I have never traded a day in my life before. But after watching your video, I am heavily considering learning the trade (no pun intended). I remember the feeling of starting from the bottom in Web Development and it will be the same for this. But I am dedicated and motivated to put in the time and research , and start with the simulator. Meanwhile MLGO went up to $14+ right now from $4.80 in premarket and halted. I only traded in premarket and right after opening bell. Thank you always Ross, slowly increasing my stock size this week.
Be careful with that one most of us lost money in that stock

I never bothered with sim trading, simply because it wasn't a true representation of the live market. The information may be the same, but the charts and stock can move and behave different depending on your broker. I also knew a guy who traded sim for 6 months, always won, made amazing gains, but then funded an account with $32k and lost it all over the next year. I highly suggest to live trade with no more than $250 account. That's more than enough to trade and build metrics off of. If you can do that, then you can size up.

Small wins are still wins. I'm in the same boat and sometimes struggle with watching a stock take off for the rest of the day after exiting for a small profit. Profit is profit though.
@@jacobrudolph3366 I timed the exit perfectly today on the REVB’s small squeeze at the open but I have that struggle too most days. But yes. Profit is profit and we’re learning… we’ll get there 👍🏽

This is the video I needed to watch. I tried trading a few years ago, lost $1000 and quit. I didn't have a strategy, I didn't really know what I was doing, I was just gambling. It was a terribly hard lesson to learn. I am now in the process of building an account balance, but while that is happening I will be trading paper money until I get the strategy and discipline down. I will keep it simple, keep it small, and log my trades. I made sure my account is set to a cash account as well. Here's to a better future.
I'm starting small, trading with $25 in one account and $120 in the other. I have one day trading/swing trading strategy I'm using now. The thing I learned from my last trade is that I won't always reach my profit target, so I may have to take the profit I get and exit the trade. I had both accounts open, so If the stock moves back up I could have always gotten back in on the other account

Do smaller share ...ross is a genius because u still get experience and can easily replace the money lost and if you hit a 200 percentage move you'll be happy
Thank you for being so upfront with your experience and free advice. I have been watching your videos for a few months now and have just taken my first step into what I'm calling semi-day trading. I started a simulated account with $600 this morning and took my first trade of 300 shares of GTHX at 8:41am (central time) and exited at 12:13pm for a $102.00 profit, ending my first day in the green! My end goal is to simulate trading for a few weeks to gauge how I can do. Then, hoping to take that method to a live account aiming to maintain a consistent profit of at least $50 per trade with 3 trades a week to grow my account to $1000. Once my account reaches $1000, I'll start taking profits out of the account to work on paying off my credit card debt. Once the credit cards debt is gone, the next goal will be to keep the profits in the account to grow it to the $25,000 point where I could then start to actually fully day trade.

This is encouraging to hear. I've been trading real money for two weeks and I haven't had a red day yet. When I hit my first draw down, I'll remember this video. It's just a pull back. It'll turn back up.

Actually beginners you should just start trading demo using some easy strategy and learn over time how the market does behave there is no strategy that really works it all comes down to your traders understanding of the market

I jumped in with GME and its been absolutely demoralizing. I bought high, put the very little money I had in it and it's been a journey of loss. I gave in to FOMO and the hype. This advice is excellent, wish I would have heard it before I backed myself into a red corner.

Was looking at MLGO. Had my trend lines added. Looked like it was getting busy. Had to go deal with a shift call. Came back to see it's up 110% 😅
Hit my trade limit on REVB , then only found out MLGO moving up nicely. Anyway couldn't overtrade, end the day with Green is more important.
220% now 🤦♂️😂 oh well. Not going to jump in after it's been stair stepping up all day. Hop in just to get flushed lol.
if u don't get in right away, don't chase. i traded like a dummy today. my first using a dashboard. bought at 7.29 to sell at 7.31 and then watched it go to like 8.30 lol
@michellemycelia True, chasing is a bad idea. I got my toes wet with NXL. Got in at 2.92. Tape and L2 activity seemed to stall. It's late in the day. Stopped out at 2.88 then watched it drop to ~2.30. MLGO is still at 288% up for the day, but I'm not desperate to make a trade. Take my -$4 P/L for the day and try tomorrow.

I trade from 1 a.m while still at work till 7:30 ish ... i will watch the market all day its ok... im ambitious and ill put anime in the corner of my screen or youtube plus i get to study the movements of every chart to maybe get an edge to learn pattern faster or just to observe how charts move and watch data from not only the stocks im trading but other stocks. And notice how different times effect stock because i watch it all.

As someone who lost everything during Covid and the sole provider for my family I started looking at day trading a few days ago. You’re videos have been excellent for educating myself and have given me a new found hope! I was just thinking about that the other day, using large positions in a simulator is literally entirely different and pointless. It might be a bit similar if you set a strict budget in the simulator. But it's still not the same thing.
Trade in a simulator whatever you plan to start trading with in real money once you've had success in the simulator consistently. Once you trade those small amounts successfully for a period of time on a sim, trade the same small amounts with real money. Once you've made money consistently trading those real money small amounts, consider moving up the amount you're trading a bit and then see if you're still successful.
Work your way up. Don't take undue risk. This is why most people lose money trading other than discipline, the wiling to work hard and then the people just gambling.

Thank you. I am still following along. I feel like i understand the candlesticks well now, using some technical indicators. I did some paper trading and accidentally pushed the wrong button, lost a ton and once my dog bumped one on my phone and sold when I was down! So glad it was a simulator! 😅 I am studying some terminology and watching your videos to keep my thoughts clear. I have a small account with $100 in it and have had profits 60% of the time. I think it’s futures and want to change that. I can’t remember which off shore account I was approved on and can’t find it in my email but you mentioned it. If you are able to refresh my memory on which you have previously mentioned.

I’m learning in the simulator. Is there a time lag from the exchanges? How do they effectively change your buys and sells?
I keep trying to fill out stock screener per your specifications but there's current volume, average volume and relative volume. Not just "who's volume is up 5x as normal" . 😐
