Shane says, “Beautiful.” We all look at Molly. There are so many steps that make a packing line run accurately, smoothly, and cleanly. You are teaching your audience, and doing a great job. The bag of potatoes the consumer buys at the grocery store has such care in just the bagging process.
We never wash our potatoes and they last from Sept. when we dig until April…sometimes May. We always save enough to plant in May and haven’t bought seed potatoes but once in 25 years. We grow enough to hopefully get 4 bushels so we can share. Enjoy your videos. Susie in the Blue Ridge Mts of Va.
Molly, there’s another great channel for your mechanical do it all husband…and you. “Dirt Perfect” is an amazing man, a one man very witty and smart band. Fabulous mechanic and a good influence. Nice.
This channel is awesome. I have learned so much about the process of potato farming. Also lets not forget mention your beautiful dog the star of all your videos.
This was an especially good and interesting video. Well done. The camera work is always good, but this particular one was especially good. Keep up the great work guys. Fascinating process.👍
Molly you are doing a great job of getting lots of different shots of the operation making it easier to understand. Thanks for going to all the trouble for us. Can you explain the different size of potato (small, medium, large) for Chef's, #1s,#2s and so on. See Ya Next Time.
Totally relate to keeping "old parts" around. Sometimes just having a part in hand to take and match up somewhere is helpful, without completely taking something totally apart first. Good stuff.
Your channel makes me appreciate all the hard work that goes into growing and harvesting our food. I can’t believe how cheap potatoes are which is to say I am sure you should get a lot more money for what you do. Thanks! From A suburban/ lifelong city dweller.
Shane's term "Bit -in-Ass" brings to my mind a lot of days where it was literally hard to SIT anywhere the next day! I am loving this channel more, and more each video, because of who you two are, and for what you do together. Keep up the great work on these videos and your gonna have a Golden TH-cam Certificate hanging on the Stores front door!
My nanny Alice used to work in a potato packing hall in the Fens of Cambridgeshire. When I was a lad - I helped in the school holidays and it was exhausting. Great work and such memories.
Such an infectious smile and a beauty set of pearly whites. Molly, your filming and editing skills and narration get better all the time. After watching here for quite a while now I'm amazed that a humble bag of potats can be bought for such a reasonable price. I'm pretty near to you in southeast New Brunswick. 50lb bags are going for 8-10 bucks. Astonishing when you think of the millions in equipment it takes to get from farm to table. I suppose it's all about the volume. Cheers from your Canadian neighbour.
Great video! I discovered your channel a while ago and realized after a few episodes youre literally located in the next town over from me. Love seeing local farmers supplying the big supermarkets!
Molly and Shane you do a lot of hard work to keep every thing running. Great job interesting to see you maintenance everything, glad to see I'm not the only one to change out bad parts with not so bad parts
I'm a FANATIC for mashed potatoes😃. Mashed potatoes LOADED with butter... Can't get enough! Glad i found this channel. Its interesting for sure. And Molly, is EASY on the eyes too...😊😊😁😁❤❤
Good that you guys supply Demoulas. I always look for the locally grown products when we go shopping there (in Somerville, MA). There are some from the Conn. River Valley in Massachusetts also. Supporting local producers, even if it's a few cents more, is always good policy in my opinion. Have you guys been shipping by rail out of the region? I know they were moving potatoes from Aroostook County to Washington State a couple of years back by rail. With CSX now owning the former Maine Central lines and them doing extensive track upgrading, the service is getting better and better. Good stuff and hopefully a portent of better days ahead for the State of Maine products. Good luck. Happy Holidays!
I wanna say I am thankful for all of the family farms. It is important that we know where our food comes from. So thank you Bell Farms you and those like you are vitally important to the world…you feed us for Pete’s sake! I mean come on people!! 😂 Happy Thanksgiving ya’ll!
Good morning Molly and Shane, gotta love a efficient system and work environment. It’s getting to feel like winter here in Missouri, it got down to 28 degrees last night and this weekend it’s supposed to be in the upper teens. Have a nice week and Happy Thanksgiving to you, Shane and your crew.
Any way you look at it, bagging up 3-4 million pounds of spuds in relatively small bags is one hell of a lot of work. even with machines. I admire your efforts, and I hope you all get some well deserved time off over the holidays. Thanks for the video.
Not thinking ahead , but if I had I would have put an order in for Bell potatoes to enjoy for my Thanksgiving dinner , It would have been a great honor to added something unique to our dinner and would have provided a great story to share with our friends and family .
I was at Market Basket last Thursday and bought a 10lb bag of potatoes .They were the only ones in the store so I think they were yours. Happy Thanksgiving to all
Hi guys great video today.. i went to the grocery store yesterday and got a 5lb bag of potatoes for one dollar i cant believe anyone is making money at those prices.. im here in canada 🇨🇦
Hey there, spiders and small fruit flies tend to to be the worst of it as far a insects go. In the summer heat If we leave bad vegetables, potatoes or corn husks around we will attract some fruit flies. But we try and dump all the barrels we use for that stuff daily and they get some disinfectant too that helps. We had a skunk get into the corn packing area a couple summers ago, that was a stinky experience! Luckily we do not have a problem with rodents in the building. They are obviously outdoors, but we try and keep the grounds clear of clutter and keep the grass cut in the summer, these are the best deterrent for rodents. We do have a local company monitor our pest management program. We use bait boxes outdoors and have some tin cat traps in the building to catch anything that does make it in. Good question! Oh and Bessy is the head of pest control hahah.
Ok Molly, things Shane needs for Christmas,#1 a battery powered grease gun #2 a gas or electric powered 4 wheel man lift that can lift up to 1,000 lbs. put the power washer and 1person to wash the storage building , do away with the unsafe ladders, Awesome job and fantastic video, keep them coming and Happy Thanksgiving!
You can greatly reduce your paper towel waste by using paint rollers and squeegiees when cleaning the large surfaces if that's a concern. TBH a nice large scrub-vac would be super handy. Basically a tote with a big shop-vac thing.
I believe you guys mentioned getting fertilizer from Canada. You guys better get it now as price is going up 25% in January. Especially potash, it all comes from Canada.
This channel is rendering service and doing a great job in helping folks understand "WHERE DOES FOOD COME FROM ?"
These farming videos need to be shown in every school in America.

Molly you are doing a great job of getting lots of different shots of the operation making it easier to understand. Thanks for going to all the trouble for us. Can you explain the different size of potato (small, medium, large) for Chef's, #1s,#2s and so on. See Ya Next Time.

Amazed at how many people on the line
Interesting video. How do you deal with insects/animals in the warehouse/packaging ares shown in the video?

Miss you, we enjoyed the family reunions. Haven't seen y'all since then. Great to see you are doing well.

Good morning. Not much tater growing here in Tennessee.
Happy Thanksgiving folks
Like a chalkboard scrape the dust pan did for sound. All good, it was short and ear awaking.😄

very nice
Russia is now rationing food.
Potatoes involved too.
We are lucky for now.
Thanks to Truckers too
