No strike should only be doing 65 damage at level 8. Assault Deku does at least 74 damage on his alpha at level 8. Assault Deku is a able to now do to more damage at level 4 on his alpha than strike Bakugo can at level 8. That is disgusting. Strike Bakugo USED to be fun to play, he's not anymore.
Only reason I can think of them nerfing strike bakugo and leaving other characters the same is because they want people to spend money on the paid characters🤷♂️. Why play strike bakugo when you can 2 shot with dabi or 3 shot with hawks beta🤷♂️. But i could be wrong tho
His changes are basically ALPHA does less damage in general but they removed the reduce damage through walls. Gamma now is easier to connect all the hits making it harder for people to fall out of it.

I was definitely surprised about the nerf to Bakugou. I would assume that it was because of Hawks' inclusion and so they didn't want Bakugou doing as much damage through walls, but then why not just nerf the wall damage...And they buffed Endeavor's prominence in the same patch, so...I don't know what they're thinking.
For hawks I would nerf his damage by 5 at all level up thresholds. I would nerf his ammo by 10 as well. Reasoning - when they line up they basically instant break your shield and at level 1 the max damage they deal is 180(Ridiculous). Additionally, his beta's damage needs to be nerfed by 30 at all ranks IDC, dealing 130 damage level 1 is insane and you can do that multiple times. Furthermore, I would make it so that it knocks you down after you hit the first beta melee, that way you cannot just be run down by him skydiving you at mach 9 with no counter play. The problem to me is that these newer rapid characters do not have a consistent identity in their play style. For example, the base characters are very easy to understand and how you want to play them and how you want to play against them. You do your big combo and then run away since your cooldowns are long. You never one shot anyone but to make up for that you hit hard but inconsistently. Now with Mirio, Hawks, Rapid Bakugo and now soon to be Toga they just kind of don't have any meaningful way to punish them. Like Mirio IMO needed a damage nerf for sure, however I do not think the problem was the lack of counter play its just the cycling of abilities which quite literally make him invincible is annoying to god., Especially WHEN THEY CAN IGNORE TERRAIN. With Mirio it just felt like you had to wait through 2-3 cycles of his entire kit until you can interact with him. Now ByKing have just completely missed the point and instead of removing his survivability they instead started removing players skill expression by removing beta, alpha combo's Its punishing players for learning and getting better at characters, NOT addressing the problem at hand. My final example of this is Rapid Bakugo. Before it was just, wait for his two betas then punish him. As the rapid Bakugo player it meant you had to resource manage between your Beta's and special action. It created a recognisable player pattern between both party's and ensured players knew how to play against each other with recognisable weaknesses since he was basically untargetable during beta. . Now he has just devolved into a spam your abilities Bot where players have no Idea what is happening and just hoping that he misses his abilities and you can hopefully punish him. As for what you said about the balance changes, honestly it feels like the last somewhat interesting balance patch we got was in season 5 where strike Todoroki got his second Beta. Like the devs who used to do balance changes between seasons 1 -4 back then used to do changes that felt somewhat refreshing. However after 5 months of basically nothing interesting or OP characters actually being nerfed appropriately , the only conclusion I have/can come to is that they want to sell the newer OP shit. Like its incredibly depressing to think that ,however after that SUPER LAZY rapid Bakugo buff where he just instantly got 1 extra beta and 1 extra gamma instantly at level 1 I just felt it in my bones that it completely validates this theory/feeling. For me the worst feeling about all this is that we KNOW they have data/statistics on characters and what their win rates are. Of course win rate doesn't give you full context as to why a character is strong however as devs they should/NEED to know how each balance patch affects the games overall environment aka META. It's just too blatantly obvious that they want to work on content, WHICH IS GREAT, however we cannot have drought seasons like season 5 and 6 where nothing basically happens for 4 months , that's just bad game management. Like why wait until the start of season 7 to fix Overhauls knockback bug???? thanks for the suffering for 2 months I guess? I just think they need to be more receptive to players feedback since we are the livelihood of the game. Like by all means make a profit, work on other games but don't just ignore the game which is so clearly lining your pockets its incredibly disrespectful to the player base and to themselves. I agree with all of those changes besides the ammo nerf and the knock down after first beta hit. By 10 is way too noticeable I feel, most of those already aren't gonna hit unless you're thirsting a down or someone's running in a straight line without dodging. Then his beta hit is supposed to stack twice, that's the combo, the damaged should be nerfed maybe ever lower damage than just -30 hell it can be less than 100 damage at lvl 9, 60 idc but if there's a knockdown after just one hit 2 counting the first dash it's just kinda boring to land. For any characters nerf the damage and the cooldowns(or for toga add a cooldown she shouldnt be able to instantly transform after turning back), not the combos like Mirio. I play Hawks cause his abilities feel amazing and satisfying to pull off well not because of his current damage.
If you want to potentially rationalize it, its probably because the wall piercing, especially considering the new map additions. If you think about it that way it tracks considering all of the character with the ability to shoot through walls have been consistently getting nerfs, mirio, afo, endeavor, and now bakugo. Like people are too focused on damage numbers and not character identity when it comes to nerfs and buffs. With characters feeling op or mid when you consider the playerbase playstyles and not necessarily power creep. More straight forward the character is, the more "busted" they will probably feel.

I don't know. 500 hours of PC experience here, but at WORST it seems Red bakugo dropped from S tier to like, mid-high A tier and is finally balanced. I agree that his strength is now DIFFERENT from what it was early on when he was just a beam machine, instead focusing on his grenades and Gamma (Both of which being ridiculous skills on their own right combined with his mobility). I still think there's good reasons to choose him, mainly because he still is a solid and consistent character you get for free, but even then he has different purposes compared to Red Shoto, Denki and Dabi. If there is any striker that truly outclasses red Bakugo, it's red Deku, given they have a somewhat similar purpose (Mobility char that can do high burst damage and knockdown) with Redku just being overtuned in general. I don't doubt that he's not as strong as he was, but to say he's dead or been gutted is a bit of an over-reaction considering him alongside yellow Deku are the pinnacle of consistency.
I also wanna add that it's a little disingenuous to directly assume buffs and nerfs are dictated solely by who is in ticket or gacha rotation. I don't think it's an unreasonable claim at all, but it's a bit of a hasty and destructive one. Edit: As to why I MYSELF think they did the change, it's likely they did so less out of thinking he NEEDED it for the sake of balance, and more so out of wanting to simply change up his focus in battle. Shift direction away from Alpha as the sole damage dealer and make it far more reliable through walls (Maybe indeed thought of because of Hawks being introduced with his Gamma) while also making Gamma more consistent for a reliable burst damage option.
I would be less disingenuous to the idea of buffs and nerfs coming to the game based on the gacha but it’s happened on more than one occasion and this one feels VERY blatant with rapid bakugo getting the main banner instead of red deku the first skill set on the anniversary and with hawks addition but I do agree with a lot of your points it’s just a little heartbreaking to see
