      And I would think you would feel safer because it offers more stability than an average two-wheel bike. I wish my hybrid bike had a lounge seat on it. 🤗 Thanks for the comment!

    I loved riding bikes my whole life. A accident injured my shoulder permanently which made is painful to ride a bicycle. Bought a Recumbent trike and it was the best thing I ever did. I tell everyone who asks (which are a lot of people) it is the funnest bike I have ever rode, it's the most comfortable bike I have ever rode and it is the fastest bike I have ever rode! Good informative video by the way.

    I like the Shimano clip pedals I think mine are 565’s big pedal flat on one side clip on other, very versatile and reasonable in price.

    I've had my Catrike Max a week now and am getting my groin muscles and knees used to the different position from an upright bicycle. I think I'm going to like it a lot, once my body has made the adjustment.

    I like tadpole tricycles, but my main downside is the price tag. Tricycles are very expensive and are frowned upon in car-centric cities.

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, they are pricey, but I do know some people that they have changed their lives by owning one. And all bicyclists in my opinion don't get a lot of respect in car-centric cities. Let's hope we cyclists can change that one day.😃

    Very true i have recumbent bike but its not trike i have 1 foot print recumbent bike and hills become sort of hard to done since you simpli either have to force push or spin and stability is big isue so you have to keep moving and dont stop for anything.

      I have an Azub recumbent and live in Colorado Springs. Due to the steep hills here I added an electric assist motor. Makes everything manageable.

    I have an hpv gekko 26 and love it but now I want to tour on it cross country...but my problem is getting my trike from my home in LA to Seattle or astoria to do the pacific coast route or the transamerica route. They are more difficult to box up to fly with and they arent allowed on amtrak due to weighing more then 50lbs with the box. Wish there was a way to tour with it because now I'm having to go back to a 2 wheel touring bike so I can easily fly or take amtrak with my bike.

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a shame. Transporting your recumbent trike in any form is an issue. You don't have many choices. Trike ramp, vehicle trailer, folding trike, or just starting off from LA. I wonder if you had a folding trike could you bring that on the airplane? I hope you can figure it out. Let us know.

      @@RideandShineBicycling based on Sylvia Halperns travels before going e-assist she was able to just roll her folding Scorpion trike wrapped up in bubble wrap to airline checkin and say its her mobility device and they took it as is. I may try that since my sleep apnea is covered by the ADA law as a disability.

    haha made me laugh when he said upright cyclists 'cheat' when they stand to go uphiil. its sort of true. i've been saying that for years. i find my catrike 700 climbs well. its about the same as an upright cyclist who doesn't resort to cheating and stays in the saddle. its maybe a bit better due to being able to push on the seat. its a heavy bike, but i think being about to get more power down (about half way between sitting and standing on an upright bike) counteracts the trikes weight. in my experience, i can keep pace uphill with roadies og my fitness level who dont stand. but they can definitely kick my ass by cheating, i mean standing.

    Won't it be better to go for full velomobile than just usual recumbent trike, given that the fairings would massively improve the aerodynamic efficiency? Or there's a lot of price difference between the two?

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Velomobile! That is an interesting thought, being considered as a bicycle and is permitted wherever trikes, bikes and, e-bikes can ride such as bike lanes, shared paths, and city roads. We just don't see them being used where we live. And we haven't encountered a bike shop that sells them in our area, so we really don't know much about them. Thanks for the comment.

  • @TheWayne660

    Vehicle drivers have to move over farther to see the trike since it sets so low is my opinion.

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We agree with you. Tim (Vienna Bikes) did mention that when cars do see a trike riding on the road they do tend to move over more than a regular bike. Possible they just don't know what they are looking at? Thanks for your comment.

    I don't understand the comment about using your weight to help pedal. Even at my age of 75, with my back against something, my legs can push a helluva lot more than just my weight. I might add that I have never ridden a recumbent

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tim was talking about a regular bike that you can throw your weight into helping you pedal up a hill, that is not the case with a trike.
