The 100k edict/writ will not let you complete the achievement. I tried it first. Then had to rack up another 100k bounty cause it didn't work lol. Question answered 🙂
Thank you for the answer! It’s so weird. It makes sense that it wouldn’t by how everything is written, but why else would a master thief need a 100k bounty slip? It took me like an hour or more to get that size bounty. Lol. How long did it take you?

Thanks, I did this guide with my high elf sorcerer, and I really didn't have any problems and got all the skills leveled within 6-8 hours of total gameplay and grinding. You're a life saver!

That’s awesome to hear! It can get a little boring after a while, but the Shimmerene monastery route drops the Alinor Pew motif. I usually sell em for 60k.

I was going to go over how to do the dailies for those guilds as well at that time. Still a lot of work to do before I get there, but those are just to fun not to promote.

broo my main is also a Dunmer (best race) a magblade and i also got like 2 or 3 other NBs ( 1 for pvp, 1 stam and 1 for stealing). great guide !! gonna improve my steal build

Oh, great question! Really anything will do, but if you are having problems with one stat or the other, just use the appropriate food (I.e. Witch Mothers Potent Brew or Dubious Cameron Throne). If you are struggling while learning then sugar skulls might be a good (if expensive) option.

I was thinking pretty much the exact build you mention here so it's cool to see how well it turned out before I even finish it haha.
One of my other toons is a crafter, so I gave adapt rider a try for the protection and speed.
Also, the monster sets are a great idea and vampirism is a great choice to save on a set like Night's Silence.
I can't wait to see how Ring of the Wild Hunt works with this. Just have to grind to cp160 now.

Just remember speed cap is 200% so anything over that is wasted. 250% when mounted.
@Nightharrow Gaming thanks. Yeah, I'll replace Adept rider with Ring of the Wild Hunt when I hit cp160. Otherwise I won't fit the monster set. Right now I'm running Adept rider x5, night terror x3, and Darloc Brae x 4. Again, thanks man for the super video.

Totally is and the Dark Brotherhood and thieves guild dailies can be a lot of fun and also drop gear you can sell for a ton! Only place you can get some of those sets, so the completionists drive up the price quite a bit.

Amazing video! Can a Nord Nightblade with all the skills and gear you mentioned still be undetected and easily pickpocket? Does the Khajit +5% pickpocket make a real difference, likewise the reduce 3 meter radius which sneaking?
I understand the +5% is extra luck and I may be able to get away without it, but could you please help me understand how I would get along without the reduced 3 meter radius passive?

Sorry for the late reply, comments often don’t show up like they should on the creator dashboard.
So the short answer is a Nord is totally fine. My main is a dark elf and I have don’t plenty of thieves guild and dark brotherhood quests on him (which are generally much harder than just stealing around town). You are correct in that +5% pickpocket is probably only something you would notice if you collected data on it. At least I can’t really tell a difference. The one exception is that when you are leveling it does feel a little better on harder targets, but that won’t last thing.
As for the detection radius, you won’t be able to literally run into guards but your radius will still be super small and it won’t be noticeable for 99% of things. The reduced radius seems to give diminishing returns, so the 3 meters is more like 1/3 of a meter.
Anyways, hope that helps, and I’m sorry again for not seeing before now. I have sent this as a comment to TH-cam but I doubt a human ever saw it.

Although I watched this video in hope to find any informations where to take my thief to find the good stuff while stealing I deeply respect your descision to let this be a for fun build for people having fun and keep this information for yourself. Still a great video, really enjoyed watching it and learned a thing or two!
Oh, I have quite a few guides on the channel. Depending on your skill level and interest of course. The Alinor route is both profitable and on the more difficult side. Shimmerene is also a good one, and no real chance of getting caught. And anvil is fun if you haven’t done it before, I highly recommend it.
I just don’t tell everyone what I make on those routes because if you do it 3-4 times you will have a pretty good idea of what drops there. Although you need like 20 to see the rare drops consistently.

Hey Nightharrow! What do you prefer for this build Magica or Stamina nightblade? Since you go vampire, would magica be better to utilize more vamp abilities?
Swallow soul is just an op spamable do I tend to recommend that (mag) for utility but stam is probably more damage atm.
I would suggest also having Ember as a companion for her added ability to give you a hidden wallet when pickpocketing, not to mention that if you are particularly good at theiving her reputation will go up quick.
I'm planing on using her with Telvanni Efficiency so we can run around blasting enemy's from sneak with our bows.
I'll also give her a ranged taunt so I won't have to deal with shiz at often, not to mention if I get caught pickpocketing and they attack she'll kill them for us without us further increasing our bounty doing it ourselves.

This is just the video I needed to get back to ESO. (i got bored last time). Would you recommend this build to new player? And also is there build I can combine this with if I want to take break from thieving, just for questing, solo contents, and normal dungeon etc.

Hey Minerrem,
You can use other races/classes for stealing, however the issue is that none of them are going to have any of the class skills that make NB work so well for thieving. So if you decide to go that way just skip the class skill I mention. Everything else will be done the exact same way. If you go this route you will want to use the vampire passive Unnatural Movement so you can sprint to become invisible. Other than that nothing else changes.
And just to be clear, the reason I generally don’t recommend that is because no other class is going to have the ability to go invisible like a nb or have the increased stealth speed, so they all lack the same things. Same with race, they will all act the same besides a Khajiit (my main is a dark elf). Hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions!

I have a couple questions there was some things that you left out and I'm wondering what Mundus are you using for this build, and also where do you put your attribute points into mostly? I put mine in stamina!
So you want to find a NB build video and then use this guide to modify that. This is not intended to be a stand alone build guide for everything. I’m working on a dps build guide for Nb’s but honestly it will be weeks before it’s out. I recommend Skinny Cheeks in the mean time.
Oh, and thief is currently the best Dps mundus.

For players that don't want to become a vampire there is a CP that increases movement speed while sneaking. It's not quite as good as Dark Stalker from the vampire skill line, but it is still nice. That plus Concealed Weapon might be equivalent to the vampire passive.
I think you can get to speed cap regardless and that’s what I kind of aim for.
So i'm using 5x Night mother 4x Darloc Brae and 3x Night terror for a total of 6m detection radius reduction, but guards still can see me from a few meters away, is there any way to compensate for not being Khajit and not having Feline ambush?
No, there is nothing you can do to get a stealth detection as small as a Khajit. But it sounds like maybe you don’t have cp yet? That will help. The other thing you can do is go 4 piece Darlic Brae and then add another 5 piece with stealth detection. I list several in my gear video. But again, khajit have a unique passive.
Now that a few years have passed since this video was made, is it possible now to get a Bosner Wood Elf's detection radius down to 0 with other in game items? Or is it still just the Khajiit? Thanks for all the videos ❤
You can get it close enough, it’s not additive. Idk if you can literally jump on guards, but it should be pretty close. Like less than a meter.

Thanks man. Yeah, it’s one of my favorite sets. So I think you mean the set I am wearing in the video and not the thumb nail. In that case it’s the Ashlander set you get from doing dailies. You can just buy them or if you want to do the dailies you have to do a quest before unlocking them. The set from the thumb nail is the Buoyant Armiger set. Both sets are from Vvardenfel
I would go "Kahjiit, 3 pieces Night Terror, FOUR pieces Darloc Brae (not 5), 5 pieces Night Mother's Embrace, and make sure all armor is medium for the passive that reduces your detection radius when you sneak by another 35%." Doesn't even have to be Nightblade; I did this on my Stamsorc and he can pretty much sit on a guard's face and wriggle and they still can't detect him.
That’s good for a non-khajiit for sure. I’m already able to do that without the extra set here. Can’t really get better than jumping in a guards face.
Question. You said slot Out of Sight, but isn't it a non slottable passive, or am I missing something?

That is a good question and your not the first to ask something like that. So it depends on what you normally do with that character. If you are mag just go mag, if you are stam go stam. If you are looking for a dps video guide, I would suggest Skinnycheeks.
I think the idea behind the Shadowstrike CP talent is that it's supposed to make those instanced Dark Brotherhood dailies easier...maybe?

Which Mundus Stone would you recommend to use on this build ?
So this isn’t meant to be that kind of build. Typically if you are a dps though you want to use the thief mundus for extra crit chance.
Plan on making a character for only thieving so I can make some easy gold on the side without taking up space on my main NB.

You can actually farm this gear pretty easily at low levels. As for the rest, I would just add it as you level. You don’t need any of it, it’s just nice to have and honestly is overkill by the end.

Thanks man! The sparkles should be the Darloc Brae set I mention in the video. The outfit is Buoyant Armiger style that drops in Vvardenfel. If you mean any of the shadow/red effects, those are from Nightblade abilities.
Heya, found this while looking for a pure thief/assassin/justice build, with harvesting/gathering thrown in for the hell of it. I know its about a year(ish) old, dont happen to have an update bu chance do you ? or is the info still spot on ?

I've been using Night's Silence gear so I can run in stealth lol (plus all the xtra stamina it gives)
Become a vamp! Then you get that buff for free.

Hello everyone, I know my question is a little bit late but can I use this build also for normal questing? No dungeons only storylines. When someone answer I would be very thankful!
This is just meant to be a stealing build that you modify your normal questing build with. Having said that, these skills and gear will work fine for questing. If not ideal. If you have problems or are dying you could just look up a build at that point but I doubt you’ll need it for questing.

I know this is an old guide but,
I am still fairly new to the game so I was wondering about your skills bars and choices for them please.
Uhg...sorry had the sorting option messed up and didnt notice that the top message is a pinned one. But still. would like to learn how to use the important skills for this but also have the needed combat skills too. I notice you have the back bar as a bow and the front as a axe. I like the dagger look for the front bar though so I am guessing you keep the thieving skills on the bars then just add in a couple combat skills for the just in case stuff?

The good news is all the info in this guide is still up to date. If that changes I will definitely do an updated build guide. It is also not intended to be a dps guide, but rather a modification you can make to any build you are already using. So for example, I use these same thieving skills on my NB stam dps, mag dps, tank and healers... This is actually the main reason, besides brevity, that I didnt include dps information in the video, as that generally changes every patch (i.e. every few months).
Having said that, I get this question fairly often so I will look at making a NB dps build guide in the near future. In the mean time Im happy to help you out though. It sounds like you want to run a stamina build? Is so, check out this guide from ESO-U. They are a great resource for all kind of ESO related things, and will offer much better advice that some other, more popular websites. If you are looking for a magblade build, let me know and I can tell you a bar setup. As a magblade you can still use daggers on your front bar (and in fact it's optimal), but then you often use a Maelstrom inferno staff on the back bar. The gear sets are now the same though, Kinras/Relequen/Kilt/1 piece Slime Craw.
A note about this build, it has several setups for full range, full melee and something in between. All are valid. Usually the trade off for being full range is a bit of a dps loss, but it is "safer" and will allow you to do more dps in some fights where you have to run around.

The gear Im using here is just whatever I found that was cheap to buy, as most overland content and quests (the only place you should/will be wearing this gear) are really easy once you hit cp 160 and have all your skill lines levels.

when i came back to the game last week, i wanted to have one thief character, so all he's been doing is stealing/fencing/laundering... and this was before i really knew how to level legerdemain, i got a purple item off a commoner. i was astounded.
Haha yeah, it is nice they updated things and made it more profitable to make gold this way. It’s been a little bit though so I hope they do it again soon.

It’s from a passive in the psijic skill line. It gives you a damage shield when blocking with a skill from that line on your bar.

Where did you spend your attributes?
If you want to be stam, put them all in stam, if you want to be mag, put them all in mag. This build guide is just meant to be a modification of your existing build, it’s not meant to be from scratch. If you have more questions though ask away, I’m happy to help!

Noob Vampire here..my health bar is always low? How can I have full health bar?
This sounds like you have a user interface bug or they changes the last stage if vampirism to be totally i healing. Probably by the time you see this you will have re-logged, so if it’s still happening you probably just need to feed on someone. Vampirism has 4 stages that you can be in. Each stage offers more benefits and more drawbacks. One of the drawbacks is less natural healing. Just check your skills section to see what all the stages do and your character sheet at the bottom to see what stage you are at.
Speaking of the game - I haven’t been able to play in almost a week or so and I have one of those Master Writs activated that I may never get to start and finish because I don’t have Orsinium and it called for an Orcish drink. And I checked in the stores before my cord messed up and the search didn’t help. Ah well, lol.

@@Nightharrow True but hey - hopefully I can at LEAST get back on ESO eventually. Since I got back to doing writs sometime before my controller cord and analog stick messed up on me, I was on a normal routine of writs before actually playing any quests.

I am not after killing best monsters in this game, i want to earn and trade, with some thievery in the background :)
@@SernikSernik that’s a great question. It’s been a bit because at this point I always have more gold than I need, but I think you can do like 40k in a half hour with selling motifs and other stuff. You might check out my guide to shinerine (sry on my phone and autocorrect doesn’t like that name lol).
Probably the most lucrative thing to do though is thieves guild and dark brotherhood dailies. You can get motif and set drops from there that you can’t get anywhere else and pieces can sell for hundreds of k because it’s like 3 sets all randomized together.
Overall I would think that simply harvesting or the dailies are your best bet for pure gold making because of inflation (people buy a lot of gold online).

REALLY hoping this doesn't get lost in the comments void but I play exclusively Argonian and I do an awful lot of nothing in the game. I steal a lotta shit, slay some dragons and gather supplies. Rinse and repeat. Currently hiding in a basket cuz my dumbass accidentally double tapped when getting out of a vendor and cast a necromancer ability which got me an annoying bounty.
My question is, is there a way for a necromantic Argonian to be a half decent thief? I'm not looking to be the best or anything, I just wanna have a fat coin pouch, ya know?
Yeah totally. I personally find more roguish potions than I need. I think with a combination of the suggestions I have hear, rogue pots for invisibility, and then being a vamp should work pretty well for you. Your biggest problem will be when you fail, which will happen no matter how good you are. For those times you want to be able to stealth, so pop a potion if you have it and/or sprint if a vamp to become invisible. Also that cp from DB line where you go invisible after blade of woe would also be helpful I bet. Hope that helps!

Yeah I gotta lot to learn. I feel like I have a really spotty and all over the place understanding of the game. Personally I prefer playing as some kinda spell caster cuz irl I already know how to use melee weapons and bows. But I'll never know what it's like to cast a spell. This acts as my own personal hindrance when it comes to progression in the game but I'm good with that as my obstacle.

That would make sense, those are Nightblade skills for the most part. You can steal on anything, it’s just harder. Assuming you are doing a decent route. If you are just finding a random person alone from time to time, then it is going to be very chill.
