Yes, this was 'Ok'. But John "Sean' Byrne was singing lead on this behind the keyboards. Unfortuantely, he was battling illnes at the time (liver cirrhosis), and passed 2 years after this gig....He was an innovator on 12-string. He made it sound like a 4-string ukulele, amazing. Also an imaginative song writer. Very under rated.
I'm an alum of Pioneer High School (read the info above) class of '69 - they played at our teen club dances. So did the Syndicate of Sound and the Chocolate Watchband, among other worthies. Fun stuff. The guitars the guys played then would be worth the budgets of small countries now...
I went to high school with the Count V. This is the original singer but was sick at this concert. He passed a couple of years later. Also, the original drummer passed about 15 years ago. The original singer was also the rhythm and could no longer play the guitar. The group has actually played with the existing three members and sound pretty darn good. I agree though, this was not a very good representation of the group and their sound!
This is OK, but without John Byrne (deceased) playing AWESOME rhythm guitar with his Danelectro 12 string AND singing lead, sorry, it's just not the same.
So that WAS a Dano? The one fuzzy video I found on YT doesn't show it too clearly but it looks, and certainly sounds, unique. Not the same without it and him.

Sighhhh....the great rhythm guitar that drove this song is sadly missing here. Ah well...if this is the original band, it's good seeing them onstage again. (I doubt if that's the original lead singer, though, right?)
I am from Willow Glen and this band was from cross rival high school. But we loved this song cause it swings.
one of my fav songs

My brother went to Pioneer High as well with the count five. Butch lived down the street from us. Watched them play in the garage many times as a kid!

Actually not bad, I liked it.

He was game. Good for him.

I agree with you. ALL parts sound great, but IMO the rhythm guitar part in the original MADE this song.
I KNOW KEN'S COUSIN MARC.......
PIONEER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS CREATE BAND.
What key harmonica is this?
If I remember right the song was done in G, so that would mean a C harp.
Actually, now that I think about it the song was actually in Gb (i.e. tuned down a half-step), so that would mean a B harp.

Absolutely correct 👍
When, you're on Geritol and Depends, I thinks its time to hang it up. I love these guys, pero, estan muy tabaquiados!
Not good, I think they've lost it
This is terrible - time to either hang it up, or get some better musicians.
Some reverb on the harp would really help a lot!
