Damn… my mom was terrified of the original film when it first came out. It never really creeped me out but she passed one year ago on the 14th, so I got a watch these for her.
i know some people won't agree but the MAJORITY will. i love what chris suggested that the main couple couple actually know the strangers... i think it would be 10x better if the strangers faces were revealed to them too AND were NOT revealed to us. we just see their reactions and distress to seeing who they know doing this to them, could be family, friend, coworkers, we wouldn't know

Maybe it’s a family of killers. The killers from Strangers 2008 were the “parents.” The ones in the new trilogy will be the KIDS of the killers from STRANGERS 2008? It could be revealed when the “killers” come home, their parents will be home waiting with the masks: “Did you do it (kill them).”

I love the strangers. By far, my fav horror movie. I'm a little nervous after seeing this video now. I don't like that they think there needs to be a reason for why they're doing it. That's what made the first one so scary. The most iconic line, "because you were home". They didn't need a reason. They just felt like doing it. But I'll wait and see the direction it goes. While I'm excited and undoubtedly going to watch the trilogies, unfortunately, with horror movies especially, studios forget less is more. Do we really need an exploration into the strangers lore as to why they're doing it? No. I think everyone can agree there's two sentences in the original that made it a great horror movie and satisfied the audience: "Why are you doing this to us?" "Because you were home" That's it. That's all the lore you need.
What if these three are the very first killers. Young-ish. The two protagonists magane to kill the one using the "blonde girl" mask. Then they kill the boyfriend, the main girl survives. But She is traumatized, being a victim but also killing. Then she becomes the "original" blonde girl wearing the mask, for which we then learn how these kind ofpeople become who they are. Exploring this more in depth. Just like the trilogy description says. Next movie, since she is traumatized, and becomes crazy, develops a bond with them, joins them being little older, killer guy starts wearing suit somewhere doing this time.
I agree on the suit being more unsettling. I too prefer the suit for similar reasons. I mean.. the jacket look is just how I already picture killers to dress. Trying to be a normal guy yet really a murderer. Gives me Sam & Dean Supernatural vibes, but the suit and tie is more unique. & I'd be more nervous in real life of the suit like they means business.
normally i’m super duper excited when my favorite horror franchises are brought back but with this one i’m skeptical for a few reasons… like it’s explained the next two movies will explore the trauma of the experience so obviously… madelaine’s character has to survive, so that’s an obvious spoiler… why would i wanna sit through a film knowing i don’t have to fear for the character? but then to explore the reason(s) behind why the strangers are doing what they’re doing.. doesn’t sit with me because i believe NOT knowing why they are doing it or if they simply did it “because you were home.” is good enough for me. it’s the mystery that makes them so terrifying… it makes it feel like it can be anyone & it can happen to anyone. in my honest opinion the marketing is not smart. to announce it’s a trilogy that explores the main character after the first chapter doesn’t make senseeeee, they should have kept the other two films a secret. anyways… i hope they can deliver with this trilogy cos i love the strangers & it’s franchise.

So is this a prequel or a Sequel or a Remake??? Cause if it is a remake then sure that makes sense. But is it a remake that is set in the same world or like a completely fresh universe. Kinda like The Thing Remake that was made a while ago that turned out to be a Prequel too. If it is a Sequel then I'm assuming there are new people who have joined them??? And if it is a prequel i guess that's cool too.
I think the reason why they changed the outfit was to make it fit better with a burglar aspect, one of the inspiration was someone going around knocking on door to see if anyone’s home, maybe the trilogy will be a build up to them getting their infamous outfits
I think with the reboot of The Strangers they want to separate the new version from The OG just to make it their on. Who knows these strangers might be more creepier than the original ones.
On a channel on TH-cam they have a show where its a whole community of killers each is different families they live in same community but they go off separately and have fun killing people. Watching that remind me of the strangers and I was like maybe that's the backstory of the strangers its not just them there's others out there with similar masks doing similar stuff lol.

I’m not really a fan of these pre prepared trilogies… we just watched the exorcist flop and I have no idea how they will get two more films out of that. unfortunately I feel like this might too, it feels like they are going to undercut some story elements just to prolong their 3 movie plan.

I really hope this movie can live up to the tension and suspense of the original, because that sequel was just a repeat of the original without any of the suspense and just turned the villains into totally generic slasher villains.
Dude this is kind of ridiculous they went for the look of an only fans, Liv Tyler, so we have to rewatch the same movie. Instead of picking up after that movie. That movie was perfect leaving us questioning, yes.. but don’t need a remake.
The fact that they shot three movies in secret and they are just dropping them on us like this tells me that likely this is going to be garbage straight to dvd quality. Could be wrong considering the quality of X and Pearl but I just doubt it honestly.

To me, it's worrisome that they're going to explore the identity of The Strangers. That displays a fundamental misunderstanding of what made the original movie work. You don't know their motive and you don't know who they are. That's why the blonde hair is scary. She doesn't care if you see her hair, you're not getting out of this alive to identify her anyway. I understand you can't make a franchise off of killers with no motive, so maybe this just shouldn't have been a franchise.
They are doing what every modern studio is doing nowadays, pulling out an old ip blowing the dust off and saying hmmm how can we wipe our ass with this. Basically saying how can we milk this for all it’s got and make the most money with as little effort? Aka writing a basic ass story that explains everything because they think we’re actual idiots, the acting doesn’t look good, the atmosphere doesn’t look tense, and the characters look as bland as white peoples dinner. Mock my words this will be the exorcist believer mashed with the fear street trilogy.

To me that’s just not scary, it really sucks because if they would have made the movie actually scary instead of just loud it would be great
yeah the exploration aspect is trash. the whole gimmick of the strangers is they’re faceless psychopaths who do what they do for no deep psychological reason, just because they want to. and yeah the outfits are boring they look like the winchesters. the suit on the guy looked much cooler, like he was dressing up for the special occasion of murdering people. I’ll go see it but I don’t expect much
I really don’t like the outfits. They suck. This is just a clean version of Jason’s clothes in Freddy vs Jason. It’s the exact same thing killers wear in most slashers witching the last 10-15 years. The clothes in the original are perfect. The mother has this 50s style clothing wich matches with her mask. The father wears a suit fitting the role of a classic father, then the daughter has a similar, although slightly less 50s style mask taking her looks from her mother, but being younger wears more modern clothes. They come together to make this beautifully terrifying nuclear family.
Honestly it’s just weird how they filmed all three already and will release all 3 in one year. Already marketing the entire trilogy.. just seems cheap and cash-grabby for some reason.

Chris they did tell us the release plan. The first one will be released, 2-3 months later the 2nd, then 2-3 months after that the 3rd.
