Rules are clear and well defined. There are 11 R controlled rules.
Rule 1 - Whenever 'ar' is at the end of any word, then it sounds clearly.
eg: car, jar, far, bar, star.

    R controlled rules:
Rule 1- if ar is at the end at any word then sound is 'r'controlled.
    Eg. Car, far, star.
Rule 2- if ar is at the beginning or in between then it sounds partially. Eg. Park, shark, mark, charm.
Rule 3 - when r is followed by another r only in any word then it will no more sound like a r controlled. Eg. Carry, marry, parrot.

    R controlled vowel rules
1 Whenever /ar/ sound is at the end of the word ar gives a clear sound. For example car, jar, far, bar, etc.
2 Whenever ar sound is in the middle of a word then ar sound is little shorter. For example: par, card, shark, hard etc.
3 Whenever ar is followed by consonant r then it will no more sound as ar. For example: carry, ferry, merry, etc.
4 Mostly er sound is used for occupation, community helpers, relations talking about people. For example: farmer, cobbler, lawyer, teacher etc.
    5. If the base word ends with e, then drop e and replace it with er. For example: bake- baker, write- writer, smoke- smoker etc.
6 If tthe word is having soft c or g at the end then it will take er. For example: officer, grocer, passenger etc.
7 Comparative Adjective ususally takes er. For example sharp sharper, hot hotter etc.
8 after double consonant er comes. For exaple: hopper, gunner, rapper etc.
9 The word ending with ch, sh, ion, graph, or i comes er . For example: photograph- photographer, furnish- furnisher, launch- launcher, execution- executioner, merry- merrier etc.
10 The or is usually added to the root word. For example: act- actor, sail- sailor etc.
11 If in a r controlled sound comes before e then it changes to long vowel, magic e rule is given preference. For example flare, care, dare, share, shore etc.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Jasmine Diya.

    R control rule
    1. Whenever 'ar' comes at the end it gives the sound of R controlled.
    Ex: car, jar, bar etc
    2. Whenever 'ar' comes at the beginning or middle, it gives the partial sound of R control.
    Ex: park, harm, harmony,
    3. Whenever 'ar' is followed by another letter r then the vowel gives a short vowel sound and the 'rr' gives a single 'r' sound.
    Ex: marry, hurry, carrot etc.
    4. If 'er' comes at the end for occupations then some time it gives R controlled sound.
    Ex: barber, painter, teacher etc
    5. If the base word ends with the letter 'e' and if 'er' is added to its end it gives the sound of R controlled
    Ex: writer, biker,
    6. Words having soft c and soft g then er is used at the end.
    Ex: cancer, passenger, tracer etc
    7. For comparative adjective degree we write 'er' is written at the end.
Ex: smarter, taller, better, longer etc.
    8. After double consonants 'er' comes at the end.
Ex: Runner, skipper, slipper, chopper etc
    9. After ch, sh, ion, graph and I then we use 'er' at the end for r control sound.
    Ex: photographer, launcher, furnisher etc
    10. Sometimes 'or' is used at the end with root words.
    Ex: sailor, actor, editor etc.
    11. If r control sound comes before letter then it changes to long vowel sound.
Ex: wire, care, fire, spare etc.
