I, for one, quite like this mix. I literally just converted a large section of my network to IPv6 while listening to this particular mix and found myself moving to the beat many times. Very enjoyable, keep it up.

The art could have been me at 17. I used to dress in a ninja suit and run all over town after midnight, climbing the wall of city hall, watching the cop cars pass from behind a tree from the roof, practicing walking on a chain on a barrier at the park...magical days. And it's all useful training, really. Balance, stealth, knowing when to wait or when to go, where the next shadow is...I was a radical kid at the time, but it made me a more capable adult.

Why is it that basic retro synth tunes sound better and are more appealing than 98% of the shit out there today? just saying.

oversoul Damn so true. I go to the gym and roll my eyes at that stupid Despacito song and the My Heart is in Havana shit.
I miss the good old days when the medium grade mix was still considered worth the listener potential such as Black Eyed Peas - Meet me Halfway. Those were classical pop songs in my ears. They had arrangement and undertones, not words focused on a niche market of so-called teenagers. Those are just fake ones the mixes I can tell are never true masters of a culture or characteristic of a time period. They're just catchy tunes for the sake of appeal. It's nihilism and detachment from the world such that the attention span's incapable of making physical beings out of art.
I guess that's what modern art is, but I'll always be synth.

Imagine listen the same Despacito-like shit everywhere you go, that's Latinoamerica right now. Here you can be literally marginalized just for say that these "songs" are not what you into.

I do too, but I have realized that taste in music is like favorite color. There's no right color.
And personally, I hate the 'ducking' in this stuff. It sucks. (TO ME.)

@@akiramenai4973 I listen mostly to seven different sub-genres of metal, but synthwave is pretty relaxing. It's mostly down to preference and mood. But, seriously, some of the mainstream crap that gets released baffles me...why would anyone want to listen to that crap?

Why is it that in every Synthwave compilation you get 90% repetitive shit which sounds like a 14 y/o did on his pirated FL Studio, and maybe 1 or 2 actually good, creative, interesting tracks? Why is that? WHY?!

Thank you for your comment. I don't know if you are only referring to my mixes, but I'll try to answer your comment as if it's mainly about my compilations. While making videos I always try to use synthwave music that I've never used before, and that are not so popular. Of course I could include more popular artists in my mixes and maybe that would made them more 'interesting' but I think most of my viewers had already heard those tracks before, and that's why I'm trying to include less popular music so that every mix on my channel would feel unique even for a person that listens to retrowave regularly. You can find gems of this genre only if you're listening to music that you haven't heard before. That is the whole philosophy of this channel. It's sad that you didn't like this mix, but your comment definitely motivates me to create better compilations in the future and I'm really thankful for that. :)

Synthwave Gems You're an awesome person for taking my comment seriously, thank you. I was indeed referring to Synthwave compilations in general... I was wondering if generally Synthwave is a musically subpar genre by design or is it just littered by unfortunately untalented musicians. I assume the latter is true since there are exquisite examples of wonderful Synthwave musicians out there. Just, seemingly, very few of them. Keep up the sacred work buddy. And thanks again!

Many people criticize my oil paintings when on display. To the criticism, I say: Paint your own. Best way to get a good sound my man is to make it and post it for other people to shit on from ignorance. Your awesome becomes the focus of other's despair.

Synthwave Gems, you are one of the best compilers of electro out there. I for one like some gruel with my steak. Too mush music with SJW NWO propaganda out there telling you to live like a slave. This art, although as Creator's Remorse puts it, is made by 14y/o's by far is better than CIA thinktank Neuro-Linguistic crap. When you include many you push the art to new levels. Keep going.

Synthwave is definitely not a musically subpar genre imo, nor is it littered by untalented musicians. Its just not for you, first and foremost. While you perhaps seek beat variety and a wide range of instruments being used those would inherently fall into a different approach to music entirely. Synthwave is all about that synth, the beautiful simple at times almost ambient melody using classic electronic soundtrack focused or heavy rock and metal influences in arrangement and appeal. Its all about what you can achieve within these very deliberate limitations of sound. Now that's not to say the whole genre is really as you make it out to be.. I'm about to fall into the time honored tradition of saying that "you haven't heard the good stuff" so bear with me. Because in my experience as a fan of this genre (which you clearly are not) I've found TONS of different kinds of music. Many undoubtedly talented composing memorable vocal melodies and often greatly pleasing instrumental scores that are breathtakingly simple beauty when they are not the intricate pieces they also tend to be. Keep looking and if nothing out there satisfies you then its just not for you I'm afraid and that's totally fine :)!
