Was it only safety, or were the baldnobbers a problem for some reason, too ?cause I remember hearing they had a little to do with it.
@@Spinning_pigeon1009the Baldknobbers weren’t a problem, the old coaster was just outdated. In fact, the Baldknobbers depicted in FITH are not exactly alike the actual Bald Knobbers organizations that sprung up in Taney and Christian Counties around 1883. The Bald Knobbers (that’s the actual name, not the combined “Baldknobbers” spelling) started out as a vigilante group to help against crime in the counties. Over time, however, some folks within the organizations began using the groups to do more harm than good, hence where the popularized “Baldknobbers” lore came from. The town of Marmaros, depicted as being burned in the FITH ride, started out as a town next to Marvel Cave (then called Marble Cave, due to their belief they’d find marble inside) and eventually faded out when the mine was shut down. After that, the town was burned to the ground, but it had already been almost entirely abandoned by that point.
I’m a history nerd, so I can’t help telling stories of the area when I have the opportunity. Lol

For about 52 years that ride has brought joy to many families. My grandparents rode that with my parents and my parents took me as well. The last year for the original ride, I was able to take my daughter on and it almost made me cry! Just this weekend we rode the new ride and she was just as thrilled! Great memories at this place and many more to come!
I remember being a little girl watching the train robbery, “you apologize!” “A pile of what?” (You would have to have been there). Such a rich history!

If you like this ride, there’s a similar one in Dollywood near Pidgeon Forge, TN. It is almost the same idea of a story ride indoors based on a fire, just Appalachian.
I've been on that one. It's Blazing Fury, I think. I hate it, but it's not because it's bad or anything, just preference. My femily loves it, and I hope it's still working well.

I watching this video as I am in Branson. I love Silverdollar city it’s one of the best amusement parks and it’s super clean. The new fine hole is cool but the old one is just nostalgic. but I love Branson. I’ve been going there since I was a young kid. My family loves going boating here in Silverdollar city as it is amazing as it is an amazing amusement park clean super nice. Thanks for coming and checking out Silverdollar city

I live in Missouri. I rode the original fire in the hole. I loved that ride, and I can't wait to ride it.
I think fire in the hole is my second favorite, powder keg is my first fav I'd go on it over and over again if i could
I work at the park and it makes me so proud to see good reviews of my work place even if I had no part of it.

Branson is such a great city, I was born there and visit quite often but I don’t think ive ever been to SDC so I’ll have to try it sometime

I went to Branson just a couple weeks ago and rode this ride for my second ever roller coaster! (Thunderation was my first 😬 bad idea lol) I had a lot of fun with this coaster! since you have no idea what’s coming up, the drops feel like it goes on for an eternity!

Worked at the original “Fire in the Hole” in the mid 80’s. Very glad they are paying homage.
I really enjoyed the upgraded addition but I definitely miss how much more detail the former version had. Especially toward the end of the ride. The new version feels like there's so much empty space, especially above you. However, the newer special effects are much appreciated.
as someone who loves to go to sdc thanks to my proximity to it, I'm sad to see it go but i can't wait to see how it changes, sdc is such a fun theme park and i hope you had a blast

Quick story, The theme park Dollywood was last owned by silver dollar city and has a ride very similar called blazing fury also themed around firefighters, though its a bit outdated

I worked at SDC for 3+ years and might I say most people in maintenance HATED that ride before they even set the foundation for it cause they destroyed some employee parking that was close to the clock in station to build it T-T. Sad times and even sadder long walks to clock in

This is a hot take but as a branson native, the hold fire in the hole scared me and I would wait for my family to ride it because I would refuse to ride the old fire in the hole. I am excited to see the new ride
I went there 3 weeks ago but fire in the hole was closed due to some “technical difficulties”. Rode the train instead. Train never gets old for me

I'm pretty sure, since there's endless amounts of theme park and roller-coaster TH-cam/social media accounts, they all just start small with posting content from a few parks then the following quickly grows after a year, to the point where the ad revenue from the views & followers is most likely funding the continued theme park adventures 🧐

Hey that’s in the city next to me! My family has season tickets to sdc but I have been here 4 years and still never been there…maybe one day but I have really bad anxiety and places like that are a no go for me

It’s pretty much the same ride with fresh paint. They raised the money to rehab the ride by selling all that fire in the hole last ride merchandise before it closed.

I live north Arkansas near Missouri south border Lake and rivers and i rode " Thunderation Train Steam train Coaster the fastest and tallest ride with a very very sharp turns in 1990s . Does Silver Dollars Park still have Thunderations High speed Coaster ?

Bro that’s crazy we are from Minnesota and we came to Missouri Branson on June 1st and spend the week until June 8th and on the 3rd we went to there to ride that and it was so fun
