Hello, I followed your example, but at 9:04 I got an error message saying "Kinematic calculation error (Number of constraints is wrong (4 instead of 5)". Error in speed definition.) I can't find the reason. Could you help me solve this problem? Thank you.
we are doing a 2 stage gearbox for an extruder in the petroindustry in my uni here in switzerland with kisssoft and one stage happens to be a planetary stage. that video was very helpful tho! But i was a little disappointed with the foot pounds haha! cheerio mate!
Hey my friend, cool video, but i have a problem. I am a student develping an one stage planetary gearbox wich has two inputs and one output. the problem is, that kisssys can not sum up the two powerinputs into one without a kinematic error. can you help?
So, in your case, you can develop a couple of different ways to run the power split. First, you need to define the boundary conditions of your inputs and outputs. You should have three total, two in and one out. You can manually run the power split by controlling the torque and speed inputs and outputs. for example, if you control the output torque, you need to control the speed at the inputs and let the torque not be controlled.
Thanks for the tutorial but I have a question about positioning planetary shaft. I think their positions is dependent to carrier shaft. When I changed the carrier shaft position axially their positions change also. But I cannot change radial position of planet gears (I want to arrange axial distance between sun and planet gear) in KISSsys module. I tried to change the distance between sun and planet gear axis on gear calculations Kissoft module and clicked refresh in KISSsys, the radial positions of planetary gears did not change in KISSsys. I also tried to change its positions by 'show coordinates and entered required positions and clicked OK' I could not see any change on position of planetary gears on KISSsys.
if there will be an axial offset, you need to define that in the gear calculation module, basic data and next to the the facewidth tab, there is a plus icon, click that, and you can define an offset. I think this is what you are asking.
Hello Warner, I followed the steps, but with different inputs. When I pressed "calculate," the sun gear became an internal gear instead. I'm having trouble switching it back to an external gear. Could you guide me on how to make this change?
@@Sanchit0312 i don’t think so, however it’s an efficiency calculation module so if you have that module u can calculate the efficiency of a planetary along with machine elements

What University are you attending? If you go to the templates icon, you can add a complete planetary stage. If you are using a University License, we can get you an updated version that will make this much easier to set up.
Thank you for video. But I have a question. Can we export 3D model or some form of model, step file, and if we can't do that is there any way to get 3d model?
The size factor is a number you can specify that will provide an approximate corresponding torque in Nm, and then size all of the gears and shafts when you start entering the machine elements in the model tree. So if you turn on geometry when you add a shaft or a gear, the program inserts a gear or shaft at the corresponding torque based on the size factor of the settings.

is the ring gear fixed?
You'll need to check the supports in the shaft modules I think, check the ring gear is fixed with the supports.

Glad it was helpful. Next time I'll use Nm.
