- The Henderson family have made a new friend: will they be able to welcome Bigfoot into their home?
What is Harry and the Hendersons (1987) about?
Harry and the Hendersons is a 1987 American fantasy comedy film directed and produced by William Dear and starring John Lithgow, Melinda Dillon, Don Ameche, David Suchet, Margaret Langrick, Joshua Rudoy, Lainie Kazan, and Kevin Peter Hall. Steven Spielberg served as its uncredited executive producer, while Rick Baker provided the makeup and the creature designs for Harry. The film tells the story of a Seattle family's encounter with the cryptozoological creature Bigfoot, partially inspired by the numerous claims of sightings in the Pacific Northwest, California, and other parts of both the United States and Canada over three centuries.
While returning from a trip, the Hendersons' car hits an animal on the road. They take the animal home and develop a special bond with it. But they struggle to hide the creature from the authorities.

Can’t lie, that smile is so heartwarming.
0:19 always makes me smile with how kind "Harry" looks.
That's really good effects, better than this cgi rubbish that's all over the place.
still a great movie. they don't make them anywhere near this good anymore.
how do i miss movies like these ... non politicaly correct family movies with a heart of gold ... the 80's were truelly the best of times ...
1:27 I always get a good chuckle at this part.
Something tells me the reason why Harry cut the back of his hand and was bleeding seen at 2:38 is when he broke a hole on the door to open it at 1:16. (In the beginning when I first saw this movie, I thought the reason he cut his hand was when the Henderson family hit him with their car and he hit his hand very hard onto the street).
4:09 that Recation is priceless
Love the 80'S

Punches through a wall nothing....punches through a door bleeding....go figure.
@Mic-oi5kb That's true since I remember he punched a hole in the wall to see if he could feel any taxidermy animal heads hanging on the wall not wanting to look but, he broke the wall with his right hand and there weren't pieces of the wall to give him a cut. Then when he punches a hole through the basement door, he used his left hand and most likely that basement door had wall paper on it which gave him a paper cut since a piece of the door was seen next to his left hand at 1:25 (that hand that was bleeding) where that most likely gave him a paper cut on his left hand. If it wasn't a paper cut, maybe that piece of the door was sharp and pointy that gave him a cut.
