Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has claimed that animal fat-laced ghee was used to make Tirupati laddus under his predecessor - Jagan Mohan Reddy. Though temple authorities have confirmed that adulterated ghee was delivered in July, they say the concerned shipments had been rejected and not used to make laddus. Palki Sharma tells you more.

I was eating laddu from years in Tirupati. Definitely quality has decreased in the recent years! I ate Anna Prasadham in temple many times. In recent years its not good! No quality standards in the recent years for sure!

I go to Tirupati once every year. I don't know whether there is animal fat in the laddu or not, but the quality of laddu and standards of Tirupati temple have fallen drastically in the previous 5 years. Roads, rooms, bathing facilities, worship, prasadam etc. 😢

1. You did not mentioned much about the contract of ghee.
2. If Naidu wants to use it as a political agenda he would not have mentioned first in the party meeting. Instead he would have mentioned first in a public meeting.
3. Quality of prashad has been declined over the last 3 years. This you can verify by checking with other state devotees ( if you feel there will be baised survey by people of their state).
4. You have not mentioned how long Nandini ghee is supplied and why it has been changed and how low private entity can supply and what will be their profits.
5. Please check the news from last 3 years about Tirupati about the scams mentioned by TDP and Janasena and BJP over the last 3 years scams done by YSRCP.
6. Why don’t discuss about the Darshan tickets and room tickets sold in black market during their YSRCP regime. They are not thousands of tickets imagine they are in lakhs.. sold in black market.

Well the only point highlighted is whether there was alleged animal fat present in laddus or not. And it's clear it is not. Now that national media has caught that it's a false propaganda spreading, a new aligation needs to come into picture which is the quality of laddu. I agree it has has definitely gone down considerably in past many years but please note, it's not in confined to last 3 years. Yet if andh bhakts want to put false aligations, I think a CBI enquiry could shed more light on it which would be under direct supervision of supreme court bench and not a SIT which is lead by state IG that works under the HM of AP

Before they were caught in July, that ghee was being used for making laddus in prior months and since no one pointed out , the adulterated ghee was being used for making laddus. Its non-sensical to say that the tankers were caught and hence no issue.

Me and my relatives families were going to Tirumala every year since almost my childhood. And my parents were keep saying since last 15 years that the Ladoo size has been reduced a little and the taste also not as before. But a few foolish people connected to the cheap politics and started playing it at their range. It’s really a foolishness. But there are so many factors to consider if something really happened in TTD. Really it’s not blaming the previous govt, literally it’s blaming TTD and their employees who are also the devotees.
I am from Andhra, and I saw it with my own eyes. Christian missionaries went on full-fledged conversions to small villages as the primary target; conversions happened to hate Hindus and to make people feel inferior following Hindu traditions. Politics has also played its role in vote bank politics, with people who used Christian conversions as their growing vote bank.

This seems very biased news coverage. You didn’t try to know the issue. First you should talk about changing ghee contract that was happened in previous government tenure. They cancelled existing ghee contract with the supplier who is supplying ghee from 50 years to the temple and gave it to a supplier who quoted very less price. You said temple rejected the ghee after quality check, there is no lab in Tirupati which can check ghee quality. First know the truths around the incident well and then report. I think the first time the anchor got the context wrong.. There is no quality control test capabilities at TTD. The EO himself told this in the press conference and mentioned that they had doubts on the ghee procured because of the rate quoted at 320 per kg/ltr which everyone knows that it is impossible to get pure ghee at this rate even in wholesale market. On this doubt they sent the sample for testing in July. The reports are public now. The allegation is that such sample test was never done before, TTD have told that since there was no quality control in TTD done before, there is a likely chance that such ghee likely containing animal fat might have been used . I guess the translators should have explained the context in a better way to Palki Maam. Since they are allegations the govt themselves are further enquiring it. The Govt and TTD were telling in Telugu that Jagan Reddy, previoud TTD EO and Chairman were careless in not putting a check on quality control. Nobody is saying that they have done it knowingly but their carelessness might have defiled it.
Of course the diary has denied it and told that they have their own lab reports which is a matter of investigation.

Palki, i had utmost respect for your news.. Even shifted from WION to first post because of you. But on this tirupati laddu issue, you have been misled totally. The ghee tested came as adulterer this time because it was never tested before and same ghee was being supplied since so many months in the past by the same supplier. And yes adultered ghee was used for making laddus in previous govt because they have awarded contract to middle man at cheaper price of 320 Ra per kilo. Where in the world u r getting pure cow ghee at this cost? I wish you had done some back ground check before blatantly declaring that laddu’s was not adulterated in previous govt with animal fat. Shame shame and utter shame on this article by first post.. Or we can’t rule out the possibility that First post has been sold themselves to corrupted money of Jagan reddy. Shame..

Imagine if Temples are made private, then 3Lakh crores or money is given to some individuals, even with govt monitoring there is corruption, If its private then there wont be any end. Only normal Tests are done at Tirupati , the test which confirmed adulteration with animal fats is especially done to confirm adulteration with animal fat , all these days normal lab Tests were done.

Nandini Ghee's contract was canceled after COVID-19 in 2020. Nandini Ghee had been supplying ghee for many decades. After reverse tendering, A.R. Ghee Company was chosen as the new supplier. A.R. Ghee was offered at a much cheaper price. There was also a separate ghee that cost ₹1600/kg for naivedya laddu, which was offered to Lord Venkateshwara himself. This ghee was very pure. (Why this change when A.R. Ghee is so pure?) This ghee was then given to VVIPs, while A.R. Ghee was used for laddus given to the general public. Please do your research properly. TTD does not have a lab to test the quality of the ghee, and it is difficult to test the ghee every time. So, it is very evident that such ghee was used. Please do thorough research.

The sales figure of laddu doesn't add up. 500 crores from 3 lakh ladoos.
Either the total amount is wrong or ladoos are sold in crores and not in lakhs.
