I am very sad for Lebanon. I was in Beirut 10 years ago and did not think that things would turn for the worse in a near future. I really hope the best for this country 💜🇱🇧
I have been to Lebanon 3 times over the past 2 years It’s a bitter sweet experience Such a waste of a beautiful country and amazing people The sorrow on the faces of the people is absolutely heartbreaking I was so traumatised after the first trip I would just lock myself up for days at home. Only thing one can do is try help the needy but it’s never enough . They need to so much help . 😢
"We did not choose how to live, but at least let us decide how to die. It's not fair they should decide both for us. Not fair " AJ Brilliant documentary!!
I was in Lebanon for work, it's vey beautiful country, every frame of it is beautiful, I had somewhat good time there specially in Beirut, but complex politics ruined it, at many places I visited were risky
Honestly…didn’t think I’d ever say this…AJ you have impressed me with this story. I didn’t think you would ever depict something this critical of a Mideast regime other than your go to. I actually remember when all this was happening including the fertilizer explosion and thought the people were going to get their country back.
One lesson from the Lebanese financial crisis is that a dollar on deposit at a local bank in an unstable country is not very safe. Better to convert your dollars to physical currency or dollar based stablecoins (eg tether / usdc) and hold them that way - you are not being compensated to take the risk of keeping dollar deposits at local banks.
I kind of wish you added a couple of lines about the people shown in the documentary who left the country. Like where are they now, are they still away (they are if they know what's good for them), has anyone come back etc. I really enjoyed it though, good job!
We the students of Bangladesh are badly in need of your help.😭 The dictator Sheikh Hasina is killing people randomly and putting peoples into jail. Help us,,
A clear message from Israel: we have no dispute over land with Lebanon, we respect the Lebanese people and want peace. However, we understand the complicated situation that Iran and Hezbollah have put the Lebanese people into, most of whom seek peace.
@@JackFieldBand When international organizations that call for peace and protection of human rights for all people in the world fails the palestinians not just in this ongoing genocide but since occupation, someone has to stand with them. There are children being torn apart right this moment, and these organisation and countries arming isreal could have stopped it months ago. But since they kept silent, someone will have to do their job for them. Lebanon never initiated an attack on isreal, until they had to as a solidarity with palestine. But you can definitely educate yourself on the countless times isreal has broken laws and initiated attacks on lebanon, not to mention there are still lebanese lands currently occupied by isreal. Isreal decided there should never be peace years ago, not just in lebanon, but in palestine too.

You know, you don't have to like islam but blaming it for everything is seriously stupid. I swear from all this 47min documentary all you had to say is 'islam happened'. It baffles me how you can blame the whole crumbling situation in Lebanon on islam when you haven't lived your entirety of your life there. The documentary didn't even mention religion but you had to throw out hateful comments. You didn't even argue why islam is the cause of it. That's how ridiculous your comment is.
@@pascualromero8245 islam did not exist in Lebanon for 1000s years🙄. In 70s Lebanon as I said was predominantly Christian, up to 80% of it's population was Christian.
