- Carnival has added something to the Carnival Jubilee that no other ship in their fleet has. It's the Star of Texas on the bow their $1 billion dollar cruise ship, but I haven't seen it yet. In today's episode I go hiking through Mahogany Bay looking for the star on the Carnival Jubilee.

Thank you for showing so MUCH of Mahogany Bay. There is a lot of shade! I love it. Seriously, you have done a great job showing this port stop. I love all the benches I saw as you walked. The beaches looked like a lot of chairs were available too. Thanks for the much coveted "star photo". ;)

The cruise lines have been working hard to appeal to Texans' "national" pride with their ships. When the Regal Princess sails out of Galveston they hang a two-storey-tall Lone Star flag in the Piazza, they serve Nolan Ryan beef in the specialty dining restaurants, and crew and performers make sure to shout out Texas at almost every oppoprtunity. One fellow cruiser we met at dinner welcomed us with "So, what brings you to Texas?" (At that moment, we were just pulling out of Roatan.)

Bro., I love your sense of adventure and commitment to finding out the truth. The walking tour of M.Bay was enlightening. I have been there a few times, but always did excursions away from the main drag. Keep the Great content flowing!!
When you get back to Galveston walk over to Fishermans pier. Go out to the outside dining area. That area is almost directly under the front of the ship. Excellent view of the star.

I have never walked to that beach before. We've taken the lift every time. You can see quite a bit from up on the chair lift. Not sure if the angle of the ship would make it visible, but its a great view of the ship from up there.

I'm so glad that you made the comment about Kyndall Fire being the perfect choice for this ship because I really enjoyed her and loved her personality! There were some negative Nellie's in the Facebook group for this sailing who weren't happy with her and I felt like they were just looking for something to complain about. 🙄

We’ve been to Mahogany Bay several times and didn’t know there was a snorkeling area. We usually just hang out on the beach, but the first time we went we did the zip line and it’s awesome. Thanks for the informative video Tony!

Great Job Tony with the video. Never walked over to the beach area, always went directly to the snorkel pier after getting back to the port area after diving or snorkeling whenever going to Roatan! I love Mahogany Bay, one of my favorite Carnival port areas. Free snorkeling is good, just look, don't touch!

I loved this port. We did this beach break and I floated around the bay, saw a sting ray and some fish. A man lost his artificial eye in the water and several people helped find it.
I have a pic of my son when he was little in front of the fountain. We took the chairlift to the beach and, on the way back to the ship on the chairlift, it poured rain!! Lol
What a wonderful time to hear you walking to find the STAR. Good video Tony. That is a beautiful ship. I watched the footage when they rolled her out of the shipyard and she was definitely a BEAUTY to see. I love the Mardi Gras and will cruise Celebration and Jublilee also. Been there, pretty place and they fenced it off so it is safer...I took the chair lift and DID NOT regret it! It is a long walk!

Remember this very well, did it last year when I sailed Celebration. Use the chair lift going back but the lines to buy tickets was slow.
Nice little walk through. I am going on the Jubilee in March and have never been there.
You just gave us a reason to walk through the beach area. We can see our ship from an unusual angle ! Photo experts tell us to take photos from unusual angles to make them more interesting.
I know the walk was hard on you; I could hear your labored breathing the whole way. You are doing the best thing by getting out and walking. Showing all the benches and path off shoots was beneficial.
Do you know the distance from the ship to the end of the pier (either in miles or steps)? I use a rollator walker to get around and want to know if I can make that walk.

Bad accident last night on Carnival Magic. During Rock show in main theatre a performer fell off stage during show. Started crying and pleading for help as stunned audiance sat in silence for several minutes before show was canz and all eas asked to leave. Another lady behind us passed out and as out cold. Not sure why. Just terrible experience. The performer fell down in front into the pit-the area below the stage in the front.

Sorry to miss you, Tony!! We were on Jubilee the week before you, and we're going on again the week after you. So we made a cruise sandwich around you! That Mahogany Bay beach has some of the best snorkeling anywhere off the end of that long pier!!
Thanks tony for the tour. Im on a mobility scooter and last time we were in roatan we wanted to go down to the beach but assumed the walk down was all sand. Now we know by your video i can actually drive my scooter down there to see the beach. Thanks

we were in mahogany bay in 2021... I loved it! We didn't even leave the port, we went shopping then to the beach and it was so relaxing

Haven't been to Mahogany Bay before, but it's nice to see it doesn't seem you're accosted constantly by the locals trying to get money from you. I may want to go there! I've gotten jaded from all the stops in the Bahamas and don't want to go to ports where that's such an issue. Too stressful and makes it not worth going to a port, for me anyway. It's beautiful there. ❤ thanks for sharing.

It seems like every time I go to mahogany Bay it's cloudy.. it rains then the sun comes out like nothing happened..
I have noticed how bad the weather is on so many Caribbean cruises. Even at Florida ports. Hardly seems going on a cruise when the sky is full of clouds these days.
