    I love the Furman duck pond! Even though I got hissed at by a swan once. By the way, you were talking about taxes, do you have any idea about disability tax breaks???

    Is TR fall enough from Greenville where feel like it’s own small town… or does it just feel like Greenville suburb?

    • @HomesoftheUpstate
      @HomesoftheUpstate  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it's far enough away. TR feels a bit removed and it's at the foot of the mountains, so it feels a little more remote and 'hill country' than Greenville to me. It will get a little bit more snow, too.

      I live in the Berea community in Greenville which is just outside downtown Greenville. Travelers Rest is only a few minutes from me which equates to a 10 minute ride from Highway 183 to Highway 25 into TR. So in all honesty while TR was far enough removed 20 to 25 years ago from Greenville to feel like its own little small town. I have to tell you it does not anymore. Leaving from my area at the intersection of Highway 183 and Highway 253 traveling up 183 to Highway 25 (White Horse Rd.) into down town TR you will see nothing but Apartment and Condo complexes on a massive scale coming up. The Greenville area is pretty much pushing hard into TR and will overwhelm it in the next 10 to 15 years. The population growth is out of control and the charm of small town TR is fading swiftly. Take your time and explore the entire TR area and most importantly the encroachment coming from Greenville into TR. And then decide if its right for you. I have lived here 50 years. It is not the quaint small town on the outskirts of Greenville anymore. Population congestion and rapid growth has and will continue to take that all away. There are way to many people coming into the area from other states and a massive influx of immigrants driving up costs in all areas. Something to think about. As a lifetime resident. I am looking to leave for a less populated and more peaceful place to live. South Carolina as a whole just isnt the place anymore for that kind of life.

      Trailblazer park is nice, they have bands for concerts in the summer. There is a walkable part of TR's downtown, a few blocks long, mostly south of Sunrift Adventures.

    Can I ride a e bike on the swamp rabbit trail

    • @HomesoftheUpstate
      @HomesoftheUpstate  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The website says no motorized vehicles, but the city posted to FB recently about adding more ebike stations to trail. ...i'm guessing they dont count ebikes and just mean mopeds aren't allowed.

    travelers rest seems to be a nice community lots of eclectic opportunities but if you go to the wine tasting bar it is strictly lgbtq if you are alpha male or straight female you will be hit on aggressively or made to feel very uncomfortable to force you out
