I have seen an art teacher who drew free hand portraits with pencil measurements with so much ease & so accurately. So I guess it is only practice & to train your eye. He used to say that other techniques like the grid method etc, doesn’t show your skill in any way. So if we practice regularly we can achieve exactly the same likeness to the original pic. So freehand is the best method if you wish to improve your drawing skills. Got a lot of inputs from this tutorial! Thanks 👍
Exactly...the likeliness can be achieved...but the 100% accuracy cannot
Yes I mostly do relative measurements and observations of facial features through my eyes.This really improved my free hand drawing.This improve the coordination between eyes,hands and brain..it helps

You are absolutely right but in some cases it doesn't work, I am a diehard fan of srk so i can draw face of him without any grid or any reference lines it's already set in my mind his face.. But you said absolutely right for those who copy directly and try to get results doesn't work in long term of career.
