  • Dumpy gets his electric start fixed and does rather a lot of work with his mate Jan, my Yanmar B37 excavator. He's been having a very hard time working like a dog. He's been working so hard he's finally earned himself a little rest.

Wow, I am from the States. I have not seen anything that compares to this beauty. I am sure they exist but it would seem everything we have is huuuuge and not for farmers or homeowners. I am building a terramite and a Motorized barrow which is a miniature backhoe and front loader and a ride on self powered hydraulic tipper.

Hi from Gloucester, England, where Dumpy (or at least his major components) were made.
Only just found your vids, very interesting on all counts. Great to see a piece of historical Gloucester expertise saved, restored and put back to doing what it was built for.
Although now sadly passed away, a very good friend of mine worked at Wingets during the 1970;s until closure. He worked on the assembly line building U.K. and export completed dumpers, so unfortunately wouldn't have made any of Dumpy's larger components.
The Winget works was in the site of the world renowned Gloucester Railway Carriage & Wagon works. The works are now home to Gloucester karting centre, and are all that's left of an extensive industrial conurbation between most of the Bristol road and the Gloucester to Sharpness canal/Gloucester docks.
My best mate has a Benford dumper, also Lister powered, which is very similar to the Winget dumpers. This one dates from the early 1960's. and we were amazed to find that the rear wheel brake shoes were the same as those fitted to our Vauxhall Cresta P.A's that we own also made in the late 1950's/early 1960's.
Really enjoyed your other vids, any updates on Tanningcote Town?

I've been busy gardening so Tanningcote has been a little neglected. However eBay is my friend so there is a lot more rolling stock coming soon!

You can't kill them. And they have a unique sound. Had a visit from a random stranger the other day, "you got a Lister diesel mate?" Erm, yep!

For how much it costs to get people in to do stuff, and now I've got the machines, I think you might be on to something!! The quote for rock breaking was the same as a brand new rock breaker.... Sieve bucket next then a rock grab!

@@robertltomlinson go for it that's what Andrew Camarata did a decent trailer and somthing to haul them in the future was quoted £300 to do a concrete slab for my new shed so I'm doing my own no skills I've level the ground use some scrap paving slabs layed them filled in the gaps with concrete and crushed bricks built my own form from some scrap wood ready to pour concrete about 3 inches above the flags and 3 inches extra around the perimeter then skim it flat cost me under £40 in materials and a trowl a spirit level and materials for the concrete used the money Ives save on on Rc parts and tools form my man cave/shed 😁
