Literally we had quite a bit in common with this. Before the pandemic, my friend livy taught me my aerial, Backhadspring/stepout too, and my back pike/tuck. We teach each other with no experience at all and we still do amazing. my friends mom is a coach and she said I should be level 3 on floor if I did it. On the trampoline, she said a level 4/5/6. in between the three. Livy she said would be level 8. That made me really sad but I didn't mind it. Mental blocks like mine I gave up a year ago after covid cause she wasn't here to spot me. But I just had a friend with an airtrack and literally did it with her on grass. Now I am scared but I have a job and lots and bought myself my own airtrack and It will be here tomorrow! I will come back and edit tomorrow to say how I go! And btw: I love your videos!!!!
Hey Ava that’s amazing. Getting to train with the right people makes a huge difference. Sounds like you’re making great progress I’d love to see. I’ll take a peak if you posted anything yet. A pike tuck looks so scary that’s awesome you got that! Getting a back tuck is my goal! I’ve been landing them slowly on a tumble track but still have a huge mental block.
It would help to see an example of you doing it to better assess what’s going on. But it sounds like your brain might be in “protective mode” and purposely twisting your body so you can catch yourself easier. I was stuck in that habit for a while. What helped me was working on drills that helped guide my gaze in a straight line when jumping. Back walk overs also helped to guide myself in a straight line when going backwards. It’s hard to explain in words but next time I’m at the gym I can post quick drill tips. Good luck and thanks for watching!
@@AlexandriaPierreEtienne Yes if you post some drills and tips that would be great! My coach doesn’t really make me do any drills for back handsprings he just wants me to throw them and it’s not helping me get any better I don’t think.

Do you any tips to stop twisting to the side on your back handspring? I have the same problem! Btw your progression is amazing!
Did you correct it? I have the same issue and it’s really frustrating.
