter all that much anymore to be honest. The only race that really stands out is the dragonborn... but it's not that big of a difference
Sun Elf (!). +2 Intelligence +2 Dexterity or +2 Charisma Inner Calm: Your inner peace and serenity cause you to focus more clearly on the task at hand. +2% Action Point gain. Sun Elf Grace: Your bottomless grace increases your resistance to Crowd Control effects by 10%.
I know a lot of people use Demogorgon's Girdle of Might. I use the Greater Owlbear Leather Belt of Intelligence because of the +4 INT. I don't know if that is any better for a wizard or not.
Yes, do not go by IL. Too many players just play to raise their IL and their characters suck. Building your character to do the most DPS and not worry about your IL is the best way to build your character.

Hi willow nice build but one question for me about ur build why u choose Gurtunk Booties at the place of Vivified primal feats?

What is the best artifact gear new set u run?
If you dont have dragonborn whats the next best Wizard race?
Sun Elf (!). +2 Intelligence
+2 Dexterity or +2 Charisma
Inner Calm: Your inner peace and serenity cause you to focus more clearly on the task at hand. +2% Action Point gain.
Sun Elf Grace: Your bottomless grace increases your resistance to Crowd Control effects by 10%.
Tiefling = You deal an additional 5% damage to targets below half health. (and you can get +2 INT, +2 CHR)
