man i love these videos. as a glazier you almost forget that there's so many of us across the world. feels like such a niche job sometimes

Thanks, Pat, we totally feel the same way. It's always been a generational thing. It is definitely not as well known as all the other trades. We appreciate your comment and support. We are just trying to spread the word and help new generations learn about glazing and join us.

It’s definitely an old school glazier trick.

It also works with your phone flash light. However, the flame colour difference is less obvious nowadays coatings tend do be as neutral as possible.

We do see a lot of people using their phones or other flashlights nowadays but this is more fun.

that would be something wouldn't it? But there are some coating detectors that can give you more info. Maybe not specific manufacturer but definitely if its a single, double, triple silver, etc...

Down here in Florida I have recently been talking my customers into not using Low -E glass, its very common for it to go bad down here and if you add up replacement cost versus energy savings, well its not worth the energy savings. Better off with a tinted glass like bronze or grey.

Hey Zip, Thanks for the comment. That's really interesting that they aren't holding up as well. Are you offering a different service like tints for sun fading for furniture, flooring, etc? With the sun in Florida not having low E has to be tough on that stuff.
