@@anat6360I think the point is that the range is long enough for Ukraine to hit russias rear. To hit the stuff supporting russias fronts.
I think the term long range means. Long range for this type of missile.
Thankfully Ukraine have superb drones to hit targets that are really at a long range.

@@anat6360This is actually the point made by Jake Broe in his latest video. “Long Range” means ICBMs with a range of up to 6k miles. ATACMS are short range; it’s just that they’re slightly longer range than the munitions previously authorised.

@@9ragis These ATACMS are in short supply and would hardly made any difference At most , thf US could spare a hundred or 2 at the most.
Compare that to Russia which has launched close to 6000 missiles to date after 3 yrs. Now you know why Ukraine power grid

Really, trump cares about what people think, yet he is defined by many intelects as a narrsiscits a hole. Who doesn't care what people think, giving him this legendary tick skin. You see, there are just opinions by various sides. And both are never right but never exactly wrong.
The continuation of the Us empire is all that matters, not the fictional drawn up personalities of presidents or rules ? For the public or stories and distractions of lawsuits etc.
This whole biden handing the rains over to trump under such circumstances is just yet another clumsy distraction of which I'm certain peace making after a huge arms export and expenditure these past years about land.
Land being the most useful justifier for all these actionable actions. And of course, governments keeping us safe and legitimising themselves as they steer us clear of ww while keeping the legitimacy of banks and paper in circulation. All just an entirely pre corindated arranged game of mutually exchange cooperation and essentially blissful security for a particular class set 😂

Why's everyone calling them "long distance" missiles??
According to info LONG distance weapon has a reach of more than 5500 km! The ATACM's have a reach of up to 300 km. It's a real difference!
So I wouldn't even call them medium range weapons.

I think some one thought American escalation isn't a thing anymore because Putin need Trumps good will for a peace deal or effectively Ukrainian surrender. But if the US gives this permission now, Britain, France and Germany (And the rest of Europe) can do it to. Witch means the weapons from Europe are more effective from now on without the need for Europeans needing to "escalate" when the US abandons democratic tradition.
At least we Europeans can from now on donate weapons ment for Russia. Literally!

Russia is winning and will continue to win, Ukraine simply doesn't have the resources (even with Western aid) and most especially the manpower to win an attritional war. You Russians should be living like the Swiss, with all your vast natural resources. Instead, a small circle of people is profiting. You’ve done so much harm to other countries-occupying them, forcing them into the Soviet Union, and keeping them under oppression. You’ve partially occupied Georgia. Now you’ve attacked Ukraine because it wants to live differently-all just to preserve the power of a former KGB president? And please, don’t bring up NATO expansion and Russia’s security. The countries around you fear you; that’s why they wanted and want to join NATO. What if you freed yourselves from your oppressors and invested your country’s wealth in your people and society instead of politicians and their oligarchs?

We should be asking more important questions than how important the limited atacam range extension is. Like what is an appropriate response if a nuclear weapon is used? Or are we waiting for it to happen then deciding a response, e.g reactionary not pre prepared, let’s discuss what to say if Russia fires a 1st nuke, where are we escalating to ? if its on a nato member it is y if its more than 1 on a nato member its z. Then Russia know where their escalation ends and his threat is retaliated with i hope not but if you do we will be responding to your 1st fire 1st use of a nuke. As we can only retaliate to a 1st nuke it requires Russia to throw the first nuke before we can retaliate, lets pressure Russia with their threat to go for 1st use undermines global security lets get China and India’s response to a Russian 1st use of a nuke build pressure to let all Russians know their 1st use is the cause of our reaction. So their threats are re buffed.

It’s like the German Army in January 1945. The Ukrainians are being driven back on all fronts - including in the Kursk province of Russia, which they had opened with much hope and fanfare in August. More importantly, they are running out of soldiers. This is not a war of territory but of attrition. The only resource that counts is soldiers and here the calculus for Ukraine is not positive.

Low morale and desertion, as well as draft-dodging, are now significant problems for Ukraine. These factors are exacerbating already serious recruitment issues, making it hard to supply the front lines with fresh troops.
History knows of no example were taking on Russia in an attritional contest has proved successful. Let’s be clear: this means there is a real possibility of defeat - there is no sugar-coating this.
The situation is perilous and as bad as it has ever been for Ukraine. Western powers cannot afford another strategic disaster like Afghanistan which, in the words of Ernest Hemingway, happened “gradually, then suddenly”.
There are limits to the losses Ukraine can take. We do not know where that limit lies, but we’ll know when it happens. Crucially, there will be no victory for Ukraine. There is not, and never has been, a western strategy except to bleed Russia as long as possible.
We need a realistic answer to what an acceptable settlement, now looks like - as well as the extent to which it is achievable, and whether the west is really going to pursue it. And then for western leaders to act accordingly.
A starting point could be accepting that Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk are lost - something an increasing number of Ukrainians are beginning to say openly.
So, it is time for Nato and the U.S. in particular to articulate a viable end to this nightmarish ordeal.
