Your dad asked for fun facts, not sure if you knew but they celebrated their 10th anniversary this week on the 16th.
Their leader, Jay B, read the law to be able to fight for not only their name but the rights to all their songs including the sub-units. The fans are always very proud of them for that.
    Thanks for reacting to them💚💚💚💚

Just to add on: Jay B also fought for their stage names. Now, that fact Lim Jaebeom has several monikers, lol... JB, Def, Def Soul, Memebeom 🤭🤭 But the dad is right, The New Edition fiasco is still ongoing about who has the right to the name New Edition.

I'm definitely proud of them for that too! I didn't even know they fought for the subunits.

Omg that must've been so hard for JayB for how many names he has!😭

Just a bit of clarification, JayB didn't have to fight for anything. He stated in interviews that he merely asked for all the rights to be transferred over and JYPE was very accommodating. There is no ill will between GOT7 and JYPE. The reason why it took a while to get all transferred was that GOT7 needed to create a company, and then needed all the member's signatures but and at the end of their contracts, Mark moved to the US and Jackson went to China. Getting all the paperwork squared away took some time.

@@BobbyOverHere Just to clarify to you, JayB didn't just ask he had to study the law, get the correct paperwork submitted because the law changed in Korea that allowed G7 the possibility of owning their work. He had to prepare himself to take ownership of not only the name, Got7, but their stage names, sub-units, intellectual property and discography.
So on their solo joints they can still call on IGot7 (Ahgase), introduce themselves with "come and get it" and "this is Got7's Jinyoung" for example.
JayB explained himself on lives and interviews how he had to study hard to make sure he took care of his members.
Some of y'all caping for a company that would have kept everything is just sad.
And of course, bashing a company that created you is not good for business so it's expected for them not to talk bad about the company. Didn't stop them from making small comments though. That's why we love them.
Google and TH-cam is free, my friend.

Getting your group name and stage name after leaving a company is a huge deal. Blackstreet is another group where members are being sued for using their own group's name but back to Got7.
Korean law had been changed a few years ago to that allowed JayB to even do this. Before that, k-pop companies kept everything when members leave.
I find it highly unfair when I see people downplay this group's accomplishments. But, I'm proud of them, none-the-less.
I just watched Jackson Wang hanging out at Paris Fashion week with Pharrell and I'm just waiting for an Everyone Nose (All the girls standing in the bathroom) collab from those two.
I try to keep up with all the members and again, couldn't be more proud of all of them.

Absolutely! I don't really hear people talk about them, which makes me a lil sad, because they're very talented!! I'm honestly really glad that law changed because it allowed JayB to fight for it and I'm just so glad for the good timing!!

JAY B leader fight, studying business laws and got7 paid for have all trademark Copyright royalties for JB stage name JJ Project Jus2 and GOT7... jype don't give nothing... and all the members say is not easy for JAY B all this because he take care of all 7 contracts. Yes GOT7 (2014), JJ Project JAY B x Jinyoung (2012) Jus2 JAY B x Yugyeom (2019) and GOT7 (1st k-pop group to debut on Billboard World Album chart with debut album, our famous worldwide organic ) 7 members soloist career is awesome! GOT7 change k-pop industry be group to stay together after leaving company and now together in Warner Music and 7 company different. GOT7 new comeback 2025

Yeah it must be hard to maintain so many copyrights, but I'm glad he was even able to do that. And I am looking forward to their comeback!!

Honestly both of those are high on my list of fav Got7 songs, so I wonder if there's a correlation lol!
