Never thought my passion for sewing would take me to a place like this, a place once taken for granted in the history books now something I really appreciate seeing! Thank you soo much for sharing!
We all live life at such a fast pace now its nice to just relax for a few minutes and appreciate of skills and pride in their work these people had. So Glad you enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed your visit there Tommy, it's an interesting place for sure. I always remember Fred Dibnah visiting there, and interviewing and elderly Spinster, who said she thought she would never learn how to run the machines because she was 'Gormless' ! :-)
Its incredible how things have changed since hundreds of people spent their working life in the mill, and lets face it it wasn't that long ago. Fred must have loved being there.I really enjoyed my visit and will certainly return.
Excellent video. I remember watching Adam Hart Davis in his 'What the Victorians Did For Us?' series exploring this mill in an episode from when I was quite young. I was always fascinated and have wanted to visit ever since. Lovely to see a video exploring the site - certainly the next best thing. The sound must have deafening with all the looms operating. Certainly a contrast to tranquil nature of the outside scenes in your last shots. Thanks for sharing - Hayden.
Thank You Hayden,Glad you liked the video. You are right about the noise,it is deafening yet silent outside. It was fascinating to learn about the lives of the mill workers. They certainly worked for their money.
Very nice museum, the machines are excellent, I want to visit the Queen Street Mill Textile museum, who should I contact about this? Please help me. Savaş Yılmaz Textile - Weaving Teacher
Excellent video, good steady shots and very sharp. I would be interested to know which programme you use for editing and preparing for TH-cam upload. I'm a bit worried about the time of your visit as it is at this moment the 17th August 2014, your visit was on the 31st August 2014. How did you manage that? However, a great video, I really enjoyed watching it. I am planning to make a visit on Saturday the 23rd August, I hope that everything is working. Well done.
10 out of 10 for observation,This was a deliberate mistake. Well OK I'll be honest I put in the wrong date and thanks for bringing that to my attention..I'm delighted you enjoyed the video. I am using Cyberlink Power Director for editing videos at the moment. I hope you enjoy your visit to Queen Street Mill.
If they need to save money, could they just sell the products that are being manufactured? Presumably the mill was a business before it became a museum, so maybe keeping it going more rather than less would help things?
Totally agree the council of Burnley are useless and totally inept and the person was right it was a business before a museum so surely they can make it back into a viable business again?they could at least of asked us what should happen to the mill!trust me this council would sell and demolish the mill today if the ground is more valuable than the mill ,criminal if that happens!
I have the memory of the smell of the place from a school trip. Wonderful place that even then filled me with imagination

Steam driven looms.. Find some footage of the old C and K looms if you can..
It would now be impossible to imagine the noise of all the looms working together. No ear protection then.
Why all the folk who worked in mill were amazing lip readers my mum was unbelievable!
Is there any way I could use this footage in a programme I am doing on the elections

This is wonderful mill is now shut down to save Lancashire County Council money. Its a disgrace
I couldn't agree with you more.
If they need to save money, could they just sell the products that are being manufactured? Presumably the mill was a business before it became a museum, so maybe keeping it going more rather than less would help things?
Very sad
