I love the minor crises prompts 😂 Shattered bulbs are no joke! On the fallen angel: we used to have a star made of some kind of clay or dough, that my great aunt had made and sent us from the US. It wasn’t very pretty, it was too small and thick and painted green and red, but it was from her and it always made us smile when we were decorating the tree. I don’t think I ever met her, but it was a very special thing. The problem was it was kept in a box of Christmas decorations, as you do, and we kept it in the basement, where it sometimes got a bit damp… so some years, the star had sort of swelled from the damp, and was cold and yucky and we all laughed at it, but up it went, sitting on top of the tree like a green lump from our great aunt 😊
Oh Ellen! I love this story of your precious "green lump" from your great aunt from the US! How precious! I think I have a few ornaments like that as well that have a special place on the tree not because of their physical beauty but because of their precious, sentimental value. My favorite ornaments are the ones that have a story behind them. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.
That hurricane is absolutely wild in Their Eyes Were Watching God! I love these prompts and your selections. Real candles on the tree!? That sounds rather Victorian! Your big Christmas anthology looks wonderful. Great tag!
Lovely, fun video, Pat! 'To Kill a Mockingbird' remains an all-time favorite for me. 😊 Oh, I just borrowed that 'Big Book of Christmas Mysteries' from the library to read this month. Love the cover! Short story mysteries, along with Victorian Ghost stories (reading 'The Phantom Coach' collection), sound perfect for the holiday season! 🎄🎄🎄
Loved your answers, Pat. Oh, Boo Radley! I am inspired to reread To Kill A Mockingbird. Such a great cover on that Big Book of Christmas Mysteries. Hope your holiday season is lovely. 🎄🎉
To Kill A Mockingbird was one of my favorite Book and Movie..Enjoy. Lord of the flles is also great to. Good choices. No swearing in either so gors to show we dont need it to make a great book... Take care Happy Holiday
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those rare examples where I feel like the book and the movie are equally excellent. The novel was a major factor in my wanting to study literature and become a teacher. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
“Boo was our neighbor. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a pair of good-luck pennies, and our lives.” I keep this quote in a little frame on my bookshelf. Harper Lee gives us a whole world in those two sentences. Loving the holiday-themed prompts. As ever, great responses, Pat. 🎄😊
I love your answers for this tag so much! As soon as you showed To Kill a Mockingbird, I knew which character you were going to choose. I love it. Les Miserables . . . yes. Such an amazing book. Thank you so much for tagging me. I can't wait to choose my answers and record my video.
Loved this tag Pat. Your answers are fabulous and it’s a really fun tag. Look forward to doing this one. Lord of the Flies is my nemesis. Never been able to finish it. Have no idea why 😊
Thanks, Debs. You're not alone with not loving Lord of the Flies. I'm curious about you're not being able to finish it, though. Is it taught in the UK? It's still pretty standard fare in US schools.
What a great tag! I have to admit, I thought you were going to go for Julius Caesar as your Shakespeare play for the 2nd question, but I completely see how Macbeth works!
This is a fun one! I'm really going to have to think about my answers for this one. I really need to read Their Eyes Were Watching God. It's been on my list forever.
Hi Kelly. No pressure re: the tag. Their Eyes Were Watching God is a really beautiful book. Another one I used to love to teach....Hope you are doing well.
_Ooooooo,_ how I love MacDuff and the ending of MacBeth! I have some ideas for some good books for this one! Thanks for tagging me, Pat. 😊 Appreciated 🎉
Thank you for this lovely video and all the best wishes for a lovely Christmas season, dear Pat!🎄😊 I really disliked Lord of the Flies as a child but maybe I should give it another chance at some point...
Thank you for watching. I hope you’ll consider yourself tagged too if you’d like to do it. Lord of the Flies is a very dark book, for sure. I did enjoy teaching it as there are so many things to talk about in it. But it’s certainly not an uplifting story. I hope you’re doing well!
