man i went camping on shrooms one weekend and my friend started playing this stuff from his mp3 and i was getting so into it, ever since then this music makes me feel good inside when i listen to it
I had the opportunity to witness a drum group live and up close and personal. When they started playing, instant goosebumps all over my body. It was overwhelmingly awesome.
As someone who has Puerto Rican heritage which is tribal at it's core, seeing stuff like this makes my blood race. It makes me wanna stand on a mountain and pound my chest and let out a war cry. I love seeing the people keeping the old traditions. It makes me sad that I didn't have stronger Native American herritage in my family, otherwise I might've grown up doing stuff like this. Ever since I was a little kid, all I ever wanted was to sit in a drum circle and beat the drum and chant at the top of my lungs. I mean what could be cooler than that?
This is America at its purist! When the voice of the people was so loud that your ears would ring and your soul would fly. Drum circles are so powerful. Tsa la gi! Respect to my fellow native peoples!
One of the coolest things I've ever seen, in terms of human collaboration, focus, dedication, alignment, intention, giving... This sounds like it is a chant unchanged since forever, and these men are honoring us by honoring the tradition. And it makes me think that there once was a time that this chant was played for the first time, ever, and what era that possibly could have been. And at that time, it all came from just one person's idea way back when, and here we are in modern times holding it down. I think this is marvelous.
To prepare for healing, native healers may go for a day or more without food, sleep, and even water. They may also spend extended time in solitude, contemplation, and prayer, and subject themselves to extremes of temperature in cold streams or hot sweat lodges. Techniques for inducing altered states of consciousness include intense rhythmic stimulation such as chanting, singing, dancing and drumming; I haven't had food or slept in 2 days, due to my medication for studying, and I feel like this drumming is the most incredible sound I've ever heard
The American Indian culture is a VERY RARE SIGHT TO HEAR. Even the beating of the drums can make your heart feel like the beating drum even when they sing
this is so sweeet. i can almost sing like they can.if my voice could go just a little bit higher. then i would sound like them. im native i love singing and dancing. and i show MY native pride!
man...the best drum music always happens at pow wows and competitions....wish they could get studio quality rrecordings out in the field ...cause its so amazing, but the mic on the recording device doesnt do it justice....probably hard to recreate the energy in a studio too. thanks for sharing!
The best way to learn is by going to a pow wow, offer a person tobacco for your questions. If they don't accept the tobacco ask someone else. Someone will give you answers. You need to respect our people by the tobacco. Then they will truly know that you are sincere and want to learn.
@Strogenforcer im so glad im native cuz when you sing for a dope crew like this you make about $4000 in just 3 days having fun and doing whatever the hell you want... sometimes more depends..
