A very grand song performed fantastically. Ik wil alles met jet delen actually gave me hope for Dutch-language songs--it's perceived as a clunky language for songs, but this makes it quite strong (or at least nullifies the harsh sounds). I love how it comes together here, even with the muted coronet in the end. Either this or Vrede is my favorite Dutch entry ever, but I lean towards this one! P.S. 1990 brought such beautiful entries from both Belgium and the Netherlands, and they both deserved better.
The Dutch lyrics were written in such a way that there were no "ch" or "g" sounds. For Belgium this wasn't necessary as we pronounce those sounds in a much softer way.
Great emotional song! Love the chorals when all 5 sing together. the blond one (Alice) wrote and composed the song and her sister Caren was the main leadsinger. They scored big hits in the Netherlands and worldwide in the 80's and had a short reunion in 2013
This was my favourite going into the contest of 1990, thanks to the wonderful arrangement at the NSF. However, that arrangement was hacked to pieces in Zagreb to fit the three-minute slot and I felt really disappointed when I watched it. Still one of my favourite ESC songs.
I´ve always been a fan of Maywood and their music. This song was so underrated, my winner that year. Ilike the Dutch version but the song would probably done better in English. Cannot understand why Maywood did not become a famous group as some others, even if they did gain popularity in South America (singing in Spanish).
Maywood was my favorite before contest, after I watched ESC preview. But in ESC song was not good as in their nation final. Song sound much better in Dutch national final and for me better dresses they had in Duth national final.
