They had a concert in LA last October. I was there alone and probably 15 years older than everyone else. The next day I found out my Dad died during the time I was at the concert; not good mobile service at the venue.. you'd know if you'd been. The texts came thru after I left. Needless to say I'll always be emotional about their music having been the notes of his rising. Thank you Amber for your art and all you've unknowingly done for me this year.
her songs mean the world to me. i feel so personally attached to everything she sings, it brings tears to my eyes. thank you, amber. thank you for everything you do.

sigh....it will just never get old to listen to this....hands down, best ever live show I have been to. Caught her Seattle show in August, blew my mind.
a couple of hours before leaving to japan in 2019 October . i could not sleep because i was too excited about my trip and i you tubed Japanese house because i was going to homestay in japan for one month and thats how i discovered this song . i clicked on it by accident .. i remember i listened to this song a good 10 times before boarding my flight that morning . this song always reminds me of travelling to Japan from Canada . and i stayed at a Japanese House as well haha
her voice sounds so different from what she looks like, i can’t get used to seeing her voice on live sessions. so good though, japanese house is always haunting and beautiful
I mean... they have layers of effects on her vocals, as well as pitch correct. And this video is rife with vocal takes they went back in and re-recorded. If you don't believe me, watch her mouth and sound comes out even when she's already pulled away from the microphone. No, it isn't the keyboardists harmonies either. It's a great song regardless, but lets not act like this group isn't taking a page out of The 1975 playbook and fixing the shit out of their performance with studio magic.
This song gives me a really similar vibe to listening to Keane music, the melody, lyrics and vocals are so similar I had to double take for a moment. Seriously good stuff
This song, quite literally, changed my life. That is not hyperbole. Lilo made me experience a crisis with an ultimately positive outcome. It's two years down the track, my entire life is different and I can trace the lines all back to the first time I listened to this song. And I'm thankful for it.
Why do lefties do that. I'm a lefty myself and I don't understand why anyone would want to fret with their non-dominent hand (although when I play piano, yeah it's the hard stuff on the right hand), but why?
Dinosaur you realise she’s playing it upside-down and not the way it’s supposed to be played right?? Everybody always frets with their non-dominant hand
The chord changes in this one instantly connected. When relatively simple parts come together like this, to me, it says a lot about the writer(s). Great melody, great job!
literally has to be my favorite band ive found in the last couple years. somehow, just my miracle, i found TJH when my life is really going through changes.
one time I was going to see The Japanese House play at a small venue in New Orleans, but didn’t buy tickets early enough because I was like “there’s no way they’re going to be sold out, there still kind of underground. I’ll buy tickets at the door.” Got to the door: SOLD OUT. I still can’t forgive myself.
if you look closely the strings are still strung up the way it does on a right handed guitar . so shes playing the guitar upside down with the strings up side down as well
@@TheFortKnight What do you mean by "not very original"? are you dumb? Some people are just born left-handed and it's completely normal. There's no original or such thing.
Someone know what is Amber's type of voice? I assume she's Contralto. Funny fact: The First time I discovered Japanese House on Spotify I thought It was a man, when I saw her in Live I thought It was a guy with Kurt Cobain hairstyle 😂😂🌌🎸🎶
I find it funny how this is still a thing (not in the rude sense of the word), I had the same with one of the vocalists of Ultimate Kaos in "Casanova", I really thought it was a woman singing most of it and was weirdly confused to see it was a man when I for the first time saw a clip of the group somewhere (years a go, but still) :P.
Yes. She's contralto and, ad a little comment, we shouldn't assume people's genders by their voice! I get why you did it and it's hard for me as well. But we must put all our efforts into it!
@@patriciasalcedo6150 I understand your sentiment, but I don't see what's wrong with thinking that somebody is a certain gender based on their voice.
