The loss of a mother is one of the biggest tragedy in a persons life. Nothing will suffice to deal with that loss but faith and hope to see them one day again in the hereafter. Pray for them and give sadqa in their names, maybe it will be something (though it will never be enough) that will benefit them for all they have given you

I dislike seeing things like this because my mother has mental issues and was a alcoholic who was very negative towards everyone growing up and even into old age. So this is not true for everyone.
That is okay. It may not apply to every single circumstance. But you still have the obligation to be patient with her. No human being is perfect. For the vast majority of sons and daughters out there though, many are neglectful towards their parents when they grow up older. This is the time to run to them and show love, patience, and gratitude.
If your mother has mental issues then her mistakes are forgiven because she is not well and in islam mentally ill people won't be judged the same as the rest. So every good thing you would do for your mom even though she did not deserve it , will only benefit you in the day of judgement. All good deeds, especially the ones for your mother.
