Great Vikings win. At end i was little confused the rule after blocked kick thought it was live ball but not because here is the rule. The defense can return the blocked kick for a defensive 2-point conversion. If the ball lands beyond the line of scrimmage it is basically a punt in that the defense can return it but the offense (if they touch the ball first) kills the ball. If the ball touches the endzone the play is dead.

That kid Doug Pashal looked good on that TD at the 5:10 mark. I was wondering why his name didn't ring any bells. 6'2" 217. Only played that one year in 1980. In 16 game appearances he had 15 rushes for 53 yards and that one touchdown. Also caught two passes for 18 yards and 4 kickoff returns for 66 yards. He apparently tore up his knee and while rehabbing after the surgery decided to retire and pursue a career in banking. That was probably how it went more often than not 42 years ago. Darn shame. He looked like he had a ton of promise.

Man, the Vikings always looked good in those uniforms with the black cleats.

...and the white laces on the black cleats. That kind of uniformity would be impossible in todays game of "look at me individuals".

The "Ain'ts" era of the Saints. They were truly awful. Also those white Vikings unis were so mint, some of the best in NFL history

      Forever the Aints.

You know it. Those uni's were so clean. So perfect. Nowadays the players would mess them up by having them untucked and all rigged up in order to show off their tattoo's, steroid muscles and armpit hair.

Always great to see Vikings top the Aints. Cool to see a Tommy Kramer vs. Archie Manning battle.

Yeah! I live in Canada and that's why it's always satisfying when the North end of the Mississippi pounds the South.
Minnesota is much nicer than Louisiana.

Matt Blair and Joe Senser both got up high on that last kick, but I couldn't tell who got the hand on it.

Probably Blair, he blocked kicks what seemed like a couple times a month.

Did you impose the scoreboard on the top of the video yourself? It looks very good!

I did! Tried to match the CBS graphics look of the time. Games before the score bug was introduced in the mid-nineties can be difficult to follow along to.

Origin story: It all goes back to when I was in the seventh grade. Few people remember the first season of American Idol had two hosts; Ryan Seacrest of course, and some guy named Brian Dunkleman. Me and my friends with our 12 year old humor thought that was a goofy name, and somehow that turned into Funky Dunkleman. In the infancy of TH-cam in 2006, I picked that as my username, and here we are today.

I loved Tommy Kramer!! The problem with Tommy was all the alcohol he drank throughout his career!! I remember he would be in a rehab facility ,throwing passes to other patients!

Saints were snake bit in 1980 , so we're the 2001 Panthers . Other teams same thing has happened

Poor Archie was thrown to the wolves since they had drafted him in 71. The guy should have had a year to learn the system. Always wonder what would have happened to him had he been drafted by a team built for success. Those early Saints teams were horrible but at least he tried

Watching this game it’s so obvious why the Vikings were mediocre on the 80’s: the epitome of it. Kramer’s interceptions were absurdly bad.

I was a Tommy Kramer fan growing up, but by today's measures, he was very average at best to be honest..😔...
