The following files are duplicated as db files and may be used as primary or
alternate nameservice files using the nss_db library.
1) /etc/passwd
2) /etc/group
3) /etc/shadow
4) /etc/services
5) /etc/protocols
6) /etc/rpc

I see these entry of sudoers and sss in my /etc/nsswitch.conf file. Can you please explain little bit on sss and sudoers: files sss ?
passwd: files sss ldap
shadow: files sss ldap
group: files sss ldap
sudoers: files sss
Looks like it's been a while unanswered but basically the lookup rule is configured so sudo first looks thru the standard sudoers file then SSSD. System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) is just a system service to access remote directories and authentication mechanisms. If it's running you should see the sssd service running in the background. Typically sssd connects to a remote service such as an LDAP directory, an Identity Management (IdM) or Active Directory (AD) domain, or a Kerberos realm.The same goes for passwd, shadow, group it will first use files, then sssd, and lastly ldap.
