    Helpful video. Insects are another reason for unpleasant odors. Here, where i live, we have insects that we call "stink bugs." When one of them is between the fins when you turn on the heater you are reminded of why they are called that. Thanks for making the video.👍

    When I acquired a home yes it was given to me after my dad passed away the home has baseboard heating. I knew they were never cleaned so I was going to clean them before I moved in. I wasn’t expecting them to be god dam nasty there was dust hair dirt something that looked like nicotine it was sticky just throw up nasty. What I did to clean them was added a little water to windex and sprayed everything. The heat exchanger went from looking brown to shiny silver. I was amazed for the nicotine I used car wheel cleaners it turns purple when it hits dirt and smells awful but it cleaned it up really good. I also went along and coved all the exposed pipe that didn’t have a heat exchanger on it with foam to keep the heat in the pipe.

    I haven’t cleaned mine in over 10 years. I’m doing that TODAY. single woman I didn’t even know they were supposed to be vacuumed I always just wiped the outside . Oops
