I'd love to see some companies remake the PS1 era JRPGs. Like don't remake them and modernize them. Redo the graphics, give us better load times and some maybe few minor modern improvements. And that's it. LoD is one that I would gladly pay to get again with better visuals.
@@paiprguy So basically....bluepoint games who worked on shadow of the colossus, demons souls remake, hinted to be working on metal gear solid 1 remake, and they hinted that they're interested in legend of dragoon aswell.
If I'm honest, it kinda would need a remake The translation was kind of atrocious It also kinda felt like they rushed the story a little in Disk 4, and just did everything they could to patch all the unresolved plot holes on the Moon Also, I feel like the battle system could use some improvements, mainly giving the player access to all of their Additions in battle, instead of just one, and removing the MP system, instead having each spell consume Spirit bars. And maybe refresh the menus a little, the equipment menu was kind of a mess.

Press select once more and you're playing the OG game again. Sure you could miss out on various aspects of the ARPG version's story or world etc by switching too often/for too long. But that would just add to the replayability. Now how would we fit essentially 3 games into this 1 package? Why not just make the modern ARPG version? Why not just the HD remastered version? Well.... what we'll do is release this game on 4 discs, with the same original disc art, that end in the same spots as the originals. That'll hit the nostalgia factor right on the nail. And with such quality content we could sell it for an even $100US. This is the only way to not fuck it up for the fans (old or new), and still get Sony's approval/prevent their corporate meddling.

Hey look closely at 3:20. There are other sprites being reused that you missed. Having the best additions outmatch the Dragoon transformation is kind of counter-productive. Still though this game was so good from beginning to end and would love a remake or prequel or sequel. Oh heck all three please.
it's true, but by the time you get the most powerful addition it's the games reward for you performing those additions all 80 times, which takes almost the whole game to get those final additions to 80, which appropriately and very well calculatedly makes you perfectly prepared to kick the final bosses ass, but those additions are challenging to pull off and you're natural human abilitys seem to transcend even that of dragons, or dragoons, so you get to use items and still do more damage, not that it's needed, i actually beat the game the first time with only using the first addition because i didn't care for or understand the addition system, as i skipped the tutorial, which probably made the game much, much harder at times
I loved this game. It actually holds up well for the test of time even graphically for the time it came out. An Earth shaker of an RPG for anybody that discovers it. 3 best of all time for me are Chrono Trigger, Valkyrie Profile, and The Legend of Dragoon.
If I remember correctly I believe a large portion if not all the development staff would actually move on to make Shadow Hearts. And they were on record for saying gameplay wise it's a "sequel" to LoD.
Here's a good fact: (PAL gamer here) Some game copys seemed to have a glitch/error which prevented you from progressing further. But the glitch only occured in 3 boss fights - and only if you transformed into dragoon form. The solution was easy, if you had a og PS1 you just opened the lid (with the eject button) and closed it back, then the game continued. The problem became 'awesome' (...because challenging) if you only had a PS2 ! The trick didn't work anymore since it restarts your console, once you hit the eject button. So your only way to progress was to beat all the 3 (hardest) boss fights in human form without transforming! This was a lot of fun and really challenging. That's why i keep my glitchy version of the game, and don't keep looking for a fixed, later release ;-) A really memorable game. Great memories.

Sorry to be the necromancer commenting a year after, but I have something you might find interesting for Rose's demon gate. honestly wish this was on steam so we could have upscaling mods it be dope to have the upscaled textures, players and npcs i miss this game i beat it so many times when i was a kid
The idea of a sequel brings me joy but I think the game is a masterpiece in its own right. It does need a remaster on current gen tho the graphics looking at it now are aweful lol except the cutscenes those were mindblowing back in the day.
My favorite JRPG of all time. Great video, about half of this stuff was new to me! I still hope that someday, somehow, we'll get our Dragoon sequel. Or prequel. Or remake. I'll take any of the 3.
My catalogue of games (most of them already completed) makes me cry every time. This game is no diferent, just to remember the awesome games of my youth... no DLC, no pay to win....
One thing the video missed is the final boss music is bugged. Each time you push him to another phase it's supposed to go to the next part of the track(like Dancing Mad in FF6). Unfortunately it just loops the first phase's music for the entire battle. I don't know if the full non-bugged version exists somewhere.
Shuhei Yoshida stepped down as sony interactive president last year im guessing along with the hope of a legend of dragoon remake maybe Tetsuya Nomura might take the mantle if were lucky after they've finished with final fantasy
A masterpiece... one of my favorite games of all time... a good remake would be nice... but leave it the way it is, just new graphics and fix some of the problems or mistakes... oh and plz don't make it easy to beat, cuz nowadays that's what they make with the remakes make them very easy, and an easy jrpg is the worst...😁
When talking about the warriors of furni you missed touching on the fact that in addition to the sprites from the tournament and drake. Greham was there as well.

Obviously they censored for the western release, but while the red IS blood, its not from where you may think. The original idea was that Rose stabs herself to open the gate, they just couldnt fully put the scene in.
I want remake then a sequel.
honestly wish this was on steam so we could have upscaling mods it be dope to have the upscaled textures, players and npcs i miss this game i beat it so many times when i was a kid
Love this game to no end! 😎
It's not bugged. You have the wrong idea because the official soundtrack lists those tracks and they play in full during the actual game.
So glad I can play this game again. Found a PSP Go for 5$ at a yard sale. lol LoD was one of the first things to go on it. lol
This and Dragon's Dogma really need a sequel
I hope someday Sony will surprise me with Tlod 2
Great video!!
I'm still not over Lavitz
Shuhei Yoshida stepped down as sony interactive president last year im guessing along with the hope of a legend of dragoon remake maybe Tetsuya Nomura might take the mantle if were lucky after they've finished with final fantasy
A masterpiece... one of my favorite games of all time... a good remake would be nice... but leave it the way it is, just new graphics and fix some of the problems or mistakes... oh and plz don't make it easy to beat, cuz nowadays that's what they make with the remakes make them very easy, and an easy jrpg is the worst...😁
So right about the dragon campaign such great lore virages dragons dragoons and wingles
Some of the gameplay scenes you showed look pretty cleaned up. Was this ever released on any other port besides the PS1?
It was ported to the ps3
Started playing this again recently
Sweet love this game
BEST RPG GAMER EVER
Thumbs up man. Miss that game
Imma play it for once now. I've only luckily acquired a copy recently.
When talking about the warriors of furni you missed touching on the fact that in addition to the sprites from the tournament and drake. Greham was there as well.
Dart would have been the most obscure "Who the fuck is that?" character in PS All Stars. I find that DLC hard to believe.
I love so much, cannot find same feeling withis anymore. Verry sad now.
We need this game in PS4 for play store...if they dont give us a remake, give us the same game for PS4
or just use a freakin emulator dude, likely you have a device that can use a ps1 emulator by now, it takes research time to set it up with what device you're using though, most pc's/desktops will do, but if it lag's at all you're screwed
They should do a prequel. I want to see how the battle was like. It would look epic with the graphics that we have these days.
Cool fact, there are actually shana/miranda additions in the game data.
Would love a remaster or a part 2 hell even a prequel
my VERY FIRST RPG i remember playing on the Playstation \m/
It'll be pretty awesome to see a new game or remaster should it ever happen - but I do hope that they include the PC in that should it happen.
3:56 That we can beat whomever if we trust in our friends music
Need this to be ported to PS4 and Xbox
i'm gonna need a source for the symphonia reference, because unless it was confirmed elsewhere, that stroy could have been about several other games (or even just been completely original)
I would pay literally a thousand dollars for a remake, sequel or prequel. If it ever does get released, I'll buy it for $60 and give $940 to the first person that tries to call my bluff.
Bring it back pleaseeee
I played this one back in the day. Didn't remember the evil menstruation attack, though
I played this one till my thumbs bled. Great video!
I'm still playing this game ❤
