There is NO other show like this on air. I really wish they would of kept the show going! It is like having conversations with your friends and getting real raw advice. These women are wise and have a lot of emotional intelligence. I love the show because they can talk about serious things but also laugh about it. Not only are they good commenters they’re also diverse so we get to hear from everyone’s view point. There’s nothing fake about this show. It’s sucks to see it go 😢 bring it back!

I loved Adrienne's last point about the ex that criticized everything she did. I loved Loni's addition to it too. To Loni's point, not only was the ex being controlling, they were also projecting. They were projecting all of the insecurities they felt within themselves onto their partner. I feel like the phrase "the right person" is just someone who's not only ready to love you correctly, but they are ready to truly love themselves correctly and treat you the way that they would want to be treated.

My brother went through the same thing when he was going through his divorce. He's been with his girlfriend for about 8 months now, and she's crazy about him (& vice versa). If I ever saw his ex again, I don't know if I'd go off on her because of the hell that she put him through (especially while they were getting divorced), or if I'd thank her for kicking him out because it turned out to be the best thing that she could've done for him

I was like you where at first, I felt like a failure for leaving but now, I’m so grateful I made that gut-wrenching decision before we had any children. The red flags were neon signs! They weren’t even red anymore by the time I filed for the divorce.
I’ve met an amazing man since that experience but now I have to unlearn all the toxic and controlling things my ex used to do that started to become normal for me. This new man literally loves and appreciates the things my ex didn’t even like about me. It’s been such an eye opening experience!!!

To that woman ....Her Ex ruined her is far far to familiar story for ladies.
But the message in that lie he ruined you, is you have to know who you really are, and no one can ruin you without permission. When you don't know how incredible you are and that you can't be changed by anyone, a loser will step in and try. Unconditional self Love care is a pre requisite to relationship. Gotta know your Truth that no one can make you wobble shake, or doubt yourself ever. No one is worth suffering over, or pulling you away from your own joy, love, peace. You always first.

It's sad how he treated her. He was older and way more experienced -divorced with kids and for a girl in her 20s Adrienne was way in over her head being with that man. These large age gap relationships where the one partner is still young are usually riddled with problems such as control, the younger partner overly wanting to appease the older one and desperately trying to prove they're mature. The older partner will always take advantage of that.

Girl, your better days are yet to come. Your latter days could be better than your former ones IF you allow it. Speak a word over yourself. Encourage yourself. You’re not too old, and it’s not too late. Who knows…you may be that person God will use to be a divine example to others who feel like too much time has past to get what they desire. You’re time is only up when you’re dead! Are you dead yet? Then keep living! Better days are coming. Start preparing by changing the way you think. A changed mind changes the paradigm of possibilities.

Adrienne's story about her ex made me cringe. I'm a very nerdy person and I geek out over superheroes and Harry Potter and other nerdy things. I can get very animated and excited talking about my interests. I work in a male dominated industry and I always notice how there are some men in my office whose faces just light up whenever I get passionate talking about my interests, and then there are the other guys who look at me like I'm an idiot or I'm pathetic when I get that way. I will never understand it. Seeing someone be happy to talk about something that makes them happy would only ever put a smile on my face. I made a vow to myself a long time ago to marry a man who finds my personality and my quirks to be endearing instead of a burden to him!! There will be someone who just GETS YOU and is FOR YOU. Don't settle for anything less.

I didn't even watch it all the way through yet.. but i use to think like this.. i had an ex that ruined a lot of things for me.. but then i realized what was going on with me internally that i allowed certain behaviors.. or being so understanding when i should have left. Also it is a learning experience as well and a beautiful one.. walking away is hard but powerful because sometimes that person desperately needs help to fix themselves and you walking away could give them that push maybe.. unless they are those types that jump from person to person and learn absolutely nothing and constantly repeat what they refuse to repair within themselves or past issues.. but all and all honestly.. i use to think this way about my ex.. because my ex messed me up internally alittle but i learned a lot and honestly walking away and ending things empowered me to find me again.. fall back in love with me.. work out.. travel.. try new things.. somehow weirdly i was finding myself again.. and i also had my flaws as well.. but it gave me insight on the things i did wrong and the crazy stuff they did.. and it gave me an example of what i don't want in my life at all.. i wanted accountability but some people's perception are tainted.. but every ex taught me something.. and i was very grateful for lessons some taught me hellll no never again.. or maybe we were better off as friends.. or just powerful lessons like the mistakes they made or mistakes i made.. I've learned not every break up has to be tragic.. it can be very beautiful and a blessing in disguise 😉

I can kinda relate to what adrienne is saying. In my experience, the guy didn't necessarily shame me or make me feel bad about myself, but when we had different opinions (especially on important values/beliefs), i would question how i viewed things and try to see it their way. I didn't fully buy into it or change my views, but i also didn't stand by my opinions firmly enough. I was too open to try and see it their way instead of accepting the fact that we simply disagreed. I think it was bc i liked them so much and wanted us to be on the same page so badly. And i think my own insecurities of not fully trusting myself contributed to it too. Working on knowing learning myself wholly so i can be confident in my convictions. Best of luck to anyone out there on the same journey! 🤗

'My !They look so Cool together...'

The advice Gar remembers from him should be building their life together right now.
In fact,l turned Dull when she said he's like a Brother to her.

    Equally true for Loni Loveyou.

even in just friendships there are individuals who do all those things. we ourselves maybe controlling at times. recognize when unsolicited judgement is being passed.

When I was a little boy my mom took my siblings and I to the park...it was a very popular park with a lot of kids...she relaxed in the shade with her picnic blanket and watched us play...I was having so much fun with the other kids...I got a little tired, saw my mother there by herself and decided to run up to her and hang out...she then gently told me: "you know it's not good to act feminine like a girl..." This shocked me as a little boy as I quietly sat listening to her. She went on: "when you're a man you should act like a man..." And I remember just sitting there shocked and quiet...it's like she took the joy out of me and I didn't want to play anymore... I could never be my true self around her growing up ...or any of my siblings... So this conversation sort of struck a nerve...if someone doesn't appreciate you for you...they're not supposed to be in your life...I haven't seen or spoken to my mother in close to a decade... according to my siblings she does inquire about me from time to time but deep down she knows and understands that unless it's God's will, she's probably never gonna see me again.

My ex- brother in- law used to constantly tell my sister she laughed too much, showed too much teeth when she smiled, needed to lose weight, etc., etc., etc. She has always been an outgoing, fun, friendly person who loved to laugh. She was like that when he met her, including being what is called “ plus size”. So what was his problem? Evidently he didn’t really love her when they got married. It was just convenient for him to marry her, especially with his mother informing him of all the good things about her and how he couldn’t find a better woman than her. Even when she lost weight, he found other ways to make her feel bad about herself. They are no longer together, but it’s pretty sad when the person who claims to love you is jealous of you and tries to bring you down so that you will be just as miserable as they are. It’s just not worth it to waste your life that way.

This topic doesn't necessarily have to be linked to romantic relationships, but all relationships we have in life. From family to friends etc. The key is to be authentic in who you are and accept the way God made you because the man upstairs makes no mistakes. He’s deliberate with His creation.
The people that want you to be someone else aren’t for you. The best thing we can do is accept that and keep the party going by ourselves until God sends the people who won’t dim our shine.

I have an ex who was determined to see the worst in me. I’m naturally an inquisitive person, so when we’d go out with friends, I’d ask a lot of probing questions just to better understand a particular point or just to get to know someone a little deeper. But as soon as my ex and I were behind closed doors, they’d be like, “You were so shady. You said so-and-so but you really meant this…” or, “Yeah, I can tell you’re ape crazy deep down” and I’d be like, WHERE ARE YOU COMING UP WITH THIS STUFF??! A lot of things they assumed about me I could never even fathom to think or act on. I had a heart of gold and still do! How do you profess love to somebody, but speak negativity over their heart and spirit? The problem wasn’t me!

  • @mystique907
    @mystique907 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I see where the woman was going but if you allow yourself to get help/ therapy, you'll quickly turn it around and say "I allowed my ex to...". When that happens, you take the power back, know that you're in control and then ask, now what? (i.e. Adrienne's point; what did you learn from it?).
