I really don't understand how the stp came into picture and why it is blocking the port what is the concept here? Switch having more than 2 links can block one port which is trunk in between the switches but in this case 3 how stp blocking the port and what is the technical reason please explain like we dont have any idea abd consider a none to us
Thank you for sharing this..good information. On Slide no.19 - i think switch is putting trunk link in inconsistent state due to native vlan mismatch. Did you get that mismatch syslogs?
Yes, when native VLAN mismatch noticed on trunk port then local and remote VLAN will be kept in BKN state and syslog messages will be printed that native vlan is different ethX/Y which trigger to inconsistency.
Hi, very much informative, but on 3 case scenario where we made trunk port and allowed Native vlan, communication is happening, have checked practically. no port is going in Blocking state, and it should not as its connected to PC/Router. Please do clarify.
Yes, I have done it practically. Logs are mentioned in this site www.evanetworktech.com/course/vlan/ . sorry for delayed response. Port will go to BKN state.
well done and Good Explanation
Glad you liked it
